Lakeside Dining Room - Hotel Eldorado Ratings and Reviews
We wanted to experience the famous Sunday Brunch. We were a little early but were seated and given water and coffee till it was ready. I tried a few usual items and they were just the way I like them. I tried some items that were a little different and didn't find one that said I need more. I'm afraid I've been spoiled. If you never been its a great place to showcase Kelowna.
Everyone rants and raves about the brunch at El Dorado, so we had high expectations, and we were not disappointed! The Sunday brunch buffet was incredible. There were an insane number of options (omelet station, seafood table, 2 kinds of eggs benedict, potatoes and bacon/sausage, and the list goes on!). There was when a breakfast dessert table complete with chocolate fountain! The service was great and the price was reasonable given the quality and amount of food. Definitely get reservations to ensure you get a seat.
I was visiting Kelowna and I took my son for there. We had a wonderful table on the patio. The fish tacos were very good and my son loved his chicken burger and yam fries. It is our second time at the Elderado and I would go again. I did not know that the valet service is free.
Brunch was good, nice selection of food and it was replenished often. Service was a bit slow for drinks but they were very accommodating. You can't order off the menu during brunch but there were so many options it wasn't an issue. The hotel itself is beautiful and quaint and we had a lovely table on the patio.
There seemed to be a mix up because nobody came to our table for half an hour. Once we asked the manager we did have a server immediately and the service was great from that point. They did offer compensation and we wee very happy from that point. I ordered the sablefish which was cooked perfectly but the overall dish lacked any flavor. My husband ordered mussels in a broth and there might have been two tablespoons of broth at the bottom. You can't beat the view. I think the boardwalk bar seating might be our choice next time. The menu there looked good and more reasonable
For a water front dining restaurant it's ok. The place is small and cramped on the inside not for intimate setting, very noisy. Our service was ok but forgot a few things but again very noisy hard to hear and busy which took long time in getting our meals. When you finally get your meals based on the price your paying you'd hope that it was plated appropriately and that it doesn't come in dollar store pot!! But it did ... I have been here before years ago and thought it was great and the menu very appetizing, but was very disappointed this time around. Each to there own but it's off my list.
Poor service, felt as thou she was more intestested in doing other things then actually attending our table. Took forever to get drinks. Food is average AT BEST, arrived cold, and zero flavour. Was highly disappointed as this was our first time there, and will be our last. Overpriced for what you get, better service and food at Earls.
We were a large group celebrating the life of a passed family member and our server Kev was amazinG! He was conscientious and did not rush us in any way. The ambiance of the old veranda was perfect and the hostess sat us in a quiet corner. The view of lake okanagan and the boat launch was beautiful and very entertaining.
The food was ok- a little light in serving size given the prices ( note the fish and chips only included 1 piece of fish) but the service, location and ambience are definitely the draw to this restaurant
Our special occasion was a family reunion. We visited on recommendation of a family member. The food was very good and all four of us enjoyed every bite. Our waiter Jarod was pleasant. Unfortunately the soup was not very warm when served and had to be replaced. The leftover meat one of our party requested to take home was never returned to us. Allover, service could be neater.
Still, we had a nice meal and enjoyed our visit.
We were disappointed with our service, which is usually exceptional. We are frequent summer visitors to the restaurant, but did not see any familiar servers at all. Does this mean that all the service staff has changed? If so, perhaps some more training would be in order. We also had to wait an inordinate amount of time for our food.
Dinner reservation for 4 requested on the patio. Told when we arrived there are no patio reservations but we could sit on the boardwalk. That sounded great... until we were seated and looked at the bar menu, not the dining room (that we reserved) menu. Our waiter arrived and said they can provide the dining room menu in the boardwalk no problem. So all sounds great. Then the fiasco begins.... errors and mishaps in timing that resulted in food we didn't order arriving at our table and the appetizers and meals we ordered arriving in no particular order and in the end one entree not arriving at all. Then the repeated apologies that rang hollow because they were followed by more mistakes. Finally after requesting to see the manager, we were reassured that they wouldn't charge us for the entree that never arrived in the first place. The extra sauce we ordered arrived after the food it was to accompany was finished. So after all the mishaps (that the manager blamed on the kitchen) we paid in full for our 400$ meal. I would expect more than an apology (and deflecting blame to his staff) from the manager of a fine restaurant when the entire event goes sideways. Finally, the entrees that came were good. The seafood tower was sparse and way overpriced. All in all a poor experience barely compensated for by the spectacular setting.
