Lakeside Grille & Bar Ratings and Reviews
We have met friends at this location many times for Sunday brunch. It is always clean and the ambiance is nice. The brunch is a nice variety of items with something for everyone. The food is well prepared and the server was very attentive and friendly. Would have liked to sit in the atrium with a view of the golf course but it was chilly despite the heaters being operational so all diners sat in the main section in the interior of the restaurant. In all it is a very good choice to get together and enjoy a meal.
The weather was beautiful and their patio with tiki lights outside looked gorgeous. We are inside in the Atrium and we were early and the only diners at first . The service was not great as I think our waiter was also serving in the dining room. We had to ask for him several times. We tried their early bird dinner for 25.00 each and it was just ok . A bit disappointing since I was treating my friend for her birthday who had her wedding there 7 years ago. They had a guitar player at the bar area. Oh well too bad .😟
We were seated promptly given our choice of tables in different rooms. Our waitress Kristen arrived shortly after we were seated. Kristen was very helpful with our wine and dinner choices. Our steaks were cooked to perfection just as we ordered. All in all this was a great discovery not to far off the beaten path.
We went for Father's Day. They had an international menu which I didn't know when I made the reservation, so it was a nice surprise, pairing wines with food from the respective countries. This particular week it was Argentina and I love Malbec.
Our server was excellent and very friendly. The food was excellent and all requests were filled with a smile.
All was good; wine, beer, waitress service, etc. Food can vary (especially specials) but it was very good on Saturday night. The ONLY constant problem is that we are shown to the worst table in the restaurant (we were unable to sit in the bar where we do prefer, mostly because of this constant of the worst table.) There is one in the middle of the floor, in view of the traffic from lobby to bar and restaurant, where all the waitstaff need to get around, VERY noisy due to trajectory of noise from bar. So, we asked for a more quiet one; told it was reserved. We were there for 1.5 hrs and NOT a soul was shown to that table. Then, we asked for another empty table (I feel made to grovel for this!!) and reluctantly we were allowed to sit at a somewhat better table but again in noise and traffic area. We have been members of this club for over 15 years and yet this happens, time after time. Hence, we prefer the bar!
We have eaten here many times and are usually very satisfied with food and service. This time the food was a great disappointment. Instead of medallions for our chicken marsala dishes we got large chicken breasts with no sauce. Same for our friend who ordered pork special and got two pork chops. There was a large wedding going on and we think that impacted food and service. If we go back it will not be on a Friday or Saturday night. For the price this was a big disappointment. Too many choices around to waste it on Lakeside Grill.
Ordered the Sea Bass...cost 28.00. Unbelievable, it came with 5 pieces of broccoli and basically half a piece of fish...no potato, as usual no salad and not worth the money at all. It was almost embarrassing...and certainly not enough for a dinner. I was very disappointed which I am very often with this place but am forced to eat here. They spend money on new dishes and curtains...how about giving us a decent dinner that is worth the high prices.
While they were closed for renovations this year they perform some very timely and serious upgrades. New carpeting throughout and new window treatments really dressed the place up. They have begun once more to use tablecloths which is really nice. For bottles of wine ordered at the table we now get special stems. Overall a very nice experience.
My friends and I enjoyed a very delicious and casual lunch at the Grill on a chilly day. We sat in the beautiful greenhouse room and were bathed by the warmth of the sun and the beautiful view of the lake. Our server Blanche and her colleagues were very helpful in their suggestions as to what was a recommended dish and boy, was she right! The food was simple, fresh and very tasty. No complaints here! Thanks for a wonderful lunch, folks!
The Sunday brunch buffet at the Ramsey Golf and Country Club is a real treat. There is a grand array of food items to choose from and the dining areas have all the needed fine ambiance. I have been to this buffet a number of times and I will schedule this date again in the future.
My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch by the lake at the grill. Our waitress was wonderful and very helpful in suggesting items we might like. All in all, we had a great time catching up and enjoying the view and food. Definitely recommend the Lakeside grill to anyone looking for a good meal and a nice atmosphere in which to dine.
If they are only interested in serving the golf club members then its fine as is. However if they are seriously interested in attracting others the room is in serious need of freshening. Outdated in just about every way. The brunch was typical and underwhelming. A high price point relative to the service and quality of the food.
My wife and I went to the Lakeside Grille & Bar on a whim. We just wanted something different that was reasonably close to home. It was a very nice experience. Although the food's not great, it's very good and the staff could not have been nicer. We'll definitely go back.
We went to Lakeside for Sunday brunch as a group of 6. At first when we arrived, they appeared to not be ready for us despite out Open Table reservation. Then they went to seat us in a booth. Why would a party of 6 want to sit in a booth for a buffet brunch? Why would we want to keep having to let people out? So we requested not to sit there, and had to wait while they got a table ready. Buffet itself was great. Everything you would expect, eggs, bacon, sausages, cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, cereals, smoked salmon, great hash browns, eggs Benedict, omelets to order and a very good carving station. Great selection and the food was good. I suggest three areas for improvement:
1. Don't try to sit large groups in booths
2. The carving station personnel should not have headphones in his ears
4. The wait staff should remove dirty plates and glasses, and not allow them to stack up in center of table
I highly endorse Lunch and brunch. You can make a reservation, have a large group, and lots of good choices. While the price of brunch has gone up over the past years, it is highly competitive with other brunch places and the value for the buffet is still excellent. Food was great too. Lunch in general is an excellent value with great food.
Had a reservation, had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Bar music was so loud we could not hear waiter, or each other without half yelling. Appetizers were quite good. Dinner entrees ranged from just ok to very good. Penne vodka overcooked. Beer battered shrimp greasy. When we asked for Penne Pomodoro without proscuitto, they said no, the sauce is already made. Service was good up until dinner served, then we saw no one for over a half hour. No coffee or dessert was offered and we had to get from table to ask someone to bring the check. Scotch on the rocks was $15!, NY price without NY ambiance, quality or service. Won't be going back anytime soon.
The food was just outstanding. My wife ordered a prime rib which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I ordered a meatloaf only because of all the establishment's I have been to, I never saw meatloaf on the menu. My meal was very good but I must say my wife's was a little better.
We arrived at 8:00 pm and the place was packed. You couldn't even get to the bar area and the band was very good. They were very loud but very good. The crowd enjoyed the music that is for sure.
Our family went here for Sunday lunch/brunch for my husbands 71st birthday. Their brunch looked and smelled wonderful. We chose to have lunch off the menu instead of brunch and it was excellent. I ordered salad with goat cheese, beets, walnuts and asked for salmon to be added. It was perfect. Two of us ordered hamburgers which were also excellent. It was a very pleasant atmosphere and we'll definitely be back for their brunch and would also like to try dinner.
I have been a patron for over 20 years. This evening I made a 615 reservation on open table. Upon arrival I was told there was no table even though they confirmed I had a reservation. All I received were stupid looks and no apology. I informed them that I would never again returned. They seemed to have no opinion on this. Maybe the manager should do his job. I am writing this review on an old reservation since they must have removed my reservation for tonight from their system once we told them we would not be staying
