Lafayette Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant is a hidden gem in DC fine dining. Even more hidden is its bar named such "Off the record" with deep red cozy decor, great cocktails a bit on the expensive side though. There is validated valet parking right in front of the lobby entrance. The decor is luxurious and the view of white house from Lafayette park across the street is a bonus. The food is extremely tasty.
Excellent location, great view of Lafayette Park & the White House, plus its inside the "Best Hotel" in D.C...... Food and drinks were amazing and prepaired to the highest standards. Highly recommended, PS: make sure you try the bar downstairs for and after dinner cocktail, it the best hidden Gem D.C.
We reserved a table at Lafayette for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was a quiet morning--only a few other patrons were there besides ourselves. Beautiful table settings and excellent service. Everyone was so kind and inviting, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We definitely hope to go back and would highly recommend to anyone!
Wonderful place for dinner. View of the White house. Service is 5 star, formal dinning room is world class and old world charm. You can almost hear former Senator's speaking from decades ago. Great dinner, highly suggest it while you are visiting Washington.
I celebrated my wife's birthday here. She absolutely loved this place! The food was excellent. .. and the service was first class!
Our waiter's name was Anthony and he was amazing and very friendly. There was anot her young lady that escorted us to the roof to get some breathtaking views of the White House....
First Class place!!!!!!
We had a lovely holiday dinner here with family. We had an early dinner as we had an infant in arms with us. They could not have been kinder or more accommodating towards us and making our dinner relaxing and pleasurable even with a young baby along. One of our favorite restaurants in Washington.
This was a family Christmas brunch. The appetizer selection was excellent. Good assortment of main courses to order off the menu. Service was smoothe and very accommodating.
Got my picture taken with Santa and met their delightful concierge Ladre Falcon. We all loved the brunch.
The dining room has a clubby, timeless elegance that is calming in and of itself. Service is quiety attentive.
Our starters were excellent; we were both appropriately enticed by the octapus. I ordered as a main course the haibut which could have been more assertively flavored; my dining companion enjoyed the Dover sole, an indulgence that the Lafayette's traditional version measured up to The sole was artfully filleted tableside, accompanied by the superb playing on the piano of Tom Vogt. In fact Tom is the primary reason we dine a few times a year here. Many diners stopped by to tell Tom how much they enjoyed his music. We did, too.
I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. My husband and I went to The Lafayette for breakfast so that my husband could show me a great place he had been on business. The menu had a lot of choices and a good variety of choices. We didn't think that the food was that great, especially for the price, but we loved the experience, the view, the decorations, the hotel's Christmas decorations, and the beauty. We highly recommend checking out this restaurant for a great experience.
We had a nice evening. Food was priced appropriately and the ambiance was lovely. Best part: our waiter, Anthony, and the rest of the staff. He was very knowledgeable of the menu, wonderful at paring wines, and went out of his way at every opportunity. Thank you!
The Lafayette restaurant had outstanding food and service. We had the lobster appetizer and the lobster/butternut squash soup to start. The steak and scallops we had for our main meals were cooked to perfection and very delicious. The Dark Chocolate Souffle was simply decadent. There was a nice selection of wines by the glass, including a Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon, which you usually see sold by the bottle only. Our waiter and servers were very attentive and friendly. The prices were on the high end as you would expect. This restaurant would definitely be a great place to go for a memorable birthday or anniversary dinner.
The staff is second to none. We were visiting DC for thanksgiving week and had breakfast there every morning. The dining room is beautiful, the food was delicious and the people that work there are special. These are true professionals; they are very good at what they do. They genuinely enjoyed working there and working with each other. They made us feel welcome. It was a wonderful way to start our day each morning.
