Having been a patron at least once a week from opening to the pandemic closing this was my return dinner with friends. Service was terrible, the waitress was terrible, failing to take drink orders , delays in taking food orders, failing to get all appetizers served at same time with one forgotten and finally failing to put in my main course order. The service could not have been worse. The manager attempted to deal with this offering some desserts which were appreciated. Unfortunately evidently my go to restaurant has not recovered from the pandemic and I will find a new local standby . What a disappointment!
Liked it! Food was great and service ver nice.
Went on a Saturday for brunch, and indoors was VERY loud to the point I had to yell to talk to the person across the table from me. Otherwise, everything was great!
Hissing hostess ruined the mood. Not coming back again.
Gracious service and excellent food. Their scrambled eggs are super luscious and the best in the city
Always love restaurant, but this pandemic reducing the menu items is not acceptable anymore.
My wife could not enjoy her chicken salad and I could not enjoy the prime rib roast sandwich.
I go to a restaurant for the food.
I cannot eat the atmosphere.
I hope things really get back to normal.
If this is the new normal please accept my condolences.
Overall a mediocre experience. Service was slow at the beginning so took 25 min to get first round of drinks and then service was overly prompt at the end when they wanted us to pay the bill. Food was just OK. Appetizers were better than our entrees.
Our server was amazing. Failed to ask his name but he’s blonde/light hair and so incredibly nice.
Great place! The outdoor patio is beautiful. Lemon pancakes were super fluffy and delicious, and the burger was also fantastic. Definitely would come again.
Love Lafayette but this was a poor experience. All our food arrived cold. Wait staff forgot about us after food was delivered. Not sure if they are understaffed or we were just ‘lucky’
One of my favorite brunch spots. Dinner is a superb experience here as well but the brunch, in the bright & airy room, is a perfect Sunday recharge. Order the bread basket to start. The pain au chocolat is to die for
Sat outside on A beautiful night. Food was great, especially the endive salad. Portable speaker was positioned right next to our table and the volume of the music fluctuated, at times making conversation impossible. No need for music outside unless there is a quality sound system.
Lafayette is always a wonderful experience, the food never disappoints and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
Waiters are entirely overworked. Waiter to guest ratio completely off. The waiters were literally running from table to table. At these prices, hire more waiters!!!
It was great except not all outdoor seating is the same so be specific (sun, shade, on the sidewalk side, against the wall) when you book.
We had a lovely meal with great staff and delicious food. As always.
It was lovely. The hostess sat us right away. Everything was clean and social distance was happening. It was wonderful
The food was excellent although I hope they expand the menu which seems limited in choices. The service started out very weak. Eventually our server was replaced by someone who was much more attentive. I had the escargot, the scallops and the Mille Feuille, hazelnut creme legere for dessert. I enjoyed every bite of everything I had.
Very nice to be back at Lafayette. With the restrictions imposed by NYC, the place was very quiet - which at least made it easy to talk! The food was good as usual, and the service attentive.
Delicious food and great service, great french food in NYC
Love this place. Yummy food and service.
Small brunch menu
As always, exquisite food and service. Making to my son's 16th birthday memorable will always be cherished.
I continue to sing Lafayette praises amongst my friends, and have brought some to the restaurant to experience the magic firsthand.
I hope that the bakery reopens soon (I'm assuming it's covid-related) because I was a bit dismayed to not see the goodies in yhe glass display to the right of the entrance.
Otherwise, all was well in this stellar establishment. It was nice to be back.
Great place for breakfast and lunch.
Price a little bit steep for Manhattan, like as if I am dining in midtown. Best. Onion. Soup ever. The short rib burger was very good.
The food was great and the restaurant was really gorgeous overall. It was a little bit loud around us while we were eating but other than that I would recommend!
Go! You'll have fun and be plenty safe. Great job by all.
Service and food were great as usual. We sat outside which was lovely. We did have to wait almost 45 mins despite having a reservation which was frustrating.
More lunch options than breakfast/brunch. Great atmosphere
We had a good experience during Covid-19 times. Temperature taken upon arrival and socially distanced from tables. Wished the menu was more diverse and more selections. We like red wine but no Cabernet selections. Enjoyed the ambience and incredible servie though.
Loved it. Great bread and the atmosphere with outdoor tents beautiful
The fondue was amazing !!!
Dylan the server was really good and his recommendations were superb !! Coming back for sure
Quality food, excellent service. Cristian was outstanding as always.
Loved our Christmas lunch!!! Every thing was festive and friendly!
I love this place! What a perfect Christmas Eve for 2020.
Neighborhood staple. Love it so much.
There should be a wind barrier to shield customers just a little from the wind coming from north and south and East and west. It’s a lot when you are at the corner table.
