Lake Rabun Hotel and Restaurant
It features a creatively prepared and presented Contemporary American menu with a Southern twist in the farm to table tradition. Fresh produce locally grown is hand selected and prepared by our Chef de Cuisine, Claudia Nesbit, whose entrees respect the natural flavors of high quality, humanely raised and locally harvested food. His kitchen produces cuisines from many regions including Classical French, Southern USA, and Mediterranean. Many guests describe the food at the Lake Rabun Hotel as "the best in the mountains."
Wednesday- Friday: 6pm - 10pm
Saturdays 5pm -10pm
Brunch Every Sunday: 11am - 2pm
We were there fifteen minutes before the time we had reservations. There were tables in both rooms that were available but we were still not seated. Another party came in without a reservation and they seated them immediately before calling for us.
Another person in our party and I ordered quiche and a parfait. When we received our meal there was a tiny slice of quiche only large enough for about three bites. On the same plate was a small serving of blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. Parfait???? not cream, whipped cream, ice cream or any kind of cream. My friend and I left hungry. No......I was not pleased. The men ordered larger meals and were pleased.
The restaurant at Lake Rabun Hotel is always aesthetically appealing. On this day, food quality was about on par with the past; service was down--even the attitude of the person who appeared to be the manager appeared not to really care about customers. I will return but selectively. Other restaurants may be more caring about customers.
As always, Lake Rabun hotel did not disappoint! Food was terrific and service was outstanding!
Our food was excellent, thanks joyed our evening
We loved the food and service. Would definitely come back.
Absolutely wonderful. The staff is awesome, the food is out of this world. Josh, the manager makes every time we dine there seem like a special occasion. This is our favorite place to dine. Thanks
Food, service, and management's attention to detail keep us driving 50+ minutes to dine here often.
Ordered medium- well steak came out really done, sweet potatoes augratin was cold, took it back and brought another one it was ok . The cobbler was ok. No management came talking to us. Our waiter god bless his heart did everything he can. Overall it was awful experience
We love this very special gem in the north Georgia mountains! We usually are there once a week, and find it always a delightful and delicious evening. The chef is creative and skilled at his craft, the ingredients excellent, the specialty cocktails fun and tasty. The servers are an amazing group of wonderful young people who are both beautifully trained and have a natural gift for warm, gracious customer service. Manager Josh oversees all in a welcoming, professional manner with a great sense of humor added to the mix.
This is one of our favorite go-to places. We stopped in this week for a Thursday night burger. It was excellent - perfectly prepared with interesting topping options. We have on other visits had the trout, steak, porkchops, and other entree items, all of which have been excellently prepared by the new chef. Specialty cocktail was yummy. Staff is friendly and efficient, and seem to actually care that you enjoy your meal. The atmosphere is charming in a beautifully restored historic inn. Clientele are a combination of inn guests and locals - it is fun to watch people greeting their friends and making new acquaintances. Definitely worth a trip to dine in this unique location.
Dinner was superb. Ambience authentic, charming, warm. I love the intimacy of the place and the service was excellent.
This is a beautiful setting for a restaurant that provides adequate but uninteresting food. The menu doesn't change much. The brunch items are pretty heavy. Would be nice to just be able to get an omelette and a salad rather than a massive breakfast. Our waiter was attentive which was unusual. Generally, they are high school kids who have dining experience limited to McDonald's.
We waited over an hour for our entrees for 3 people. No apologies given. Our reservation was at 8:15.
Awesome night with signature cocktails and awesome seafood, fish and steak! Our entire party was very pleased!
Wonderful! Best restaurant for ambiance and food in the state of GA.
We rolled in after a long day white water rafting on the Chattooga River. We managed to put on a dress for the lady and a collared shirt and shorts for the man. They were both in flip-flops but we felt perfectly comfortable in our attire. Casual or resort attire seem to be the flavor. Family feel from the staff. The maître d’ seemed to know everyone in the dining room. Most likely guests at the resort. He spoke to us casually about breaking in a new staff member: our waiter. We had very attentive staff.. The bartender was also a waiter and was pushing his gray goose martini With strawberry and basil infusion. I had the duck and it was sublime. I plan to recommend this restaurant to all my foodie friends. But no one else. Because I want to keep this a little secret of my own.
The atmosphere was quiet, romantic and the food was outstanding. Each morning there was a gourmet breakfast. The private porch and scenery was like sunshine on a Sunday morning.
Stand by here in North Georgia where options are few for good restaurants. The food is basically average but for the area better than the norm. The service can be iffy--they use a lot of inexperienced waiters who don't know much about food or wine. In this case our server did fine. The place is beautiful however and always quiet so good for conversation.
Another wonderful evening at the LR Hotel! Josh and his team attended to our every need. Chef had some wonderful and unique culinary preparations!
Incredible dinner! We had the deconstructed spicy tuna roll, a featured appetizer, and it was delicious! I had the featured entree, sauted halibut with sun-dried tomato risotto. The halibut was cooked perfectly, nice brown sear and moist inside. The risotto was very well prepared. My dining companion had the shrimp and grits, and was very pleased. The restaurant was busy and we heard only good remarks from other diners. It was definitely worth the one hour drive.
Average at best- I have been several times before, this time was not up to the previous visits- a little disappointed-
Outstanding in every way...a major metro-caliber gem on the side of a natural, rural jewel
The food was excellent and thoughtfully prepared. The braised kale was delicious and I don't even like kale. It complimented the halibut and risotto perfectly. The freshness and variety of ingredients created a wonderful blend of flavor and texture. We came back the next night to enjoy that night's special. Delicious!!!
Since we were guests, we also enjoyed a filling and delicious breakfast.
Food was excellent, but many menu items were gone by 8:15 on a Sunday. Service was a little erratic, but the restaurant seemed to be breaking in a large number of new employees. The manager seemed to be doing his best to keep the new hires doing what they were supposed to.
BTW, the hamburger I ordered was quite possibly the best one I have ever eaten.
we enjoyed our dinner for four with our two daughters. the food was delicious and our drinks were yummy. would totally come back here.
Definitely worth the drive to eat here! Food was exceptional, ambiance was perfect, and the service was on point. We had a wonderful date night here on the last night of our trip staying at Lake Burton. I highly recommend and will definitely return!!
Our experience was awesome. We were there for our anniversary and had dinner at the inn. The dining experience was elegant and classy. The food and staff were great as well. I would definitely recommend this place to others. Job well done!
Wonderful setting, terrific menu, excellent service ... and a good value. What more could you ask for? Our absolute favorite dining choice in Northeast Georgia.
The service was wonderful and our meal was exceptional! This was a great anniversary dinner - - we started with a cocktail from the bar (highly recommend the blueberry lemon drop martini); bread was served and then our dinner arrived which was cooked to perfection (I had the filet mignon and and my husband had a savory chicken dish); we splurged with chocolate mousse and creme brulee for dessert. I would definitely recommend Lake Rabun Restaurant for any occasion.
Lake Rabun Hotel is such a wonderful dining venue. We try to get here as often as we can, and its a special place to celebrate any occasion. Make reservations in advance and request corner seating or the red room.
Wonderful food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We sat on the patio... It was lovely. Must try the pimento cheese fritters and the biegnets.
It is great to live within a half mile in of a 96 year old lake lodge with fine dining restaurant. My guests come ready to return to the Lake Rabun Hotel and Restaurant.
The new chef has Rabun back where they usually are ,,,,,,, very unique specials along with menu items that can be enjoyed more than once. Service as always is top notch.
The Rabun Hotel is a wonderful spot for any occasion. The cozy ambience is matched by the friendly, attentive service and scrumptious food.
We love this place! The ambiance is rustic, relaxed and friendly and the food is delicious! Rabun is a high end area that I have heard called “Where Buckhead goes on vacation.” I can see why Buckhead would go on vacation here- it is lovely!
Food was very tasty but felt the value was not quite inline with the cost vs experience. Drinks were expensive and seemed weak. The next day had drinks from the bar and they were significantly stronger/different.
The food was very good. The desserts were amazing. But I could've been eating a peanut butter sandwich and been very content surrounded by the quaint rustic charm of the hotel. Love the atmosphere.
Such a cozy, fun spot ! The food was great and the service very good. We enjoy the ambiance, the staff, and location. We have never been disappointed ! I would highly recommend.
We had a lovely dinner with our daughter who was on spring break. The scallop special and the cobbler with homemade cinnamon swirl ice cream were excellent! Very special location and Sam is an awesome server!
The food is marvelous
The staff is friendly and competent
