Went for Sunday brunch, were seated right away. All the staff were very nice and helpful. Had special soft eggs with Italian white truffles-it was amazing. Food is wonderful at this place
Very good experience here and the coffee is so good!
Our 3rd Thanksgiving at Lafayette. Ryan P. was our server. He pulled a disappearing act on us. Thank goodness there were other servers around because he was terrible. One son enjoyed the steak frites, one said his duck was average and I was disappointed in the turkey. All stuffing, very little turkey. Oysters were very good as were the desserts. Just terrible service. Not impressed and very doubtful that there will be a 4th Thanksgiving at Lafayette.
We have had excellent pasta in the past. This time the duck sauce had too much salt in it. The bread and deserts were excellent. I thought it was pricy for what we received
Great food! But very noisy I’m afraid.....
Celebrating new job
Love coming to this place. Their croissants are amazing. Their steak and eggs is one of my favorite dishes.
Great place, specially for breakfast and brunch! The food is very good and the place is really special!
Artic Char was undercooked. Sent it back twice. Lentils were cold as well.
Delicious brunch and a lively Sunday afternoon.
Thanks good the attentive service too !
Excellent food. We had the eggs and lemon pancakes. They were delicious. Service was great. Very attentive waitstaff. Will definitely recommend to anyone wanting a laid back brunch.
Pre-theater brunch. Good service and tasty food. Would have liked more options.
I was disappointed . Granted it’s been a while since I last ate here but it’s the not restaurant I remember. Very expensive for mediocre food. Husbands steak frites was mostly frites and a fatty grisly steak; my duck duck bolognese was lukewarm and flavorless, seemingly sauce with some unseasoned ground beef. The penne did not taste homemade. The blue cheese with the beet salad was rubbery and tasteless cubes with a sad assortment of endive and beets that seemed to lack any dressing. Our out of town guest was excited for the Arctic char but left more than half on the plate. The roasted Brussels sprouts were good and bread was amazing but that’s it. it’s very expensive for food that misses the mark but I guess people are coming for the atmosphere
I definitely want to try this place again..lively ambiance. Energetic without being too loud. Off the charts service. Party of 3 and everyone thought it was decent and passable but nothing that made us say wow...and with the look and the great service this place has everything to make it wow. Possibly an off night. Not terrible mind you..just...lackluster
Terrible service. We sat at the table for 15 minutes before anyone came over to provide water or greet us. They messed up our drinks and switched servers mid-shift. All of the bathrooms were out of toilet paper. Overall an awful experience. Do not recommend. Way better places in the area.
Love Lafayette! This was my third time dining and second for brunch. We ordered the same dishes as last time because we loved them so much but were disappointed that they changed the egg white frittata recipe (we’re guessing it changes seasonally). The lemon pancakes were still to die for!
The food is exceptionally well executed. It’s a fun, convivial environment - tho a tad noisy it feels more like boisterous, energetic than “noisy”! It’s also cozy, quite an achievement!
Extremely loud, so conversation is not an option. Also, freezing seated anywhere near the door in wintertime.
Food was decent and service was attentive.
Staff was so helpful in finding us a perfect table for an important conversation — and definitely have the roast chicken, which was amazing!
Very crowded. I have a knee injury and the restaurant does not have an elevator. I had to climb their huge staircase to get to our table.
The food was not all that great. Appetizers were excellent, but main courses were very average. We didn’t even eat the mashed potatoes because they had way too much fresh cracked pepper.
The atmosphere was fun, it would be a fun place for drinks, but we will not be dining there again.
Always get excellent service and food here. Never disappointed! Great staff and food!!!
Food was good once it arrived. Our dinner took the better part of 4 hours. Service was stunningly slow. They were friendly when they stopped by to see if anyone else was tending to us. Fire alarm went off 5 or 6 times which was tedious. The waiters came by then to tell us differing stories of what was amiss. Friendly but inept and slow to the point of our saying we wouldn’t be back.
This visit is unremarkable and I almost felt like my server wasn't interested in making any suggestions about menu additions, refills on wine, or anything really. Sad because this is a place I frequent when I have meetings near NYU.
Nice, casual vibe for French bistro fare. Food is good. The onion soup was not very good. The frisée salad was better. A bit pricey.
Lafayette has the absolutely best roast chicken in town. Yes, I've been to Coq Rico and Le Cou Cou, and Lafayette's is better.
Very crowded and noisy. Popular spot in NOHO . overpriced
This is a wonderful restaurant, we always enjoy it. I recently enjoyed their rotisserie chicken salad but the all time favorite is still the lemon pancakes offered weekends during Brunch. Everything here though is delicious. Five star in every way.
Arrogant and condescending waiter, overpriced food.
Very good food, excellent service, great looking place
Love our family mornings at Lafayette. Best food for everyone and special attentive and personalized service. The best!
Great food and very good service. Never in your face never pushy just kind and attentive. But the food is the best part everything we had for dinner was just great.
Very, very noisy.
Everything was perfect.......service and staff and food
I had the worse service ever !
We have been eating here for years.
The waitress was terrible.
Lafayette has continued to be a favorite restaurant ever since it opened. The quality of its menu is so consistently enjoyable, from starters to its amazing desserts, we almost take it for granted.
The atmosphere is utterly unique. There's a roominess and comfort to the place, whether inside or outside, that achieves a perfect balance between formal and casual dining.
The staff is one of the most welcoming, warm, and insightful. They are excellent, trusted guides and are always a pleasure to interact with.
And Ro Senise always makes us feel especially lucky that we've become regulars at Lafayette -- she's a big reason in her own right why we love this place so much!
Top notch in every way. Exceeded my best expectations.
This was a return visit for us since we loved the food so much the first time. This trip did not disappoint and Lafayette has now become one of our "go to" restaurants in NYC. Lovely food, great service and wonderful atmosphere!
We always have a good time when brunching at Lafayette - better early in the morning than mid-day when it is quite crowded and loud.
Amazing Agnolotti!
Very nice space, very friendly and professional service. Food was below average, we both ate less than half and had to give up. Mushy bread, fatty ham, tasteless all round. Wouldn’t go back.
