I loved the food and service. My order was an avocado toast with salmon and lobster linguine. I would advice to use different bread for avocado toast, because this one is too soft and taste like cake, not bread. The rest was very delicious. Staff was very friendly, attentive and polite. What i liked there, that service doesnt attach to one person, all staff is involved. Laduree def the place where i will go back again.
I’ve been choosing Ladurée for years for catching up with friends and admiring the beautiful decor. However, be prepared for clientele that comes here are mostly boasting, making a show out of being there instead of actually enjoying good food, drink, and service. Which may be why service and food quality has gone down. The food was bland, finger sandwiches were soggy and old. I do appreciate the hostess being flexible with my reservation time and guiding me to my table. It is a very pretty place, an excuse to dress up, but that’s really all it has become.
Love Laduree Soho and I've always had a good experience here, however the Sunday brunch service was sub par if anything. We waited far too long for a table when we had a reservation and it took 20 minutes just to get our drinks.
My friend visited NY from Japan. She wanted to have nice afternoon tea in NY and I found out Laduree has a cute one. I booked it in a few days advance and it was Sep 14th at 3pm. Afternoon starts at 2pm til 5pm. When we got there they said we can not order afternoon tea set because they sold out. It was only 3pm so I hoped that they had enough stock.
We had afternoon tea outside. The outside courtyard was nice, but extremely crowded and very loud. The desserts and macarons were fantastic, but the tea sandwiches were just awful. The tea was good. Overall, I’d recommend, but there are much better places to get afternoon tea.
Wonderful per usual! Staff is always super friendly and accommodating, which you don’t always find
The service was not good. We were asked repeatedly to order when we weren’t ready and given a check without being asked. There was no one waiting We ordered dessert after that. After we got the check the server came back to pick it up and when I asked him if he was going off he said yes. Later I saw him. All in all not a great experience. Beautiful garden setting though
Exc lent French food (Croque Monsieur) in a delightful ambience. Highly recommend.
Our waitress was very unpleasant, barely checked on us and took a while to get her attention. The food was terrible- I ordered a Niçoise salad and the fish was dark purple!! Nothing was fresh. The cocktails and dessert were better, obviously- I’d only order that at Laudree.
Overall, I wouldn’t come back unless I’m getting something to go. The restaurant looks like it used to be decadent but now everything is run down. I wouldn’t recommend.
I've wanted to go here for 5 years. This place lived up to my high expectations.
The Soho location is in need of a refresh. Atmosphere was a bit tattered including the bathrooms. Macaroons were good but two omelets were marginal. I would not return to this location.
My daughters birthday and it was a great experience. The restaurant is beautiful and the food and service are great.
Love it, always.
I’ve come here a few times before but I like to bring my out of state friends so they can get wowed by the outdoor garden. The food and drinks are always amazing. The day I went they had a prefixed meal with a LOT of food for only $40, enough food for two people. The food came out disturbingly fast and I had to ask about our drinks to a few people since we had almost finished eating. But I will definitely keep coming back, I always have a great experience.
Great for a coffee and sweets.
Had a great time with my daughter. Just popped in when passing through and was very pleased with the place. The food and service were great too, a bit pricey but it won’t stop me from visiting again.
The welcomer couldnt find our reservation of opentable!!!!
The service is poor. Food is delicious. Ambiance is beautiful. Very hard to get a waiter’s attention even when waving. It took a while to get acknowledged, greeted, and seated. The bus boys were nice who were wearing black. But the waiters in white were not very attentive. Overall a beautiful place with delicious food and sweets. Another disadvantage is the prices. For example, at the door the plaisir sucre says $7.50 in the window but on the menu it says $10.50. They rip you off.
Beautiful outdoor/indoor resturant. They were pretty busy when i went but we had reservations so we were seated very quickly. 10/10 stars enjoyed dining here!
Great Sunday brunch place. Very nice outdoor patio. Service was quick, food was great. We had a wonderful experience at Laduree SOHO.
Service was terrible. We waited 15 minutes before someone even approached us to offer water. Service was so slow and one waitress was extremely rude. Our last server was super nice and made up for the lackluster service from his colleague. The entrees were mediocre but the dessert was good. Restaurant wasn’t worth it. Get some sweet snacks and hang out in the pretty parlor instead of getting table service in the back.
It is a very relaxing place to enjoy European ambience, with a very attentive staff and non rush eating. It is not the typical American restaurant with a feeling of being rushed. Also, our food was delicious and lived up to my expectations. We visit Paris every May and La Duree on Champs Elysees is one of our favorites, for dining, and for Mille Feuilles.
Just got engaged. They presented two strawberry Campaigns on the House to celebrate the occasion. Wonderful time.
Wait staff was not friendly and honestly were terrible! Really was expecting more!
Very good atmosphere! Nice outdoor tables! Food without taste! Excellent personel!!!
The croque monsieur rolls were so delicious, I mean really. Macarons, naturally, are THE BEST. I also like any restaurant where the garçons call me “Madame.” But, really everything was lovely, the service delightful and the food très magnifique.
It’s good enough for a coffee and small plates as a cafe but definitely not worth visiting if you want an afternoon tea experience. That is pretty disappointing also the ambience is very casual and noisy not really what you want when you for an experience.
Great location in the middle of everything, however service wasn't great. Took forever to get order and had to wave people down constantly
I wanted to surprise my niece for her 10th birthday as she’d been to La Duree in Paris. I made mention of this being her birthday (the actual day) in the reservation and when I checked in at the hostess. Here’s a girl all dressed up and excited and they did nothing special. The waiter didn’t even say happy birthday. And it wasn’t busy at all. The food was fine and the macarons good (albeit over-priced) but the meal was a “fail” in my eyes.
When we arrived we were asked if we wanted air conditioning or no air conditioning at our inside seating. Huh?! It went downhill from there. Ran out of finger sandwiches and madeleines in the middle of tea. Offered to replace madeleines with a croissant. How is that equivalent? Huh?!
It is a cute spot with good food. I did not experience tea time. The place is exquisite, great pics, and the drink Royale Laduree is AMAZING and the rose ice cream!!!!
Beautiful setting, very good food and average service.
Always a treat to have lunch at Laduree Soho. The outdoor garden/patio is a relaxing spot. Food is consistently good and dishes are creative. Of course, the macarons are scrumptious.
Always lovely being here. My favorite thing about this place, besides the food, is the location. You will never know you're in the middle of Manhattan. In that way, it is much like its Paris counterparts. Try any of the macaroons, and I mean any! The breakfast menu, and the avocado toast were all standouts. End the meal with a glass of Vueve Clicquot and you're in Paris again.
Beautiful restaurant!!!! Great service!!!
I love their lychee rose macaron cake and saw they had a cute cafe with outdoor seating. However, it was clear that absolutely no effort was placed on the service or food. The menus were so dirty with stains it was disgusting and I literally saw spider webs by the wine ice buckets. The tea time sandwiches were inedible. I suggest just buying their pastries and dining elsewhere.
I have been to the SOHO location twice now this year when visiting New York (I am from Toronto) & I love it. No trip is ever complete without coming here. I have got my boyfriend addicted to this place as well. The food, scenery, energy & service is amazing. Everyone is super nice & welcoming. The in & outside seating areas of the building are beautiful. The outside seating area is by far my favourite & everything really gives off that French feel to it. I will definitely visit this place anytime I come back to New York.
Travel Daughter and FATHER MY DAUGHTER BIRTHDAY TOO
I’ve been looking forward to visiting laduree’s cafe, and was I severely disappointed in the service. We received appetizers without sharing plates and had to ask. No one checked up on us to ask how was everything. Another server took the drink menu off our table without asking or saying anything, which is extremely rude. Every time I asked how an entree / dish was prepared, our server just repeated what was on the menu. The staff clearly doesn’t know the menu or the rules of service when it comes to dining. Now for the dessert part, the server asked what we would like. After choosing the dessert, she then informs us what they’re out of. It would’ve been helpful for her to let us know what they didn’t have when the menu was given. My friend sat there eating her dessert while I waited for mine since the original dessert I chose was sold out. After bringing out my dessert, she then forgot to give us two dessert silverware. My friend had to grab a spoon from the empty table next to us. So much for dining at a well known place in New York. Quite the disappointment.
