Sunday buffet is worth the experience!
Excellent, healthy food. Great service. Quiet, nice space.
we've been a ton of times for brunch for special occasions. I don't know what else to say but our server came off as a snob who made some type of judgement call about us. we walked in he automatically passed us up to another server to "tour" us around, didn't give us water or offer us drinks and didn't come check in on us for the entire meal. I'm sure he was busy with others and we are pretty low maintenance. At over $300 for brunch for two adults and a young child, a little kindness goes a long way.
Impeccable service, excellent cuisine, elegant setting.
The food, service and drinks were stellar.
Amazing food, amazing experience. I am already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you!
Exciting flavors every time, paired exceptionally well with great wines. Love the food and appreciate wonderful service. Worth a drive from outside the city. At the top of a very short list for us in. Philly.
The brunch food and service were phenomenal!!
Went for my wife's birthday- we both agree it was one of the best meals we've ever had. Incredible food (we had the tasting menu), beautiful space, and a knowledgeable, attentive, and kind (and not overbearing) staff made for a wonderful night.
Location is great. Decor was refined. Went for lunch and overall food was not good especially for the money. Bloody mary was really bad, took 2 sips. Burger was ok, french onion soup bland and disappointing. Wouldnt come back tbh
Excellent meal at Lacroix. We were pampered from start to finish with wonderful, unusual food, and attentive and gracious service. A place for a very special treat. Superb
great service . wine list extensive but overpriced
Elegant dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Tables overlooking Rittenhouse Square. The food changes monthly with the seasons and there is always a theme. We particularly like this month's herb menu. The portions are very small but by the end of the meal, you are stuffed. My wife and I ordered a wine pairing for one and shared it. It was more than enough for the two of us. Not an everyday restaurant, this is the best special occasion restaurant in Philly.
Excellent food. Very expensive and small portions. Wine list also very expensive. Outstanding pastries and dessert - perhaps the best in the city. Wonderful setting and service. A good place for a special occasion, although perhaps not the best value.
Simply fabulous in all respects
Outstanding food and service. The most underrated restaurant in Philadelphia. Probably the best restaurant in the city.
Place was fabulous - best meal I had during my whole visit to Philly. Yes, it’s a little pricey, but you get what you pay for, so it was amazing...
Knowing what we were in for, I had high expectations and was disappointingly let down. Appetizer and first course were extraordinary, but the Angus burger, ordered medium came out like a hockey puck. Waiter did offer a replacement, and then took it off the bill, but this kind of basic fundamental was very disappointing for the price.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Phil and We love the lacroix brunch. Came for an early Mother’s Day brunch and as usual it was fantastic. The hors douvres were excellent, especially the foie gras. Oysters are one of my wife’s favorites. The beef broth with quail was awesome too and so was the beef brisket. Service was attentive as usual. Will definitely be back.
What a wonderful restaurant! Beautiful views of Rittenhouse square, quiet dining, elegant food and service. Perfect for date night. The tasting menu portions are not large, but there's lagniappe and at the end of the evening, you're perfectly satisfied. Very substantial, but rather pricey, wine list.
What a meal! We had the wine-paired multi-course meal which was beautifully prepared, presented and described, and tasted out of this world! It was a special occassion so we also had the caviar snack plate to start. Although the bill was 800 wuth 25% tip (which was well deserved because of the staff), it was one of the best meals my wife and i have ever experienced! I can't wait until the next meal at Lacroix!
Always a wonderful experience dinning at Lacroix. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and well taken care of. Highly recommend !
We came to Lacroix because my boyfriend loves French food, which is definitely not my cuisine of choice. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I fully enjoyed every single course. Service is impeccable and food is exciting without being pretentious or overly new age. Everything, even down to the bread and butter, is delicious. We did the tasting menu, which seems to be the best way to experience the restaurant. We also sprung for a caviar appetizer - which was amazing. Drinks are also fantastic. At first I was hesitant to pay $16 for a cocktail outside of Franklin Mortgage, but the gamble definitely paid off. If you are looking for a high end, special occasion restaurant - this is the place to go. The experience is definitely expensive; however, for special occasions I would say it is worth the price tag.
We always go here for special occasions, b-days , etc. It can't be better for those events. If you are a return customer, even only 1 or 2 times a year, they treat you as a frequent, favored patron. Although the menu is fixed by the chef, requests for changes can be made without a problem. The food is excellent and served with short intermissions between courses that make you look forward to each one until the end. The cost is quite high but well worth it. The only negative for the evening was with the music at the downstairs lounge. It used to be an enjoyable conclusion to the evening, but the quality has decreased for the last two years. (It was two guitar players that mentally and aesthetically transported you to a local yokel bar in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure that they are employed by the hotel and have nothing to do with the restaurant.
We had Sunday brunch here, and it was fantastic. We were lucky to get a table in the back corner; I would not want to be in the middle as people are constantly walking back and forth to access the buffet. There were several stations, including a large one in the middle of the kitchen. Our waiter gave us a tour and got us drinks. Everything was delicious, and there was a few new and interesting things I had never tried before! They also had the old standbys of eggs and sausages as well. If it’s nice out, Rittenhouse Park is right out the front door for a nice post-feast walk.
The food was well-prepared and interesting, but for the price we paid, we would expect better wines for the pairing and improved timing of the course/wine service. We could have gotten a Michelin-starred meal in NYC for the price we paid at Lacroix!
Fine food and service in a beautiful setting
There was only one other table of diners at lunchtime when we went, yet It took 15 minutes for them to bring a wine list, then another 20 minutes to get the bottle of wine we ordered, which when poured had unidentifiable particles in it. It took three employees to deal with the problem and they insisted the wine was fine and refused to get another bottle for us. They said they’d reduce the price a little to compensate for the first glasses that had been poured that we didn’t drink. When we said we wanted a full bottle of wine to enjoy with our lunch they said we could order the house wine by the glass—what the hell? One hour later, we finally had a glass of wine in front of us that they’d strained through a filter. How dignified...so much for an enjoyable lunch. No wonder the place was empty!
It was a wonderful experience. Lasted 3 hrs so it was a great date! Chef was amazing! Will return for the lounge menu!
Wonderful place. Quiet. Great food and great service
Very nice experience we sat next to the window and enjoyed the view of Rittenhouse Square. Our meal was excellent we shared a starter and entree, it was presented on separate plates and very elegantly. Great day to celebrate spring
It depends on one's expectations in order to make a judgment as to an experience. Lacroix has had a long standing reputation as an exceptional "eatery", based on the talent and capability of its chef. My wife and I therefore had high expectations as we wanted to just celebrate life together. She with the low tolerance for alcohol, and me as the registered glutton!
We really appreciated the quiet and almost intimate ambiance. My dear wife, to meet her taste, had a sweeter wine selection that was offered by the sommelier and the selection was spot on.
We shared the same tasting menu, and I went for the corresponding wine flight.
All was beautifully presented, carefully and creatively prepared, and served with pride, and not arrogance.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience and we would heartily recommend this place to anyone who would want to enjoy a very special food based adventure.
Great service & experience. Will definitely return for brunch.
The Prix Fixe wine paired dinner was outstanding in every way. The explanations about each of the wines were both edifying and amusing. The small portions were perfect in size as there were so many of them. Service was elegant and unrushed. All in all a most memorable dining experience when celebrating a special occasion.
Just a little more on elevated attention to detail with customer service. Deserts were divine!
The brunch buffet had many interesting dishes (the cauliflower/duck confit was yummy) and its usual exception dishes (particularly the wild mushrooms in herb nage). However we were seated next to a large family with 2 young girls, who screamed, sang loudly, ran around their table, and laid down on the floor between our tables and thrashed around. Not the way we wanted to spend our anniversary brunch.
Always amazing - great for dates or small group catch ups. Food is always cooked to perfection
Great experience. Will go back for the tasting menu.
