Lakeside Chophouse - Bayshore Inn Ratings and Reviews
The scenery is beautiful in this restaurant, however like most places in Waterton it's really overpriced. The food was alright but the quality didn't match the price. Something I wouldn't recommend anyone getting is the the dessert with the mousse, if you are a chocolate mousse fan you will not enjoy it as it has a very weird texture and the taste isn't that great either.
We had a fantastic experience at the Lakeside Chophouse. The food was exceptional, wait staff was friendly and attentive, the views were incredible, and we never felt rushed. The meal was probably one of the best we have had all year long. If you are in Waterton and you want an incredible meal, we would highly recommend the Lakeside Chophouse.
We had booked the table on July 9 indicating it was our anniversary and would Iike a nice table. That did not happen but we were able to move to a waterfront table when another couple left. Our waitress was in an extreme rush for us to order our drinks and food at the same time. Steak was not cooked to order and the food was cold. We spent a better part of our meal swatting flies as the doors are left open all day. Also had breakfast there and asked for a fly swatter! Highly overrated!! Tired decor, needs new chairs and needs a deep clean.
We (2 couples) were on a group tour staying at Prince of Wales hotel with a free night and chose Chophouse based on menu, location and external appearance. We were rewarded with great service and well prepared food (meat and fish). Capstone though was a "to die for" NY cheesecake.
We are at the Chophouse twice we loved the Bison steak so much! They know how to cook a game-meat steak right! We enjoyed both meals, one with a 2 year old and family. Service was great, even at a busy time. Desserts were lovely, especially the berry pie and the chocolate "pot de creme" which is actually a wonderful chocolate mousse.
It was the perfect restaurant to go to you when you just want to feel like you're on vacation and have a relaxing meal and drink by the water. We also had our three-year-old with us and he was able to leave the patio and run around the green grass where they had a water fountain right by a lake, so your child is running around the restaurant. It was perfect. Very child friendly as well. But fancy meal that tasted great and wasn't huge huge portions but just the perfect amount. The concentrate more on quality and taste than quantity .
Beautiful spot in Waterton for dinner. Truly breathtaking. Steaks may be their specialty but my medium rare steak was medium and prices aren't cheap. Also waiter needs to understand how to modify sides. Don't say you will if you won't. Nevertheless a beautiful spot for outdoor dining on a beautiful summer day.
My wife and I enjoyed an outstanding dinner at the Lakeside Chophouse while visiting Waterton Lakes National Park. Everything we had was excellent. I started with the Bison Salami flatbread and then had a salmon entree. The glaze on the salmon was outrageously good. They have a wonderful chef. Service was also very good, with friendly staff members. I would highly recommend the Lakeside Chophouse to anyone visiting the area.
My hamburger was just average but my wife loved the mushroom risotto. Unfortunately only a "short" menu and not the "long" menu (which I had seen online and was looking forward to) was available due to a special Thanksgiving buffet offering. We had already had a Thanksgiving meal so we wanted the regular menu. Otherwise, the service was excellent. I was disappointed but will give this restaurant a second chance on a future visit to Waterton Park.
Beautiful setting in Waterton Lake in the International Peace Park. Since it was raining, we could not sit outside. However, the entire room has large glass windows facing the lake with a view from every table.
As it's name implies, the restaurant is known for its steaks and chops. The short ribs looked to be delicious as they were served at the next table, but we both opted for the steaks. I had the "Millionaire's Cut" filet mignon with herb butter. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was as delicious as I had heard from one of the locals. My husband ordered the Alberta beef strip steak, which he also enjoyed. The only real issue was that he had ordered it to be don "Pittsburg" style, which is well-seasoned and seared, and this one was not. We assume that the Canadian chef was not familiar with that cooking technique. No matter, both steaks were excellent in flavor and texture. Both steaks were served with standard seasonal vegetables and a choice of potatoes. While the service was not the best, the steaks and the view certainly made it worth a repeat visit the next time are there.
Chophouse did not live up to its recommendations.
Poor service, inattentive server, long wait for meal! When our meal was finally served it came with apologies and special preparation by the chef - EXCEPT it wasn't what what we'd ordered. We could have overlooked the loudness had our drinks or meal been on target, but the sadly it added to the disappointment No reason to return.
Only problem with the restaurant was that they didn't know how to keep tables reserved. We had a reservation for 8 @ 7pm and they didn't have any tables available, it felt like the manager was just hoping things would work out and they could make as much money as possible without consideration for my parents 50th anniversary dinner.
Service was amazing and so was the food!!!!!
Enjoyed the dinner very much and the scenery was beautiful. However, the ambiance was spoiled by the disrepair of the Chophouse. There were holes in the patio wood railing and paint was peeling off the floor. The whole area seemed to need improvements of some sort that would not be too expensive and much more appealing to the eye.
The welcome was great coming in. Was early for our reservation but was willing to accommodate us early even if it was busy. We ordered the wings for our appetizer but found it to be too breaded. Plus it took a long time to get our food.. Almost 45 mins before we even got anything to eat. I ordered the short ribs and it came to me cold so I had to send it back to get reheated. That was little dissapointing cuz I had to wait even longer for the food. Other than that, the place was nice.
Dinner: Overall the food was quite good but the rice in the dishes was not good quality and so it took away from the overall meal.
We also had breakfast there the next day and again food was quite good but the french toast could have been soaked with more eggs to give it a less bready taste.
Good place to go before the Crypt lake hike.
Nice setting on the back patio overlooking the Lake. Extensive varied menu so everyone could order something they liked including my vegetarian daughter. Restaurant had been swamped with customers so waiter was a little harried and floor needed a good sweep. Food was tasty and price reasonable
