Great atmosphere, great food and great service. I love this place for friends, family and business
Thank you for a most enjoyable evening! Everything was perfect and I’m so happy because I was taking my friends out in return for their lovely hospitality! Until next time!
Food was very good. Enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere. Loved the patio too. Service was good .
Delicious food. Superb ambience. We had such a wonderful lunch experience at Lakeside and we definitely return
Lovely setting which is the best thing about it. it truly is a little hidden oasis in the middle of the LA chaos. The food is pretty decent (the lobster mango salad was excellent with generous portions of real lobster) but I think it really depends on what you order. Service needs work as we waited for a long time
Waiter was not friendly, all the other tables received basket of bread but we did not.
Food was just ok
Nice large patio. Lake was more of a pond but no big deal. What was a big deal is that it took forever for the server to even come to our table to say hello and take our drink orders...and even longer to get our drinks. In fact, after about a 1/2 hour, I went to the bar and picked up my own drink. After an even longer wait, our crab cake appetizer came out ice cold. Not sure if they were just under staffed for a Saturday night or if this is their norm as it was my first time at this restaurant. You’d think after all that, they would comp something or offer a dessert...or even an apology. Nothing! The entrees were okay but neither myself or my friends will be back. Too many other options in the area.
We enjoyed Lakeside; the ambiance was great. The food was good. But the service was lacking. It took about 15 minutes before a waitress even came over to us, and then another 20-25 minutes for our drinks and appetizers to be delivered... and that was only after we hailed the hostess to see what happened to our waitress.
Despite arriving at 6 pm on a Sunday when the restaurant was only partially full, the service was very inattentive and the noise level on the covered patio was over 90 db which is very unpleasant for dining when you want to talk with your friends. Incorrect orders were twice delivered to our table.
The food was good, but did not justify the high price; a single entree without appetizer, salad, or desert for 4 was $180
We will have to continue looking for a new favorite restaurant in the Valley now that Cafe Bizou has closed after 25 years.
Awesome restaurant - you can tell the woman that owns the place really cares about her restaurant and wants everyone that dines their to have a wonderful experience
Noise level was low because we were seated outside. It can get quite loud inside.
❤️’d this restaurant! My citrus chicken salad was excellent and my friend loved the turkey club! We both loved the chocolate lava cake and practically licked the plate clean! Definitely going back next week to try something from the brunch menu!
I do recommend it but only with the caveat to always expect the service to be very slow. It doesn't seem to matter how busy it is. My party of two waited 40 minutes to get our food. When I asked where it was after 30 minutes, the answer was that had a big party of 20 that was sucking up the kitchen's time. Of course a group of 20 would have been reserved so they would have known that demand and could have called in extra help for lunch. There is always a different excused, but I do return because it is a good location for me, food is good though a bit overpriced, but ambiance is wonderful.
Food was really not well prepared and so was the service
Best to sit outside near the water as the noise level is much higher indoors. We were there for Sunday Brunch and we fairly pleased with our choices. Salads were fine, but not anything special. The service was not what we had hoped for, but in all fairness, it was crazy busy that day. The weather was gorgeous, so dining al fresco made it all worthwhile. I would go back.
Always enjoy sitting on the patio and gazing out at the park. Wonderful place to meet friends.
Not the best experience overall. I went in at 10:15 am and it was pretty empty. It took a while before our waitress came and took our drink order. Then came back a while later with no drinks to take a food order. We got our coffee a little while after finally. Our food showed up, and that seemed like an eternity of just waiting for our food. One of the plates was good and hot food, the other were cold. I waited around to mention this, and no one came around. I had to get up and tell a bus boy to get my server. My server took my steak and eggs, and berry french toast away. Atleast 10 minutes later they came back and my food was just warmed up. It didnt not look good and i sent it back when the waitress came. They finally remade the food and the manage came by to say sorry, and that was it. There was some loud people talking around the patio area. I wouldnt go back here, as the food was pricey and the service was not really good for charging that much.
Been here twice. Once with a large party and food and service was amazing. Went back for our anniversary dinner and unfortunately our waiter was not on his game. We waited a long time for him to just take our order and bring us bread. I will still go back because the food is amazing and ambiance is great. Hopefully won’t get that waiter again.
Everything was lovely.
Everyone enjoyed their food.
The wait staff was great!
Love it there!
Only note ... at dinner with a costly dinner...
Cloth napkins should be used.
Paper napkins a little tacky at dinner!
Wonderful restaurant! The food, service and location are all great. I come here often
It's always a pleasure to sit outside under the trees with the ducks "honking" at us. Great ambiance
combined with good food - can't be beat!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great ambiance, decent-but-overpriced food, and an inexcusably terrible system of processing reservations and getting guests seated. Even with a reservation, it ends up as first-come-first-served -- we arrived 10 minutes early and waited 35 minutes for everyone ahead of us (reservation or no reservation) to be seated. The waiting room was filled with angry diners, all of whom were told it would be "about 10 minutes" to get their tables. Once they finally got to us, the outdoor dining area had plenty of tables (but not enough servers), so it was unclear why we had to wait so long.
This is a great concept and location for a restaurant, and I hate giving a bad review, but for years they have neglected to bring their seating/service model up to speed, so it's always a frustrating experience -- and that's especially insulting after paying ~$40 for a mediocre plate that arrives late.
I have been to Lakeside Café many times and I always enjoy it. My friend and I had the Kobe burgers for lunch and we were both very happy with the quality and delicious taste! This remains one of my go-to places for good food and a good time!
This is definitely a nice place for a date night. Food is good quality and the ambiance is tranquil and peaceful.
Too noisy....could barely hear our table mates talking....
This restaurant is a hidden gem! Beautiful surroundings, looking out on a natural spring lake with waterfowl (they are a little noisy, but worth it). The service and the food was very good.
Great food. Great service. Hugo the chef is amazing
Attentive staff and excellent ambiance. The food arrived on heated plates was most satisfying.
It was very nice and pleasant! Loved the food and the sangria!
Spectacular time at Lakeside!! Great place. Great view!
Horrible service. The waitress took too long to take our order and brought the check before we finish our drinks..she was rushing us..asking if we were ready to pay. The food is great!
Had my gender reveal party here ! The table was perfect outside even though they somehow got my reservation wrong after they had even called me the day before to make sure it was correct . They had made two reservations under my name which I didn’t ask for . Luckily I got the table I wanted outside! They let us decorate the table how I wanted . Got to bring in a big ballon for the surprise with confetti inside , just were told to make sure it didn’t go into the lake . The service was great aside from the manger asking inappropriate questions. She kept asking about the dad when she clearly saw he wasn’t there and noticed we all stayed quiet. It wasn’t until a friend told her to stop asking, that he was there for a reason did she stop , not very nice if you ask me ! Everyone else ,our server and the rest or the workers were great ! Even the people dining were all excited and look forward to the reveal.
food was well prepared. the room is noisy. we shared a few things and the servers didn't seem to realize that shared means an extra plate and or silverware. many other restaurants split orders so the guests are not trying to manage heavy plates and awkward moves. As stated, all of the food was well prepared and was very tasty.
This was my fourth time at Lakeside in the past two months so my comments are based on the entire experience. That I've returned so frequently is a comment itself but I don't see that frequency continuing to the same degree . Their food can be superb at times but sometimes not worth the price. For example the skirt steak was excellent but the branzino was a bit overcooked. The expensive Sunday buffet ( $ 31 pp) had an outstanding prime rib, yet the rest of the fare was the kind you could get at a Ramada brunch at half the price. Atmosphere is nice and wait staff is very good. It's a good place to bring younger kids to see the ducks. But eating on the patio can be a bit challenging when it's cold. Their heaters have only one setting which can make it too hot, but turning them off altogether means it's too cold. Don't know what it's like on warm summer days. All in all, Lakeside is a pretty safe "go-to"choice as you will generally get good food and service and usually the environment is pleasant.
I was disappointed that they had recently changed their menu. It was much better before and now it feels more like a boutique coffee shop than a restaurant.
$35 for Sunday brunch, servers were nice but I barely saw them, food was either very salty or tasteless.
Overpriced and way too loud. Maybe we got an off night. The service was fine, few minor errors, which were corrected. Maybe happy hour would be worth it with decent drinks.
Great service, great food and great alcohol! :D
Sat out on covered patio, food was good had the vegetarian lasagna great sauce.
Great indoor/outdoor venue, in a relaxed atmosphere. Dine outside by the lake!
