Our home away from home thanks to the staff and welcoming family environment. Fave burger and chicken for the kids, and Parents more than happy with oysters, Sancerre and whatever else we fancy.
Everything was great and all (food, drinks, ambiance, decor) however I can here for my birthday. I booked it for a special occasion the restaurant even send out an application when you confirm the reservation where you’d describe why you’re coming to the restaurant. I said multiple times that it was my birthday. It wasn’t noticed during the reservation. No one brought out anything with a candle. No one even offered us dessert. The waiter just gave us the bill without even us asking for it, and we felt like we were getting kicked out and couldn’t even celebrate my birthday and sing happy birthday. I’m really upset about the whole situation.
Food was great. Service was quick.
Always on point!
excellent french bistro
a fabulous night!
Excellent wines. and cheeses, good for groups or couples
Lafayette is always fun and energetic. Great food, authentic French atmosphere, and amazing food. Can get quite loud at lunch. Dr.A
Our waiter was fantastic and the food was delicious!
Thank you Alex.
Service and food were excellent. Will definitely be back
Too noisy. Food was ok in terms of being served hot. However no need to provide such a quantity of scrambled eggs. À bit disgusting .
Love the food and Ambience there but we got really unlucky with our service. We were sat at 3 pm. Got water and wine and the server didn’t even take our order yet for food. At 3:20 the hostess came and snapped the brunch menu out of our hands and gave us the lunch menu. And I was just like excuse me and she said the last call for brunch is over and I asked her what time does brunch finish and she said 3:30pm and I told her it’s 3:20pm!
So she walked away and came back with the brunch menus and let us order. We had a few things (most things were “out”). And 2 orders of their lemon pancakes. Our servers seems very young and inexperienced. One mentioned he didn’t want to be screamed at by the chef and double checked out order twice. We told him you should never let anyone scream at you. When the pancakes came one looked amazing and the other one just looked poor, like they didn’t have enough berries etc. also they were cold.
Very very disappointed since I used to love going their for brunch.
Perfect diner out with friends!
Excellent French Food Restaurant, the staff is very friendly and professional, the place is stylish and elegant with beautiful European detailed decoration.
The food is delicious, my husband and I tried the bacon Brussels sprouts, the lamb tajine and the Roasted duck.
We’ll definitely go back for more.
I love to visit this restaurant when I’m in town. I also know that they use really good ingredients in their food. The coffee’s are excellent. When I visit New York I make a point of eating here at least once. If you don’t have time for a meal you can always visit their bakery section which is also very good.
Come here very year for Valentine’s Day. The service is amazing as always and the food never disappoints
We were referred here a couple of years ago by a bartender while visiting NYC......Suggested we come for the Croque Madame. We did and it was amazing. Two years later, we were back in NYC for our wedding anniversary and brunch at Lafayette was on our list of things to do. The Croque Madame was just as delicious as we remembered. Service is impeccable. Restaurant is charming. We wish we lived closer so we could try more things on the menu. Definitely one of my most memorable brunches - ever.
Great food, very personable service, good atmosphere.
We had a great time to enjoy the good food in Lafayette.
Streak frites and wine are delicious the outdoor space is perfection.
The duck is absolutely perfect in every way!
Very nice decor, excellent service and food. Would definitely recommend it.
Food was great. A little pricey without restaurant week menu.
Always reliable brunch spot
Lafayette has been my favorite restaurant for years, and this visit was no different. The food is excellent, the cocktails are delightful, and it doesn’t try to be anything it’s not.
Too dark had a hard time reading the menu
Restaurant week was a good way to try out a few courses for a good price. Great service and food.
Staff was pleasant enough and professional . I took my niece for dinner after seeing the blue man group . The ambiance was satisfying . We were greeted at the door immediately by a pleasant young man . The restaurant was not busy . It was an early Sunday eve . The food came out very quickly . The presentation was blah . The food looked and tasted like it had been sitting awhile . Not fresh at all . The French onion soup had a rich flavor . The shank of beef was one bite of meat . I ordered the Brussels sprouts with smoked bacon . Nothing special and too salty .My niece ordered the black macaroni with seafood and tomato sauce . The cuttle fish was overly chewy and the sauce was very unbalanced with an overwhelming lemon flavor . I skipped on dessert because of the extravagant price and the uncertainty of freshness . They have an attached bakery and I felt the dessert may have been sitting for awhile .Overall I was disappointed . The price charged was not worth it .
I was looking forward to the French toast, but they ran out. This seems to be a popular dish, therefore it should be available until brunch is over.
I have always liked Lafayette. And I have recommended it to many folks including clients. But this time it was so disappointing.
Good food, but overpriced for what it is. Nice atmosphere and fairly quiet. Attentive service.
Great food. Quieter than the likes of Smith, so is pleasant to talk. Bit expensive - good for a treat.
My family and I have dined here multiple times over the last few years and have always had great experiences here. Warm and welcoming, the staff is friendly and attentive, the food always top notch. French standards plus specials always done to perfection. Prices are not inexpensive but for what you get they are totally worth it. Don’t forget desert. Fantastic pastries and specials. Have never had anything that wasn’t great.
Great service! From hostess to wait staff, everyone was so lovely. Food was delicious and casual French, great option for brunch with a friend or a larger group.
Never disappointed at Lafayette. Food is great and they are so accommodating! Baked goods are the best.
Food, wine and service were great. The place is a bit too noisy.
Stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday and was a bit more than what we were looking for. Initially we were looking for a quick bite, but we were so glad we stayed. The restaurant decor is very French feeling and the food was delicious. We had the lemon pancakes with fresh berries and Anson Mills oatmeal. Nothing fancy, but man were they scrumptious. The pancakes were substantial with the best berry compote on top. Didn't even need syrup. I love the oatmeal for it's simplicity, and the fruit stewed in cognac were superb! I would definitely go back and loved the location. Only fault was slow service for the check because they were having printer issues. Otherwise, a great choice!
Great meal, service was a bit lackluster.
Delish authentic French food - unexpected in the US. Very good service, beautiful room, great vibe. Loved it!
