Laduree never disappoints, the food is always delightful and the ambiance refined and regal. The service was a little lacking, as I ordered the vegan vol au vent and received the vegan avocado toast instead... Not sure how the mix up happened, but I had to wait a bit to receive the correct order - just a little inconvenient . I certainly didn't mind waiting and the meal was delicious, as expected. We got deserts on the way out and they were perfect.
I was very disappointed in LaDuree Soho this visit. The surroundings in the outside garden were very pretty. The service was poor with waiters bringing food to our table that we didn’t order, multiple waiters asking us the same questions. The prices were very high and the portions (omelet) for $17 came without any potatoes or bread basket. I have been to this restaurant once before and the food and service was much better. I have been to LaDuree in Paris and that was tres magnifique.
The server had an odd reaction to our requests. Coffee bar was backed up and seemed confused by orders servers put in.
I asked to add an egg to veggie avocado toast (when egg was included on other avocado toast on menu, would think it wasn’t a difficult request). Not busy, early morning visit, yet server said “I’ll have to see about that, we don’t usually accommodate customer requests, but I’ll check to see if the cook can do. Cook did, so I was happy.
When requesting 3 variety of pastries, server responded that customers can’t usually choose which they receive as the shop runs out of some pastries, but again would check. We received, so we were happy.
All went fine, but we didn’t feel the service was 5 star.
The cashier was rude but the waitstaff was lovely and I loved the decor
Less desserts than usual and service was very slow. Not as good as in the past.
Seated by back door, which was opened a thousand times, making the temperature very cold and breezy, blew napkins off table repeatedly.
It was my birthday and aside from arriving early and being told we could be seated we waited another 20 minutes after being told 5 minutes twice. Then to have two parties of two w no reservations sat before us. The host then realized we had been standing next to him the whole time.
Food was cold, drinks were awful and the service was extremely slow and communication of no sandwiches or no items weren’t offered until we noticed they hadn’t arrived to the table. The tables don’t accommodate certain items on the table.
And the noise is too much for the type of experience and style of restaurant.
I was hoping this would be a great location for my daughter’s 25th surprise birthday this December but I won’t return.
I went for late brunch on Saturday with a friend
Unfortunately this time my experience was not that great
It was full, noisy, service was slow (15 minutes for tap water) and food unremarkable
Service here was terrible, coffee came out with no cup to drink it from, soft boiled eggs were nearly raw, one of 4 dishes did not come out with the others so while we all waited our food got cold. Overall terrible overpriced experience. beautiful place, great macaroons but the point of sitting down to eat a meal together. would not go back and sit down, only purchase macaroons from the front.
As always, tea time at Laduree SOHO is impossible to beat. My grandmother was in town visiting and she loved it
I have gone to this restaurant for many years, however, the quality of the food (Lunch + Dinner)
has drop several notches. The desserts however are excellent and saves the day.
The restaurant was just what I expected. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. My friend and I both had champagne cocktails that were perfectly mixed. The macarons and desserts were incredible. Looking forward to visiting again!
enchanting garden and excellent food. A real find.
Everything was amazing, we sat outside on a very beautiful day. My only complaint was a very noisy couple that were clearly intoxicated. They had taken clothes off and one person was just wearing short shortS and a bra. They were loud, using lots of profanity. By the time we were leaving they were throwing drinks at each other. My complaint with Laduree was that they did not address this disturbing scene. Most people on the patio were aware and despite complaints, these two people were not asked to leave.
It was a quaint Parisian setting in the middle of soho. Good and service was excellent. The ambiance was was great and decor as well. The macaroons were delicious. It’s a must sitting outside if you can. Lived it will be back again.
Veg vol au vent was dominated by peas, very rich, heavy dish that was true to tradition. The veg avocado toast was similar. The garden setting was soothing.
It’s lovely to dine in the garden weather permitting. The inside is attractively done and the ambience is Quite charming.
The hostess forgot to seat us. After 45 min of sitting in front of her, waiting... we were like is our table ready? And she was like oh my god I forgot. No compensation or apologies given....
The outdoor garden is one of our favorite spots in NYC! And the food is superb and the staff is outstanding.
Wonderful weekend brunch! Service was impeccable not to mention the outdoor setting was very elegant and beautiful... for a moment I felt I was in Paris
I loved the food and service. My order was an avocado toast with salmon and lobster linguine. I would advice to use different bread for avocado toast, because this one is too soft and taste like cake, not bread. The rest was very delicious. Staff was very friendly, attentive and polite. What i liked there, that service doesnt attach to one person, all staff is involved. Laduree def the place where i will go back again.
Please avoid this place to eat in. The restaurant is pretty but not worth the money. The staff completely ignores you and forgets about you. Does not take orders correctly.
I’ve been choosing Ladurée for years for catching up with friends and admiring the beautiful decor. However, be prepared for clientele that comes here are mostly boasting, making a show out of being there instead of actually enjoying good food, drink, and service. Which may be why service and food quality has gone down. The food was bland, finger sandwiches were soggy and old. I do appreciate the hostess being flexible with my reservation time and guiding me to my table. It is a very pretty place, an excuse to dress up, but that’s really all it has become.
Love Laduree Soho and I've always had a good experience here, however the Sunday brunch service was sub par if anything. We waited far too long for a table when we had a reservation and it took 20 minutes just to get our drinks.
My friend visited NY from Japan. She wanted to have nice afternoon tea in NY and I found out Laduree has a cute one. I booked it in a few days advance and it was Sep 14th at 3pm. Afternoon starts at 2pm til 5pm. When we got there they said we can not order afternoon tea set because they sold out. It was only 3pm so I hoped that they had enough stock.
We had afternoon tea outside. The outside courtyard was nice, but extremely crowded and very loud. The desserts and macarons were fantastic, but the tea sandwiches were just awful. The tea was good. Overall, I’d recommend, but there are much better places to get afternoon tea.
Wonderful per usual! Staff is always super friendly and accommodating, which you don’t always find
The service was not good. We were asked repeatedly to order when we weren’t ready and given a check without being asked. There was no one waiting We ordered dessert after that. After we got the check the server came back to pick it up and when I asked him if he was going off he said yes. Later I saw him. All in all not a great experience. Beautiful garden setting though
Exc lent French food (Croque Monsieur) in a delightful ambience. Highly recommend.
Our waitress was very unpleasant, barely checked on us and took a while to get her attention. The food was terrible- I ordered a Niçoise salad and the fish was dark purple!! Nothing was fresh. The cocktails and dessert were better, obviously- I’d only order that at Laudree.
Overall, I wouldn’t come back unless I’m getting something to go. The restaurant looks like it used to be decadent but now everything is run down. I wouldn’t recommend.
I've wanted to go here for 5 years. This place lived up to my high expectations.
The Soho location is in need of a refresh. Atmosphere was a bit tattered including the bathrooms. Macaroons were good but two omelets were marginal. I would not return to this location.
My daughters birthday and it was a great experience. The restaurant is beautiful and the food and service are great.
Love it, always.
I’ve come here a few times before but I like to bring my out of state friends so they can get wowed by the outdoor garden. The food and drinks are always amazing. The day I went they had a prefixed meal with a LOT of food for only $40, enough food for two people. The food came out disturbingly fast and I had to ask about our drinks to a few people since we had almost finished eating. But I will definitely keep coming back, I always have a great experience.
Great for a coffee and sweets.
Had a great time with my daughter. Just popped in when passing through and was very pleased with the place. The food and service were great too, a bit pricey but it won’t stop me from visiting again.
The welcomer couldnt find our reservation of opentable!!!!
The service is poor. Food is delicious. Ambiance is beautiful. Very hard to get a waiter’s attention even when waving. It took a while to get acknowledged, greeted, and seated. The bus boys were nice who were wearing black. But the waiters in white were not very attentive. Overall a beautiful place with delicious food and sweets. Another disadvantage is the prices. For example, at the door the plaisir sucre says $7.50 in the window but on the menu it says $10.50. They rip you off.
