Lady Mendl's is an unconventionally chic tea salon housed within a Georgian brownstone in the Gramercy Park neighborhood of Manhattan. An opulent five-course tea is served in an eclectic and whimsical parlor by a doting staff. Patrons sip tea from hand culled vintage Wedgwood teacups as they nibble dainty finger sandwiches and house baked scones.
Starting March 1st $78 prix fixe tea served Thursday through Sunday.

    We went to Lady Mendls to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday. It was so lovely! All of the tables are set with beautiful and unique china and tea cups. The food is delicious and so plentiful. You can get as much and whatever flavor tea throughout. The food included soup, a tier of sandwiches, scones, cake and petit fours. The staff was lovely, very attentive and made our stay so enjoyable. I would definitely recommend Lady Mendls!

    This is a hidden gem of a place—magical from the moment we set foot on the townhouse steps until we floated out again! The unlimited selection of tea was lovely, but the food is really the star—delicious seasonal ginger sandwiches, then delectable dainty scones, topped off with a prudent slice of crepe cake. We were pleasantly stuffed and very happy! Will definitely return!

    The experience of dining in a tea restaurant of this caliber is why we return once every two years! The price paid includes 5 different flavored teas, that days special pumpkin soup, sandwiches, scones, and dessert. ...It is a great combination of delicious, dependable food and outstanding, friendly service to every customer! You are allowed to enjoy the table time for one and half to two hours depending on the amount of people at your table, which leaves enough time for photos in the lobby area!

    What an absolute joy. To be able to admire the beautiful building comfortably from the inside was a dream. Tea itself was delightful. The service was impeccable. So easy to imagine the Gilded Age. THANKYOU!

    My daughter and I really enjoyed tea here. The menu is prix fixe so you don't choose except for your drinks or tea. The food was very fresh and beautifully presented. The setting is absolutely beautiful. The staff very accommodating especially the woman who checked our coats. She was just so sweet and allowed us to see one of the rooms upstairs. I would definitely go back here.

    Afternoon tea was a great success at Lady Mendl's. Outstanding service throughout the whole meal. The atmosphere and settings of assorted fine china patterns and seating are delightful. Background music was soothing and so enjoyable. Choices of tea and food great. Loved the apple squash soup and the finger sandwiches had a variety of tastes and textures. Scones were fresh and hot with wonderful curd/jam to accompany them. AH but that crepe cake dessert. Just what was needed at the end of the meal... something light but beautiful whip cream style filling. And the tea flowed throughout the whole meal.... staff very attentive to that. A wonderful experience for our new york visit.

    Carbo loaded low cost junk. Not worth it. Had to beg to have tea cup refilled. Give patrons their own tea pots for goodness sake. You leave with a sugar high so get ready to crash.

    This was such a lovely experience, and we would love to return. The food, service and ambience was outstanding for our 1pm high tea experience. The 21 crepe cake is to die for!

    Had a lovely afternoon tea at Lady Mendl's to celebrate my daughter's birthday. From the hostess to the servers everyone was very friendly. We started with a peach bellini. The five course tea that is served course by course and was delicious- from the apple,pumpkin soup, 6 different tea sandwiches on a tiered tray , 2 different scones with devonshire cream, lemon curd, and raspberry jam, Lady M crepe cake to the chocolate covered strawberries and lemon blondies and petit fours! We had a different tea with each course and each one was delicious! We were not rushed and we stayed for about 2 hours! I can't recommend it enough. They even put a candle on the cake for my daughter's birthday! It's expensive but worth it for a special occasion.

    The atmosphere has you completely transported, walking up the steps of the brownstone and stepping inside makes you feel as if you've found a secret garden that you will keep near to your heart. I will keep this experience near to my heart because every wall, chair, tea pot and scone feels intricately designed and made with care. Thank you for the experience!

    It’s a most charming location, rooms have lovely ambiance, service is impeccable!!! The various severs couldn’t do enough. They are there without being intrusive and anticipated when you were ready for more tea or the next course. And, the food was absolutely delicious.

    We went for my birthday it was an amazing experience and highly recommend it. My sister who might qualify for the position of pickiest eater alive loved all the courses! Of course we loved the ambiance and overall experience of Lady Mendl's afternoon tea and would recommend spending an enjoyable afternoon with fellow tea lovers in this establishment.

    Went for my mother’s birthday and Everything was perfect! Once we arrived we were greeted by a hostess who was so kind and welcoming and gave my mom a birthday blessing that added so much to the experience. The decor is perfectly eclectic and the music was a good addition to the atmosphere. All of the wait staff were attentive and friendly and the food and drinks were very delicious. Over all the experience was amazing 🤩

    It was my granddaughter’s birthday celebration. A friend of mine has highly recommend and I was so glad she did. Everything was so beautiful and it was one of the most elegant high tea that became a memorable birthday celebration!

    Lady Mendl's is not what it used to be. The food is as good as it always was, as are the teas. However, they no longer put a pot of tea on the table. There is a pot of each tea that a server refills your cup from. The problem is, the servers are largely absent and too busy when they're present. We constantly had to ask for refills of our tea cup, as did all the other patrons. They brought our check when they brought out the last course, and very politely told us they needed the table when we didn't pay immediately. If there's a time limit on the table, the decent thing to do is to tell patrons up front what that time limit is. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, but I'm not running back there any time soon.

    Lady MendlsResponded on August 13, 2022Hello, We began to offer tea pairings with each of our courses in order to encourage a more versatile tea experience, and removed teapots from our tables years ago. Open Table does state, reservations are limited to 90 minutes unless otherwise previously arranged. Our Salon is very intimate and we try hard to maintain an environment condusive to enjoying a leisurely afternoon tea experience. If you visit us during the week we are able to afford you a longer stay. Thank you for your feedback.

    Nice ambiance. The menu is light with a lot of up charges for the price. For four people there was not a lot To eat and we left feeling hungry and went to get a more fulfilling meal afterward, which is tough at $78 per perso. Extra charges for more scones, sandwiches. Summary: beautiful space, nice ambiance but for the price they need a more substantial menu or they need to lower the price.

    Made my first date with someone I was very excited about special! Though, maybe not always special for the right reasons, it was memorable and felt like a fairy tale haha
