Lake Elmo Inn Ratings and Reviews
Always enjoy a relaxing meal with good food, good service and ambience at Lake Elmo Inn. There are items on the menu that are not mainstream that we enjoy, i.e. duck. On our last visit I particularly enjoyed the blue marlin. Always a lovely dining experience at Lake Elmo Inn.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. Staff is professional and have personal interaction with dinners. Our waiter Bob had a sense of humor but still professional. It is a place that has enough lighting so you can actually see what you are eating and even with 2 small groups in the room we were able to have good conversation. Family group seemed to enjoy their group dinner (table not far from ours).
We have to drive a ways but always feel it is worth the drive especially for our anniversary for which we got some champagne to help celebrate.
Way too crowded. Packed like sardines. Couldn’t move between tables very well. For the high price of their Sunday brunch there should be less congestion. Was a special occasion and we had 7 at a table that barely fit 6. Seemed like chaos too. Cut down on packing them in for better ambiance.
Our group of 5 was celebrating a family and friends get together. Also celebrating one of our family member's birthday. Started with great cocktails various blends of old fashions - Moscow and Kentucky mules very well prepared. All our entrees were fabulous - well presented - the prime rib was perfect each as we preferred - birthday girl loved the lobster ravioli it came with pasta and full lobster tail - filet excellent and prawn pasta dish awesome all enjoyed with bottle of wine. Dessert with champagne for table celebrating birthday along with chocolate covered strawberries and excellent coffee topped of f a wonderful meal. Our server Jackie made us all feel special refreshing our cocktails, coffee, bringing our palate cleansers and hot towels before dessert. She checked back with us during meal even tho she had several table to serve. Our table was cleared promptly by a friendly efficient bus boy. Each aspect of the meal faboulous and overall wonderful. Our last visit had been so great we wanted to share this visit with friends who drove from Rochester and we from WI - all agreed the drive well worth it and will visit again soon!
NY Day Brunch with granddaughter and her husband from out of town. So many choices but the Duck was perfect. Our granddaughter grew up with grandpa making duck on the grill each Christmas. The duck was a surprise... absolutely delicious as was the prime rib and wild rice. Could not try everything. REALLY appreciate the Valet service.
The New Years Day brunch was fantastic at a reasonable price. There were many food options, with some standard and some unique. The food was well prepared. The facility was able to handle a good sized crowd, and the service was very attentive and quickly available.
We have dined at Lake Elmo Inn on countless occasions. I cannot think of a bad or even mediocre experience. THIS however was an exception. My meal was very undercooked, my wife's dinner was cold and also undercooked. The occasion was New Year's eve. The restaurant was very festive and very busy. I understand all of that. But this dinner was a total flop. Will we return? Yes, absolutely, we love the Inn but even they are not perfect. The poor quality dinner and disappointment cast a sour mood on the whole evening.
This was our first time at Lake Elmo Inn Restaurant and we absolutely loved it! We went there for a lunch and have ended up booking our rehearsal dinner for our wedding there. The wait staff was so courteous, the food was fresh and cooked to perfection, the Christmas decorations were so unique, and the lunch prices were very reasonable. We have already referred other people to try it out and we can't wait to come back!
Everything from the reservation, confirmation, seating, service from Sheryl, decor, and food was simply outstanding. We loved everything about our experience, and we will absolutely put this on our "special outing" list. Thank you for the great attention to detail.
Overall a little disappointed. We've been there before and were really happy but not this time. Lunch menu doesn't include our favorite (chicken cashew stir fry) anymore. I tried the salmon burger instead and it lacked flavor and was quite dry. My wife did the turkey club which was OK but overpriced - not that much better than other places. Service was slow, too.
