The private room within the Lafayette Restaurant can accommodate up to 24 guests. Windows open to a panoramic view of Lafayette Park and The White House.
View Private Dining DetailsWe were pleasantly surprised to discover Lafayette during our recent visit to DC. We loved the attentive service, elegant atmosphere with a view overlooking the White House, fabulous meal selections (such as Dover sole finished at table side), and the live piano music. It's perfect for quiet conversation, a business meal, or a romantic evening.
I was appalled at the price for parking $32 wether you dine or not spend any money at the hotel
Best breakfast place in dc
Great place! A must in DC
Ordered the scallops and NY Strip. Scallops excellent NY Strip was dry would not order it again. Everything else was excellent
Great service and food! Our server Juan was professional, prompt, and very accommodating. You get what you paid for here... in both food and services!
This was by far the most amazing experience we've had in any restaurants. Rosa and Juan were simply phenomenal! Thank you both for making our special occasion that much more memorable!
Eli provided amazing service and the food was amazing!
The service was amazing. Our food was beautiful and plant based as we requested. I only wish the menu had vegan and plant based options without needing to make a special request.
I am so happy that I was able to have breakfast in such a beautiful setting. I found the restaurant very elegant and the staff very polished and professional. My scrambled eggs were plated beautifully along with potatoes and the tastiest bacon that I have had in a long time. A sprig of rosemary completed the dish. It was served with biscuits that I totally enjoyed. My sister had the french toast that she raved about. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a lovely breakfast!
Absolutely fantastic.
Special occasion dinner unless you roll comfortably. Wonderful food. Best asparagus in memory. So tender and fresh. The special (Rockfish) was tremendous. Service impeccable. We were underdressed and not a flinch as they took our well traveled jackets. The White House is literally just out the window. Beautiful setting and elegant dining. Every bite great.
Excellent food and service in an envious location. The restaurant continues the feel of the hotel it is located in; understated elegance; fine cuisine and serious service. The menu is limited but diverse with great options for most palates. The wine list also also some very intersting choices from around the world. After a truly excellent meal for two, I was astonished at the reasonableness of the bill. What an exceptional restaurant in all respects! Only made more enjoyable by having to take the elevator to our room afterwards. The Hay Adams are to be congratulated on having a superb restaurant as their "hotel restaurant".
Anniversaires
Excellent location, decor, service, food and value.
I’ll be back
It was very delightful!
For the cost lunch was on the high end. However Anniversary cupcake was perfect.
The food was incredible! Everything we ordered was delicious. Pricier than I wanted but service was top notch and food amazing. A special occasion spot.
Fantastic!
Thank you so much to everyone at The Hay Adams. My husband and I went for our anniversary brunch and the entire staff totally spoiled us. Emmanuel is amazing! The food was so beautiful and delicious. There is an embarrassment of riches on the buffets. The champagne was perfectly chilled and poured. We look forward to coming back soon.
Charming fine dining restaurant in the Hay Adams Hotel. Patience required, but live piano adds to enjoyment. Good wine list with some value selections. Food was very good, but beef Wellington was medium well rather than medium rare, which we ordered. Overall, we would go again because of the ambiance. Attention to detail would make this near perfect.
We were absolutely delighted with this restaurant.
The service, food and ambience are impeccable!
Outstanding! Great waiter!
They are the best of the best!
Delicious breakfast and so different that the average hotel breakfast fare! Servers were very attentive, professional, and friendly!
Delicious and in an elegant environment. The dining room is very beautiful and has a live piano play. Dress. We were in very casual attire and this lovely place needs to maintain its high end atmosphere. The food is exceptional as is the service.
Charming atmosphere but the food, service and pace of the meal were disappointing.
Although the service Personnel were attentive they weren't polished. The pace was too fast for a fine dining experience. We were totally underwhelmed with the food. The Lobster in the salad was tough the lamb portions were super small and served warm not hot. Many items were under seasoned.
The wine was very nice.
The cost was expensive in relationship to the perceived quality. Overall a disappointing night out for my wife's birthday.
We had a wonderful time! We were there for my moms birthday and they didn’t disappoint!
Beautiful environment, excellent service, delicious food A++
It was very nice restaurant Me and My Wife really enjoyed the food, service, dining area.
It was wonderful.
Very good experience. The room is lovely. Piano player adds a nice touch. Food is traditional and prepared well. Wine list was remarkably reasonable. Great for a date night.
Great service, delicious meals and romantic and classy ambiance. We really enjoyed it
A wonderful treat for the palate and the eyes. The buffet was a work of art with a tremendous variety of foods uniquely displayed and plated. It is a gracious dining experience with a live piano in the background. Wouldn't change a thing. Be sure to bring your appetite as you will want to sample everything.
This restaurant is a hidden gem in DC fine dining. Even more hidden is its bar named such "Off the record" with deep red cozy decor, great cocktails a bit on the expensive side though. There is validated valet parking right in front of the lobby entrance. The decor is luxurious and the view of white house from Lafayette park across the street is a bonus. The food is extremely tasty.
Excellent location, great view of Lafayette Park & the White House, plus its inside the "Best Hotel" in D.C...... Food and drinks were amazing and prepaired to the highest standards. Highly recommended, PS: make sure you try the bar downstairs for and after dinner cocktail, it the best hidden Gem D.C.
I proposed to my now fiancee this week at the restaurant. The wait staff was amazing, the service was impeccable and the entire evening just perfect
We reserved a table at Lafayette for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was a quiet morning--only a few other patrons were there besides ourselves. Beautiful table settings and excellent service. Everyone was so kind and inviting, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We definitely hope to go back and would highly recommend to anyone!
Wonderful place for dinner. View of the White house. Service is 5 star, formal dinning room is world class and old world charm. You can almost hear former Senator's speaking from decades ago. Great dinner, highly suggest it while you are visiting Washington.
Wonderful place for our wedding anniversary. Quiet, outstanding service & great food.
