Food was really good and the service was wonderful. I went with just my husband and I and I would go back but other a larger group so we can try more dishes.
Food was delicious and authentic! The place is quiet, which is nice because you can have conversations without having to strain your voice. Kung pao chicken and the battered fried jumbo prawns are excellent.
New Years Day dim sum.
Nos gustó mucho la comida y el servicio . La decoración un poco fría y pobre para un restaurante de este nivel . Los precios un poco caros pero en general Toronto está muy caro .
Food and service was excellent as always, this continues to be one of our favourite restaurants in Toronto.
Duck was cold
returning for good food and friendly service always reliable
Was ok, needed upkeep. Service wasn’t exceptional, food was overpriced but good.
It’s been many years since I last went to this restaurant. I’m glad I took the time to book this for Christmas Day. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was outstanding. This place continues to be as good as it has always been.
As always, the restaurant excelled at decor, service, and courtesy.
We ordered the Peking Duck prix fixe which involved courses of duck wraps, rainbow in a crystal fold and a sweet and sour soup,
However the final dish, which was chopped lobster in-shell mixed with flavorless sauce and noodles almost ruined the experience.
I've had this dinner before where the final course was the best fried rice I've ever had, and they did themselves a disservice for this change in menu.
Having heard such good things, I have to admit it didn’t live up to the billing. The beef had so many onions, not really any better than what you would get on Spadina. The lobster was ok except at the noodles were stuck to the bottom, not burnt exactly but pretty close. For the cost ($100/ person) it was not as good as expected. The appetizers were very good. The mains disappointed.
I booked the restaurant because it accepted party of ten for Christmas get together. I have not seen my family since the Christmas of 2019 so it was nice to be able to catch up and eating lunch together.
We were surprised how beautiful the restaurant is. The decors was simple and elegance. The chair was comfortable. The table for ten was roomy where we did not bump into each other elbows.
I kind of ordered more than I should but I wanted everyone to try all the dim sum menu. The foods came one type at a times and by midway, we were so full already and still have more to come. We managed to try each of the dim sum we ordered. The shrimp har kau was perfectly done. The skin was glistening and clear, the shrimp was tender and juicy. The shuimai was delicious well balance. The turnip pastry, the abalone porridge, the shrimp cheong fan, mushroom cheong fan, and others are all prepared perfectly.
If you get the chance to visit try any items on the menu and you will not be disappointed.
Wonderful times spent with the family accompanied with wonderful meals.
3rd time here and planning to come back soon.
Chef is very attentive to details. Dim Sum is the best quality in town with very reasonable prices. Service staff was awesome. Reno is a bit dated but food and service are all that matters.
The food is delicious however the washroom needs to be improved.
Was so hungry when we got to the restaurant that we ordered the special prix fixe menu for dim sum. Everything was delicious! My only complaint which isn’t a compliant per se is that there was too much shrimp in the prix fixe dim sum special.
I saw both menus but In hindsight I would’ve preferred more variety such as the wagyu beef balls, pork Cheung Fun, Siu Mai.....would definitely go back again. Amazing service and great staff!
while the services aims to be quick, they could be more helpful during the COVID screening and in their service delivery.
The food was generally good, but a few dishes were quite basic.
The decor needs some attention as it is rather run down--spite having some nice features.
I found the dim sum very average, even the few unique options. They tasted no better, and sometimes less flavorful, than what you would expect at a hole in the wheel type place. Also both the steamed and fried options were very doughy, not at all light.
Thanks for a lovely birthday experience!
We will be back for the next family birthday for sure.
We’ve been eating here for the last 11 years and the quality is always the best!
Our second time here and we like their dimsum. Special dishes, different from the usual dimsum menus. Waitress seemed bit dry, but otherwise food is good so we will go back.
We had the duck course, mango dessert and rice roll with red bean. Everything was delicious. Except the tea. The tea had a bit of weird sour after taste which I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be like that. The service was excellent. But it is a bit pricey.
In a city full of “hot new restaurants” that are impossible to get into, with mediocre food and atrocious service, Lai Wah Heen is a breath of fresh air.
As always, LWH never disappoints. Outstanding dim sum, and excellent service. N o one does it better in downtown TO.
Always excellent food and refined service. We love the Mu Shu and the seafood. Parking in the building for $5.00.
Staff was great with service and the food is incredible
pleasant restaurant that could use a little spit and polish, but nice enough. I liked the art work!
Has been outstanding since 1995.
I have eaten there hundreds of times and it has always been excellent.
Incredible service. Delicious food and not too noisy. A perfect evening. Thank you to the wonderful staff!
A truly wonderful experience. Very authentic. Staff very professional and attentive. Food is exceptional.
Highly recommend for authentic dim sum and dinner, excellent service.
Food and service excellent. Was wondering how it would be after closures etc but was as great as always. Attentive and the food was outstanding. Hot and sour soup. Crab claw. And of course THE DUCK!!
Will be back soon
Very disappointing. As people with a love and knowledge of Chinese cuisine, we were disappointed by the quality of some of the dishes and felt we were definitely put into the‘ignorant foreign tourist’ bracket. We will certainly not be returning
We were welcomed very warmly and ushered in.
The service was impeccable and our server was very attentive and helpful. He certainly added to the great experience including his flair of serving, especially the Peking duck.
The food was perfectly cooked and stylishly served. We ordered the dinner for 4 which was more than sufficient and included expensive items like duck, lobster and giant shrimp!
Will definitely recommend for any special or intimate occasion.
Very difficult to navigate parking. One patron in wheelchair and it is not an accessible friendly place.
Very mediocre dim-sum and overpriced. You have superior experience in many uptown digs.
Not going to return.
Great food, great service. Always so consistent with their quality
Unique dim sum dishes, excellent service
Favourites include the dim sum, stir fried wagyu beef in garlic and supreme soy sauce, kung pao chicken, butterflied lobster with noodles. Quality is exceptional with all the sauces made from scratch. Broths are clear and tasty.
Great food, could’ve used more servers. Fried wild rice and dim sum platter was yummy.
Amazing food, totally recommend the Shanghai Crab
