We had an excellent meal at Lacroix. The tasting menu with paired wines was inventive and delicious. Service was outstanding. Overall, it was a lovely evening.
Consistently one of the best restaurants in Philly. Super service, great location, marvelous wines and they will work with you if you have any food allergies. Wish I could afford them on a weekly basis instead of special occasions.
My visit to LaCroix for dinner was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday. It was rainy outside but once my date and I got inside, everything was perfect. The staff, the food and the ambiace were just superb. I've had lunch at LaCroiux three times but this was my first time there for dinner. This will not be my last time going there for dinner.
Very small portions.
It took some time for our food to come out but the waiter was very nice.
This was my second time going to Lacroix. The first time was great, it was for my birthday. The wait person I had this time was just okay, but not like the first time. I had my daugther and a dear friend of mine there for Wittney's (daugther)birthday.
This rating would have been an "outstanding" across the board if we hadn't had an unusually long wait between our luncheon entree and dessert. The waiter did apologize that we had (apparently) been forgotten. However, it wasn't such a hardship, since we had private and spacious seating, a beautiful view of trees in Rittenhouse Square, and time to linger.
Dinner was exceptional. The menu was inventive and everything we tasted was perfeclty excecuted. The wine list is quite impressive, although the mark-up on some of the more widely available wines was pretty ridiculous. The service was very friendly and responsive, but not as formal as I expected - if you want the traditional French restaurant experience where waiters appear with each diner's plate and remove the silver plate covers in unison...go to Le Bec Fin.
While there are lots of good restaurants in Philadelphia, few compare to Lacroix. The food is sublime.
Absolutely the best restaurant in Philadelphia. Service was AMAZING, even during restaurant week. Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere. We will be back.
service was slooowwww, but very friendly. food tasty, salad not outstanding.
It was our 20th wedding anniversary and the hostesses, waiters and all the staff made it such a special night! They brought us a tray that said "happy anniversary" written in chocolate! We were so touched. The food selection was amazing and wine was delicious! We were completely taken aback when they gave us $50 gift cards to come back - a total of $100! Very impressive. Thank you!
Outstanding service. Food was very good but French cuisine is not my favorite. The food was good- the fish and the pork my date and I got was slightly overcooked. Good thing we went during restuarant week or our bill of 120.00 would of been doubled. For the money- not sure how soon I will be back. Great for a special occasion.
The service was exceptional, with a very knowledgeable, friendly staff from the moment we walked through the door, and the food was delicious. Two of my friends that had the corn soup felt that that was the best part of their entire meal. I had the pork tenderloin and sausage and thought that it was cooked perfectly and of a good portion. One thing that I liked was the unexpected (for us at least) parts of the meal like the amuse-bouch and petit fours.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere.
We continue to love LaCroix for its attention to detail and superb dining experience.
Our servers were wonderful and really made the special night special. Food was presented well and was wonderful. Just a great restaurant.
The service was impeccable, all of us even got a gift card at the end of our dinner. The place isnt as busy as it should be considering it is on the Square, but it was the only restaurant with availablility on a Resturant Week Friday night.
Overall it wasa pleasant dinner and the food quality is great. I am not too fond of French food though, so I wont rush to use that gift card.
It is definitely worth a try for the atmosphere and service alone.
I can't say enough good things about Lacroix. The atmosphere, service, and food are all outstanding. Sometimes it is difficult to tell from the menu just how intricate or flavorful a dish will be - ask the staff to explain the dish in detail. Portions are perfect, there is incredible attention to detail, staff are friendly and attentive while still being professional and non-intrusive. Restaurant is quite pricey, and worth every penny. For Restaurant Week, it has to be the best "deal" offered. Lacroix gets my top rating.
Service was excellent. Food was excellent-however, think the amberjack fish was a bit dry and needed a sauce or less cooking? I have a feeling this might be said by most at the table and other tables. Will go back there and looking forward to it.
My husband and I went during restaurant week. First look at the menu did not wow us but the food did. We had the corn soup, the sausage entree (excellent)and the swordfish entree (could of had a little more flavor), the foie gras (was amazing) and the chocolate dessert(yum). Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. The wait staff was very friendly and the ambiance was romantic. It was a lovely evening.
Food was exotic but good. Portion sizes are small, which is probably the norm for French restaurants. Service was phenomenal. All wait staff were polite and professional, but our waiter, Chris, was exceptionally friendly and accommodating.
This was my first vist here:; it was a great day.Your front desk people and wait staff were wonderful. I could not have asked for a better day.
We had a wonderful lunch ordering from the Restaurant Week menu. The service was impeccable and it was delightful not being crowded at the table. The table for four was the size of a table for six in most other restaurants. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, which were well prepared and beautifully presented. The kitchen was very amenable to a special request due to a dietary restriction of one of the guests. Our server was very observant and realized that we were celebrating two birthdays. The added touch of special birthday desserts was very much appreciated.
Food was very good but portions are on the small side(difficult to share because of portion size) & as noted, restaurant is expensive.
went here for lunch for restaurant week. Server was very attentive and not over bearing. Absolutely loved the corn soup-mixed with crabs and the dessert assortments were perfect to finish off the meal. Well done and also had a beautiful view of Rittenhouse Square!
As we discussed with the GM, the appetizer and desserts were not close the expectations that we had for taste and presentation.
I loved my experience there and will certainly go back as soon as I can.
Restaurant for lunch was bright, quietly inviting. Our table looked over Rittenhouse Square. Food was delicious all around. Excellent service, although the waiter was a bit slow in coming back to take our lunch order after delivering drinks. Very nice experience.
A most wonderful dining experience.
Great food, service, ambience and location.
The chef's tasting menu is amazing. The thoughtful combinations of flavors and textures were fantastic. It is worth the splurge.
