Very tasty fish taco's
During our week in Maui, we only returned to the same restaurant twice, and that was the Old Lahaina Fish Co. The food is marvelous and the view is the stuff of legends. If you are staying in Lahaina/ Kaanapali for any length of time, you have to have a meal at Old Lahaina.
Service slow on drinks, food was cold, waiter was weird and we will never go back.
Awesome meal! Started with a most delicious Martini. Then my husband and I shared the strawberry salad. It tasted as amazing as it looked. Yes it is large and very shareable. Hated to be cliche’, but I had the Mahi Mahi. It was flavorful and perfectly cooked. And because it was my birthday, they gave me a choice of any dessert on the menu! Had me at chocolate mousse! Best dinner here by far.
Our waitress (Sydney?) (Table 101, at 5:30 pm on 1/17) was easily the best waitress we’ve ever have served us and we’ve traveled to 49/50 states and lived in Europe for 7 years. She’s WONDERFUL!
the food was mediocre, expensive, and disappointing. scallops not done enough, prime rib "stew meat", and a very expensive ahi salad. so many other places we could eat for a lot less $ and better food.
Fresh fish dishes delicious
Have eaten here over the years. Very good food- weak drinks. I guess you can’t have it all. I definitely recommend the fish here.
Aloha Bob, mahalo for being a repeat guest. We appreciate your support! As for the drinks, we can only add the amount of alcohol allowed by law, but please let us know if something doesn't taste right to you. We'd rather replace your item and have you be happy. Hope to see you here again soon!
Made reservations ahead of time and got a great table overlooking the water! A light illuminated the water so we could see the fish swimming. Atmosphere was casual, friendly and service was great. Calamari appetizer and seafood chowder delicious. Entrees included grilled opah, cajun spiced opah, grilled ono, and seafood paella were all very good and all the flavors melded well together. Would definitely return! They also validate parking at nearby outlet parking lot. (wish we had known beforehand)
The food wss very good the table front sea atmosphere and service very good
Beautiful view..restaurant needs to be fixed up..getting run down and showing.
Ahi Tuna was fatty and tough
I wanted to love this place, but compared to a few other spots in Maui, I would say it was just ok and nothing all that special.
Well, we are going to try and change things so that in the future, when you want to give us a chance again, you will find things vastly improved. Do you remember any specifics you could provide to help us improve?
Staff so considerate and helpful. Our favorite was the Mahi-mahi macadamia crusted fish.
Fabulous view of sunset over Ma'aloki from their waterfront deck. Food was great!! Service was just OK, but server (we'll keep his name to ourselves) did have lots of tables seated simultaneously at 5:30, so well cut him some slack. Water and bread server, Nick, was great!
The best food on our trip so far!
Christmas Eve dinner again for our family. Love coming here for holiday meals.
We love that you've made us part of your holiday tradition. We appreciate you for that!
Our family of 5 spent the Christmas holiday in Lahaina so I booked Lahaina Fish Co. for dinner and it did not disappoint. We all had an excellent meal!! We started with the fried calimari for an appetizer and it was, by far, the best I've ever had. I think my boys both ordered the Ono fish dinner special, my daughter had the scallops and my husband and I each ordered another fish (I can't remember but I think I had snapper - whatever I ate I remember it being delicious!). The service was great too, although as it got busier and our waitress was less attentive but totally understandable. We still loved it! A tad expensive but it was kind of expected for Hawaii.
We loved everything about Lahaina Dish company.
It was my daughters birthday and we got the table with a view.
The server was very knowledgeable and helpful and patient with our teenagers that weren’t sure what to get.
The drinks were pricey but very good.
Try the macadamia nut crusted fish. It was the best out of all our different dishes we got.
Overall, we loved it and would love to come back!
Great food! Great view! Loved it😊
The macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi was breaded all over and fried. It tasted like oil and had a small amount of fish inside the breading. You can get much better quality fish and the same dish at a lower price that is AMAZING at other restaurants.
I waited for 45 minutes to have the waiter finally come over to take my order. The manager apologized and comped my dinner. If it were not for the Ahi Tuna I would have walked out. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. They definitely need a class in proper service
Best poke (tacos) ever. Huge salads. So many veggie options. Yum!
Would have been better without the big group. Very load
The location was beautiful but the food quality was poor. We ordered the Opah fish and the ribs. The fish was overcooked and bland. The ribs were chewy and not tender. We also ordered a beet and arugula salad that was just okay, heavy on the arugula, light on the beets. We would not recommend this restaurant.
Great spot! We had the Mac Nut Mahi and the Ono special. Both were delicious and the macadamia pie is amazing.
The only thing that brought service to 4 stars is they had a brand new handheld ordering system and the waiter had to take our order twice, didn’t put in the macadamia pie so we waited a bit and then tried to double charge us for the appetizer. But all very understandable on a new system so don’t let that hold you back. Worth the visit.
Great view and the service was amazing. We enjoyed the sun set over Lanai and watching “Bob” the puffer fish from our table. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal but I wasn’t feeling the prime rib. The server and the manager were quick to address and offer alternatives. Definitely recommend this place and will go back again.
Overall not impressed with this restaurant. Quality/ price ratio was not there.
Disappointment. We were recommended to have dinner at the Fish Co. because of the view at sunset which was truly delightful. From there on it was downhill. The muscles in the appetizer were rubbery and the sauce was bland. The arugula and beet salad was all greens with very little beets. The lau lau entree arrived soon after we started the salad and, apart from salt, was tasteless. We felt rushed from beginning to end, which was surprising as the restaurant was only half full. There are many other places to experience the sunset without being rushed through a mediocre meal.
Our evening at Lahaina Fish, as always, was excellent. The food was wonderful, we were fortunate to arrive for a table on the railing, and Walter, our waiter and Juan, assistant waiter were most cordial, friendly and efficient...as always. We also were happy to see Asst Manager Steve, who is always kind and greets us like we are part of the “ohana.” We do feel that way, which is another reason we keep going back. Thanks to all for our wonderful dinner!
The pork ribs were wonderful. The fish was flavorless and bland. The worst meal we had on the island!
We ordered the “Award Winning” Prime Rib surf and turf for Thanksgiving dinner. Must have been a Participation trophy because it was terrible. Well overdone, sent my meal back, which I’ve never done and the new plate came out exactly the same, overdone. Garlic mashed potatoes tasted like watered down dehydrated spuds from a box. The surf portion was 3 medium grilled shrimp, which was a $11 or $18 extra...Can’t remember which but either way...ridiculous! Just overall worst dinner during our 11 days on island. Restaurant wasn’t particularly busy and to their credit they comp’d a portion of the meal but still cost $120 incl tip. Cool spot over the water but people throwing food in the water to feed the fish was alittle unnecessary. Not sure we’ll go back on our next trip to Lahaina, I certainly won’t order the PR.
Location and view are everything. Food is over priced and not very good. Disappointing. Would not recommend with ask the other options around that area.
Service was outstanding, food was below average at best. Best thing we ate was Brussels sprouts.
Great service.....waterfront view was fantastic.....food very tasty....thanksgiving day lunch.
Food, service and location/ambiance were wonderful. The main course came out too soon after the salad but that’s the only blip on a great meal.
Greatly disappointed. Arrived starving and literally willing to eat almost anything. We ordered two appetizers: calamari and cocktail shrimp. My fiancée took one bite of the shrimp and had to dispose of eat in a napkin. I told the waiter, “this shrimp is not fresh and has a bad smell.” Instead of offering to make the situation right or apologizing, he simply took it back as if to say, “sorry, you’re not the first.” We closed our ticket and no one even came by to say “ we are sorry, here’s a coupon etc.”. Zero.
I don’t care if the restaurant is on the water, seafood has to be fresh and properly prepared. To say I’m disappointed, is an understatement given that we are on an island surrounded by fish/shrimp etc.
I do not recommend this place at all.
Edward, thank you for letting us know a product wasn't fresh. Our chef starts every day ensuring the quality of what we serve so I am surprised to hear we served something deemed "bad". But you were served something not to your liking, and for that I apologize. That should have been taken care of immediately. If you'd consider returning and letting us change your perception of us, we'd appreciate the chance. Otherwise, may I have the order number from your receipt so other action can be taken.
Great venue overlooking the water. Food was excellent and service as well
We enjoyed so much we are going back!
The view can't be beat and the food was delicious. They bring warm bread to start that is melt in your mouth. We shared a wedge salad and the ono special, then topped it off with their version of key lime pie. This was our second visit and we'll be back!
It was ok. We had a great table upstairs. Service was great. We found the food to be pretty good. Our fish dishes were just ok- would prefer in future to have lunch here rather than dinner.
Mahalo for letting us know about your experience. We look forward to providing you a wonderful, oceanside lunch in the near future.
