We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Lafayette. Everyone's cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and desserts were well prepared and delicious. The wine selection was impressive. Service was excellent from start to finish. I'd highly recommend going to Lafayette for a wonderful meal in a relaxing atmosphere.

The ambiance is great. The servers were attentive. Overall, the food was nothing to write home about and it’s such a shame. We ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, shakshuka, sweet corn financier, burger, and granola. Know that you are going there for the ambiance, not the food. Like us, if you want to check it out just once, I’d recommend the burger. The best thing about the burger was the fries. I wouldn’t recommend the shakshuka.

We were in SoHo to attend the Ancient Rome pop-up exhibition. We Googled nearby restaurants and are pleased Lafayette came up at the top. Such a pretty, airy venue! The service was exemplary. The food was amazing. I had the duck confit with fig jam, lemony panisse (chickpea fries), and haricorts verts (green beans) with frisee. The combination of textures and flavors was perfect. My friend had the short rib ravioli with tomatoes and bacon - also very tasty. We hope to return to sample some of their bakery items which looked scrumptious.

Lafayette is a great neighborhood spot. There's always a good assortment of dishes. I recommend the scallops, duck confit and skirt steak. And of course the fries. It's a great addition to your meal. Our server, Luis, was attentive and service was fast.

I love going to Lafayette for meetings in between lunch and dinner when the restaurant is pretty empty. And order coffees and an appetizer or dessert. But they make it seem like that’s not allowed unless we want to sit outside which is uncomfortable and sometimes loud for a meeting. So now I need to pick a different location for my meetings.

As usual, it was a lovely dining experience. Service was attentive and helpful. Ambience is lovely. Fortunately, the night we went it was early and quiet. Food is delicious -- well-prepared and tasty. I would recommend every item on the menu. Only problem was that the AC seemed very high and my friend and I were both very cold. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Food is very disappointing. The bakery is good but the hot entrees are truly terrible. I would definitely recommend you save your money. There are so many good restaurants in New York and while I love other restaurants in this group like Bar Primi, I definitely think Lafayette is just bad. The food is simply not good.

Excellent place to bring guests. Anna provided attentive service and Omar, once again, made the evening delightful. We especially enjoyed the oysters, halibut, Brittany prawns and the Gateaux Foret Noire. A neighborhood favorite! We’ll be back.

I drove 2 hours to have brunch in this restaurant and also get the famous croissant but when I got there I realized that even if people have reservation still have to do the line to get the croissant… you guys should have some preference to those that are seating, eating in your restaurant cause is not a separated place! So disappointed, when I finished my food and decided to do the line the croissant I wanted was sold out! Never again, this is the second time I visit them and can’t have the croissant.

I love Lafayette Cafe! The food is great and so is the service. However, I was disappointed that no dessert is served during weekend brunch hours. You have the option of going inside to stand in line to get pastries, but nothing from the dessert menu is available for brunch. At the very least, you shouldn't have to wait in line to get pastries from the bakery if you have been a guest for full meal for the last hour. Your server should be able to bring that to you. As much as I love Lafayette Cafe, I wouldn't go there for weekend brunch again for a special occasion in which I knew I wanted dessert served. A disappointing aspect of an otherwise great restaurant.

We had a great experience. The food was delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is lively and fun. Great place to have brunch with friends. Highly recommend the almond croissant! We eat here every time we come to NYC for the weekend.

The food was good, but not spectacular. I may have had unrealistic expectations but I was just not blown away by the food. It was fine - just not unique or noteworthy. The service was sub-par. Our server was inattentive at best and we ordered beverages before we ordered food, which we did not receive until 10 minutes or so after the food came. I probably wouldn't go back again.

most overpriced, under whelming food. $30 for a mediocre omelette at best. All the food was so over priced. they even charge you for bread. Expected amazing food for the price. should have gone to my local diner. The ambience is nice. save yourself the money and hit their bakery instead. The bakery had a quiche that looked great. (we went in there AFTER eating in the restaurant.

I live around the corner and used to eat the rotisserie chicken salad all the time. I was appalled the last two times I had it. The chicken was tasteless, it used to be unusually delicious. There were barely any greens and the candies walnuts were no longer candied and were very sparse. And they are charging more for this inedible garbage.

Worst experience ever! Food ridiculously expensive and tasteless, but the worst was our waiter: cocky and conceited! I took my mom for what I thought was going to me a great Mother’s Day, and we left the place completely disappointed. I would never ever return to Lafayette!

Host and servers are dialing it in. Fake friendly. Giving worst table and hoping we don’t complain. Then giving just a slightly better table. Servers no knowledge of food. Love this place have been coming since opened which must be in your reservations yet always have the same experience atmosphere and food great, service blah.

A great date night at the bar with incredible appetizers and shared lamb chops. Food was excellent, ambiance perfect, and not so crowded to drown out the conversation. Very relaxing and great customer service. Bar tenders responsive and engaging when required.

Last lunch in nyc.. Our waiter seems to enjoy pretending he doesn’t quite get your Question, I repeated myself numerous times to accommodate his resistance, to being either nice or helpful! Sometimes I wonder , why these people love creating uncomfortable situations. Next time I would request someone else . The prawns , bread & butter were fantastic. The Niçoise …I’ve had better but overall I would go back as the room and bakery treats were a sight to be seen

La experiencia fue amena, aunque hay que esperar muchísimo por sus famosos croissants pero vale la pena, te recomiendo ir a las 2:30 por brunch esperar comer tranquilo y a las 3:30 salir a hacer la fila para obtener los croassants de las 4:00
