Lakeside Restaurant & Bar - La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa Ratings and Reviews
We shared the scallop appetizer, bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin and a salad. Everything was delicious. They also had some really nice wines to choose from. We are from out of state and found the prices to be reasonable. Missed the view because it was dark. Waitstaff was knowledgeable and friendly.
Because this was a special occasion, we went the week before to be sure the food met our expectations. It was prime rib night and was enjoyable. The next week with our friends, it was embarrassing. The prime rib was not freshly prepared. Very obviously re heated. Same with baked potato. Salad was acceptable but not like the week before. The reason we didn't complain was because our waiter was excellent and trying very hard to please. He could not
do anything about the food preparation. Will not gamble on another $150.00 return visit.
WE had a wonderful dinner, seated very fast. Our waiter was fantastic, we showed him our certificate and we was very pleased to let us know what we could order. We celebrated our 21st Anniversary and the food was terrific. Our waiter decorated our dessert with chocolate, he took pics for us. He was an outstanding waiter, the restaurant was clean and pleasing to the eye.
Loved every minute of it. We even asked if we could be valeted back to the hotel, no problem he was there waiting on us when he came out of the restaurant! Top rated! Definitely recommend!
As semi regular diners we noticed a downward trend. Chopped salad was mostly arugula. My regular honey mustard dressing not available. The prime rib special was a thinner slice than usual. No complaints about the server. Casey was most attentive, but obviously new.
But, how in the world can you have a restaurant with a stand-alone bar with no bar tender there........and when there cannot make a vodka gimlet. All it takes is Rose's lime juice and
Such a beautiful setting wasted on lacking essentials.
Had a great time and the food was to die for! Terry was a great server and worked really hard to make sure we had a nice anniversary dinner! We also received two complimentary desserts since it was our anniversary! They were gigantic and so decadent! We ended up sharing one and took the other for later! We will probably make this a regular thing because it was so good! Also, the lakeside dining was so nice. The views were beautiful! Highly recommend!
The food is very costly so one would expect that it tastes good, but it doesn't. We had a greasy, floppy bacon appetizer and spinach artichoke dip-more like soup consistency than dip-with whole pieces of spinach and huge chunks of artichoke that needed to be chopped on the plate before you could eat it and burnt pita bread. The black side was turned down so maybe we wouldn't notice until you bite into it? The entrees were not much better. The stuffed chicken was both tasteless and bad tasting at the same time-an accomplishment really. The roasted potatoes were quite hard and again tasteless. The macaroni and cheese was bland and not really hot. Two people ordered steaks medium rare and they received medium well-no red or pink in sight. I left my entire plate of food-except the asparagus. The waiter didn't even ask if everything was okay, he asked if I wanted a to go box when he finally did come over. We spent the majority of our time there with empty water glasses. The restaurant was fairly empty-I know why now-and the service was this poor? I don't mind spending a lot for a good meal and water in my glass, you will find neither here and I would never return to this establishment, nor recommend it to anyone I didn't have a grudge against.
A perfect waterfront setting for any occasion, the sunsets are amazing! The food is creative and delicious, not your average menu. A small quaint Restaraunt with a ton of character. The service staff are friendly and accommodating. You will never be disappointed!
Food was good, not outstanding, but good. Creamed spinach was awesome. Biggest problem with this place is parking. If you're not staying at the hotel, which we were not, there's limited parking...like 4 spaces. So they tell you to valet at the hotel, which is a hike! And then to valet for dinner, it's $12. Somehow, that isn't right! View is great and service was excellent.
Scallops, Filet, Risotto, Spinach, Baked Alaska, and Chocolate were excellent. Peppercorn Strip was disappointing, basically not a very good cut...tough and too much gristle and fat as well as a bit underdone.
Setting is beautiful and noise level is good for conversation.
Our server (Angie or Candy?) was
The food was great! But the service was poor. The waiter was doing his job but the restaurant hostess was M.I.A. It took 20mins to even be greeted, the appetizers took 35mins, first drink 17mins, and entree 32mins. We also asked for a romantic table but because there was no hostess there was no acknowledgement.
The view of the lake was stunning and the outdoor seating area would have been great if it were just a bit warmer. The ambiance is very nice and the food was better than anticipated. I frequent many upscale restaurants in Houston and this restaurant is definitely on par quality and atmosphere wise. I highly recommend it!
It was a special occasion for us. We had met on this date 20 years ago. I wanted to treat her to something special. Lakeside fit the bill. We ordered the shrimp and crab claw cocktail. The prawns were a nice size and fresh. The crab claw was a bit chewy and not as fresh. I'm not very fond of iceberg lettuce but I must say the wedge salad was delicious with a fresh wedge of lettuce. I had the mushroom and asparagus stuffed chicken. I asked if the asparagus could be served on the side and it was and it was lightly steamed then thrown on the grill. Perfect! Our waiter, Blake was thorough and charming.
In all, I give this venue a 4.5 star.
Waiter was awesome. Food was disappointing..
New York steak was tough as a boot. Red Fish overcooked.. baked potato was lukewarm.., but the asparagus was wonderful..
First and probably last time even though we have a La Torretta membership..
Sad that this beautiful location is so poorly utilized..
