Laishley Crab House Ratings and Reviews
We both had surf and turf. My king ran kegs tasted fishy and the fillet minon was soooo undercooked.we asked for it to be cooked medium with no blood and it was raw in the middle. Also, the green fried tomatoes tasted like the oil was old and dirty. My husbands lobster was perfect as well as his baked potato. The pitcher of draft was very cold and the view was beautiful
Rachel was our server and did a good job of helping decide, was attentive but not too attentive!
We had coconut shrimp platter, salmon and stuffed shrimp. All meals were served quickly, hot and they were all very good flavored. We also liked the she crab soup. Not the best we have had but very tasty. We sat inside but would definitely go back in warmer weather and try outside on the water for view.
Have been to this restaurant 4 times since moving here a year ago. I find their food to be very inconsistent. First two times the sushi was excellent & the last two times was just fair. On two occasions my guests sent back their food (some cooked fish dishes).as it just wasn’r Good.
have been here several times; always great! We were asked if we wanted inside or outside. As it was a chilly day in Florida, the hostess gave us time to check out the outside seating area before making our decision of a table. Our waiter couldn't have been more attentive. I had the shrimp rollup and it was out of this world.
Unfortunately the menu and the taste factor went from bad to worse in the past year we started dining at Lashley's three years ago it was fabulous, but apparently a chef left and took some fabulous signature plates so we persevered.chicken for salads always overlooked . we were there two days ago and the crab pile appetizer Was bland -sushi and sushi me was the wrong kind of rice and again blamd.the pasta Primavera- tasteless .
Great location /disappointing meals.
Our friends from Englewood were excited to make a return visit to one of our favorite Punta Gorda restaurants. They shared the Lobster, lobster, lobster and were delighted with the portion size and presentation. The lobster risotto was delicious as was the She crab soup and clam chowder. Everything was great except the weather but we enjoyed our time at Laishley Crab House anyway.
We had reservations and were seated right away. The waitress started out being attentive but as the dinner drug on we saw less of her. Our order come our incorrectly and we never received an apology from anyone including the waitress. My husband's food came out 15 minutes after the rest of the tables. The food was not as good as it has been in the past--we had stuffed shrimp, King crab legs and 2 shrimp platters. The food lacked in flavor and presentation. I would have told anyone the same last night but no one asked--including our waitress. Overall a disappointing experience. We were fans of Laishleys.
Normally Laishley's crab house is great, however, the service was terrribly slow on this occasion. There were 5 of us. The restaurant was not full, the balcony was, but the inside was practically empty. I had one glass of beer, she crab soup, and a shrimp wrap. I was sick within an hour of departure and spent the rest of the evening back and forth to the bathroom. My throat was so sore that I was unable to talk or eat until noon the following day. This was a $100 plus tab for the five of us and it will be a while, if ever, that I will return.
-unusually attractive handcrafted seaside decor ;
outstanding harbor side view
-menu is well composed, facilitating decision
making despite many options
-server was very competent, amiable, able to assist
-excellent sushi/sashimi; flavors fresh, subtle;
-tuna, lobster entrees much enjoyed
-superb key lime pie
Our seafood loving grandson from the northern coast of the US was delighted with his meal We were so glad to bring him here.
CAN’T WAIT TO RETURN!!!
Went especially for the King Crab bucket special that night, $35. Price was ok but they were not split (server did offer to help) which made for a messy meal. Dinner came with hushpuppies, corn, and potatoes. Food and service was not good enough to make us go back.
I booked through Open Table requesting a good view of the harbor, but was first lead to a table over viewing Laishley Park. Requested a move, and at first they were hesitiant — they were not overly busy at 4:50 pm. The appetizer of Crab/Spinach was good, but believe me there was little crab—must have missed the net. Conch Fritters were excellent. Rest of meal was good. I must say they were busy on the “group” side of the house as there was a large party.
the setting is casual and with a great location. Menu is generous and nice seafood variety. Unfortunately our food was not hot and really not very warm. Tasted pretty good. Grouper Oscar was good portion. The chicken Tuscan pretty disappointing. Service was generally very good; could have offered refills of water and tea a bit more often.
I'd go back again hoping it was just bad timing for the cook.
I have gone here in the past and thought it was great. This time the food was OK but nothing special. The fish on my seafood platter did not taste good - a very strong taste. All in all I feel it is way overpriced for the meal we got. I am crossing it off my list.
