Lake Elmo Inn Ratings and Reviews
Lake Elmo Inn is always a sure bet for a wonderful dinner. The atmosphere is old-fashioned, sophisticated but not pretentious, and very relaxed. We did not check out the wine list but chose instead a relaxing mixed drink before dinner. The food is always good, including many familiar comfort foods (we both had prime ribs of beef), but the menu is varied, and there's something for everyone. I especially appreciate that vegetables are prepared not simply as a second-thought add-on, but are slightly al dente, beautifully seasoned, and fresh tasting. Desserts are also varied from humble bread puddings to carrot cake to creative and decadent combinations of ingredients (check out the Sin of the Inn.) Overall, we had a lovely time, and one of the main reasons we chose the Lake Elmo Inn was because we knew beforehand that we would not be disappointed.
A wonderful atmosphere . The food is always beautifully presented and outstanding in quality. To make our visit additionally special, the wait service was knowledgeable and efficient. The Lake Elmo Inn is a delightful and unique restaurant and a favorite of our family and friends!
Celebrated our Anniversary at Elmo...and had an absolutely wonderful evening! Cocktails were exceptional & Food was just perfect. It was pretty noisy - Sat in the Bar area (our preferred seating) - and the Bar Areawas hopping!!!
Thank you Lisa & Curtis - what a super evening!
Lake Elmo Inn is our go-to restaurant for special occasions. I'm a vegetarian, and while the menu is heavy on the steaks and seafood, their vegetarian platter is amazing and may be the best vegetarian meal in the region. The wine list is excellent and the service is superb.
Our group was there on a Monday, which is Seniors day. Very, very busy. The service was a bit slow, but given that pretty everyone there were seniors and there for the senior discount, none of my group minded. As usual, the food was excellent, waitress (Maureen) was very good and very pleasant. Highly recommend Lake Elmo Inn.
We had a lovely brunch on Sunday. The smoked salmon was some of the best I've ever had. The chilled shrimp were perfectly cooked with delicious cocktail sauce. We had fried chicken which was tremendous. The only thing I didn't care for was the beef. The piece I was served was so tough I couldn't cut it with my table knife. I did struggle a piece off, and the flavor was great but I chewed for a Long.....time, very tough. I ended up leaving it on the plate as I didn't have a sharp enough knife to cut it. Next time I will let the carver person know and see if he could find me a more tender piece. Except for the beef I thought the ambiance was char-ming the food delicious and the service was great! Our server was Judy and she was great
We love the lake Elmo Inn, love Server BOB when he's around, and truly love the food, the look of the decor, the fantastic Steaks and Prime rib, and the many varieties of Special Menus. We don't come nearly as much as a wealthy folks would, but we appreciate being recognized by so many of the Staff which is pretty neat!!! Thanks, always a fun time,
