Lafayette

It was great except not all outdoor seating is the same so be specific (sun, shade, on the sidewalk side, against the wall) when you book.

We had a lovely meal with great staff and delicious food. As always.

The food was excellent although I hope they expand the menu which seems limited in choices. The service started out very weak. Eventually our server was replaced by someone who was much more attentive. I had the escargot, the scallops and the Mille Feuille, hazelnut creme legere for dessert. I enjoyed every bite of everything I had.

Very nice to be back at Lafayette. With the restrictions imposed by NYC, the place was very quiet - which at least made it easy to talk! The food was good as usual, and the service attentive.

Small brunch menu

As always, exquisite food and service. Making to my son's 16th birthday memorable will always be cherished.

I continue to sing Lafayette praises amongst my friends, and have brought some to the restaurant to experience the magic firsthand.

I hope that the bakery reopens soon (I'm assuming it's covid-related) because I was a bit dismayed to not see the goodies in yhe glass display to the right of the entrance.

Otherwise, all was well in this stellar establishment. It was nice to be back.

The food was great and the restaurant was really gorgeous overall. It was a little bit loud around us while we were eating but other than that I would recommend!

Go! You'll have fun and be plenty safe. Great job by all.

Service and food were great as usual. We sat outside which was lovely. We did have to wait almost 45 mins despite having a reservation which was frustrating.

More lunch options than breakfast/brunch. Great atmosphere

We had a good experience during Covid-19 times. Temperature taken upon arrival and socially distanced from tables. Wished the menu was more diverse and more selections. We like red wine but no Cabernet selections. Enjoyed the ambience and incredible servie though.

There should be a wind barrier to shield customers just a little from the wind coming from north and south and East and west. It’s a lot when you are at the corner table.

We had to wait 30+ mins past our reservation time for our table to be ready. Unacceptable.

It was our first time having brunch here, we previously only had dinners. The food and service was impeccable. Under these unprecedented times, it’s comforting to know the team at Lafayette is taking all the necessary precautions to keep everyone both diners and staff safe.

The outdoor dining experience was terrific. Tables were far apart and we appreciated the heat lamps. Hats off for the restaurant's adaptation.

Lovely French brasserie / cafe - one of if not my absolute favorite in NYC. Will always recommend this establishment to anybody looking for a memorable meal or visiting NYC from out of town. They’ve installed heaters outdoors for those that prefer to avoid indoor dining, which work very well. I’ve been to Lafayette upwards of 10 times and have no plans to go elsewhere anytime soon when looking for more upscale French cuisine.

Delicious food, great service

Despite it being a cold and windy night, the strong heaters and street barrier made for a protected and lovely night out. My husband and I split the cheese fondue special which was delicious. Hope it’s a regular on the menu as it’s a definite keeper. The staff as always flawless and friendly. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely thanksgiving dinner. It was a bit pricey for what we got, and the deserts were a bit disappointing, but the food was really good.

Terrible service

We made our lunch reservation for outdoor seating, and the restaurant kindly agreed. When we arrived, one of our party of 3 wanted to sit indoors because of the cold. The staff generously made the change, and we all felt that the ventilation and spacing and masking in the restaurant made us very safe even in the indoor seating.
The food was fabulous--I loved my short rib sandwich--and the staff was as always very courteous and professional. This restaurant always was, and still is, a favorite. We're so glad Lafayette is still open.

Sat outside under heat lamps and enjoyed a wonderful simple meal at Lafayette on a Saturday night! Felt safe. All staff in masks. Everything clean. Good service. Perfect ambiance outside!
