We enjoyed a late afternoon Sunday dinner. Relaxed atmosphere. The trout was delicious! Nice selection of beers - truly something for any beer drinker's preference.

We had a good experience. A couple of minor things were not served as requested but these were corrected cheerfully when mentioned. The food was very tasty and we had a good time too.

Everyone in our party of 5 had a great meal. Nice casual place, great location. Good addition to Oak Park's dining scene.

The clam chowder soup should not have been allowed to be called clam chowder. Also - when I ask for crackers for my soup you should have some. What type of restaurant offering daily soup specials each day doesn't have crackers - or some alternative they could offer me. The bad soup accompanied by an unhelpful waiter made for a meal I didn't even want to finish.

This is a nice basic restaurant with all of the basics. The service could be a little better and the noise level a little lower. But for the location and overall I would recommend if you are in the area.

I've been here many times and I'm never disappointed! Lots of beer options. My fiancé and I like to go for drinks and split a bunch of appetizers. The only one that was subpar was the pork tacos app - but we still ate them.

This is a good spot for drinks and a few noshes to go along with those libations. The food is okay, but not great. I think it's good for meeting a friend for an after-work drink or for hanging out before/after exploring down-town Oak Park. Service can be hit or miss.

Nice small plate menu with some items with a twist. Loved the Moroccan Pork Sliders, Oak Park has numerous parking garages that make it an easy stop on the way into the city.

Went out with a few friends on a Saturday night, Lake Street Kitchen + Bar is one of the few late-night hangouts in Oak Park, so we thought we would give it a whirl. I was expecting more when it came to food options, very basic, lots of sandwiches, I can make a sandwich at home. Drinks were also pretty expensive and service was ridiculously slow, even though they were not that busy. We waited for over 20 minutes to put in our drink order, then an additional 25 minutes before the waiter came back to take our food order. Overall our tab was around $130 and I don't think we received $130 worth in service or food/drinks. We left hungry, unsatisfied and relatively annoyed at the experience.

This is the second time I have visited with my husband and two young boys. We all ordered what we had the last time because we enjoyed it so much. Two people love the pizza/flatbread and I love the bacon sandwich. 1/2 price bottles of wine on Wednesday and they will wrap bottle if you don't finish. Service was good--one server training another. Very attentive. Had a small problem that was dealt with quickly--no complaints.

Waited 15 min after being seated before I was waited on. Manager or owner saw this because he sat and visited with people he knew at the next table. Other waiters saw too, but it was not their table so did not care. Food is nothing special. Service is slow. This place is dirty. Sidewalks desperately need to be washed down before tables are set out daily. It smells when you walk by in the morning because of how dirty it is. This restaurant has a perfect location and could be a gold mine but they need a new chef, better trained wait staff and better cleaning practices. I've eaten here several times only because of the location, but this will be my last time until I hear things have changed.

This place is too noisy. It was hard to have a conversation inside. Other than the one flatbread we ordered, the other two items were terrible. Inedible even. Both had to be sent back to the kitchen. We placed another order for a flatbread. The flatbreads are great, but I would be afraid to order anything else from the menu. Maybe the menu is too ambitious for the kitchen staff to handle. They should concentrate on making the flatbreads. The waitress was very pleasant, and handled the situation well. If it were not for the flatbread, I would give this restaurant only one star. We were looking forward to a nice dining experience, but were greatly disappointed. Sorry to have to give a thumbs down, but we definitely will not be coming back.

This restaurant usually exceeds my expectations. Even when they are busy they seem glad to see me. The sidewalk cafe is delightful.

I think we reserved a time that was a bit too early 5:15 on Friday because the staff was not quite ready. Overall it was good but next time no kids.

I met three friends for a birthday celebration on a Saturday night. I was pleased to find it was large enough that it didn't feel crowded and the noise level was just right for carrying on a conversation. Ambiance was nice and so were the staff. Food was tasty and priced reasonably. I particularly recommend the flatbreads.

The food at Lake Street is amazing! Great flavors and fresh ingredients right down to the coleslaw. The food is expensive (About $30 per person if you don't order a cocktail), but it is very flavorful. At times, service was a little slow, but the server was energetic and accommodating. Lastly, we ordered a meat and cheese board ($29), and were a little disappointed at the amount of each item we chose. The meat and cheeses were quality, and certainly worth the cost, but be prepared for small portions if you order a board. Overall, the restaurant is great. Quite yummy and unique!

Had the Mussels special. Tasty, but a relatively small portion and no salad, etc. included. A bit pricey for a small bowl of tiny mussels!

The food was amazing and subtle ways the flavors in some of the dishes work together worth a repeat visit. A warning to date night types looking for a spot to converse though...this place is LOUD on a Friday night when packed. That would maybe keep us from visiting again when it's busy.

Being the silly man that I am, I waited to book a reservation on the day of valentine's day. Not smart. However, I decided to use Opentable to see what was still available. I happened upon lake street bar and grill. My wife and I had eaten here once before on an afternoon when it was slow. It was also during lent and my wife had given up cheese (they have a great charcuterie) so it wasn't the best experience. However, for this valentine's day it was a truly awesome experience. They had our table reserved by name and we were sat immediately. The service was great considering how busy it was. This place is a bar and restaurant and both were hopping on valentine's day. Service was still good. The food tasted great. A+ experience.

A lively atmosphere, despite there being a snow storm that night. The staff was wonderful, accommodating and friendly. I enjoyed the veggie chili and my date had the soup, which were both great.

I took a couple friends from the city to Lake Street Kitchen + Bar for dinner on an early dinner. They had a good table for 6 of us, but it was under some direct lights that got VERY hot. Several times my co-diners remarked how warm it was. We had some wine flights and beer. The drinks took some time, but the waitress explained them well. We had a selection of flatbreads, lamb sliders, salad, and lentil quinoa cakes. Everyone certainly liked the food, but I felt the quinoa cake was a little overpriced for what you got at $11. Overall, the food was good, and I'd go back, but not race there.

I want to like this place. I have had perfectly fine lunches here and the service is always friendly and prompt. The ambience is just right mix of neighborhood and trendy with a mix of tables, Craft brews, and hip staff, however I have found the dinner entres lack the right flavors to make the food noteworthy. A good place if you want a drink and some flatbread or a cheese plate but not worth going out of your way for dinner.

Our main meat dish was served cold when it should have been hot... If it was cooked before our other dishes at least put it under a heating lamp. Wine/beer selection was nice. Lighting was weird and kept changing throughout the duration of the meal. Server was friendly. Inquired about birthdays as it was a special dinner celebration however there was nothing special done by this venue which was a bit disappointing.

Food was excellent although the portions were a little small for the price.
