My husband and I make a yearly visit to Phila, where we used to reside and where we have friends. Our Sunday ritual is brunch at Lacroix!
It is an extraordinary experience and unique!
Dining room overlooking Rittenhouse Square, lovely service and incredible food.
Oysters , caviar, smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail. An entire table of small bites and salads. Eggs, bacon, pancakes fresh whipped cream and berries. One takes a trip into the actual kitchen where the large array of hot food is laid out. Duck confit, sliced leg of lamb, Scottish salmon, among many other choices. Then to another room filled w desserts, cobbler, bread pudding a chocolate fountain.
Brunch is truly a wonderful experience.
Please try it next time....
Can not wait til next year!!
Amazing food and service. Would definitely come back!
It was a birthday celebration. A previous dining experience was excellent and this return visit did not disappoint.
Beautiful view of Rittenhouse Square Park, quiet atmosphere and a tasting menu on a par with the best we’ve had in Bordeaux. Well timed courses combined with an excellent description of how the wines paired with the courses. An excellent dining experience!
Very expensive, place needs a renovation
Over priced food menu. The pom frittes were not truly fresh cut or hand batch...probably frozen and larger cut fries like McDonald’s.
The flavor of the food did not leave me wanting for more. The red wine was extremely warm 70 degrees F and not balanced. The wait staff was very attentive and the service was great!
I would not return. Perhaps just a poor night in the back of house.
Excellent, very accommodating (added extra items to tasting menu simply because we expressed interest). Fantastic service.
Lovely dinner, I love the crispy honey apple, rabbit. everything was perfect will be coming back soon
Such a wonderful experience to go to a sumptuous, elegant brunch at Lacroix! Not to be missed!
We used to have New Year’s Day brunch every year at four seasons until they closed a some years ago. Ever since, we’ve been trying other places throughout the city looking for that same experience, to no avail. How have we missed this place all that time? Now that we’ve found it, Delighted to say the least! Best New Year’s Day brunch in Philadelphia for sure! Don’t know about brunch at the new four seasons and at this point don’t really care. This has officially become the new location for our old tradition!!! Yay! Everything was awesome, the selection, the service, the ambience, everything!
We had New Year's Day Brunch. Everything was delicious. A great variety and the service was outstanding!
Wonderful menu, great and friendly service. Overall, an excellent experience.
The bar service and food was wonderful. Over the weekend we visited it multiple times.
We sat for dinner around 9 on New Years Eve. We had asked for a window seat, and got one, but it was the last table to the rear. That was fine, but then we were ignored! When we finally ordered bottled still water for the table, we got sparkling, and since this first process took at least 15 minutes, it left a sad first impression. Then my wine class wasn’t clean, and while I had a view of most other tables, where service seemed impeccable, we were ignored. I finally switched sides with my husband so I didn’t have to watch. It was ironic b/c the table next to us ordered the wine tasting, and was literally fawned over as each new glass was explained with its course.
The service improved as the dinner progressed, and the food was excellent. The only weak dish was the pheasant—better than I expected but definitely not on par with the rest. We were also impressed with our Somm, who was very knowledgeable about wine.
As hotel guests, we returned for brunch on NYDay and had a completely wonderful experience. The options, the freshness, the different stations even in the kitchen were without a flaw. This time our service was excellent. Will definitely do brunch again!! We were there from 11-2! As we left, a waiter from the night before asked how dinner had been. I said it was okay but the brunch had been amazing.
One more thing. We had eaten dinner there in February for Valentines Day and had the best food and service, so I want to mention that we have had a much better experience before.
Truly exceptional and can’t wait to come back!
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Lacroix and would definitely go back. It was a very elegant place but they made you feel very welcome. Food and Service were top notch.
We had the most amazing night. Our waiter couldn’t have done anything better. He made our night extra special. Will absolutely be back.
Lovely. Great service. We ate at the breakfast buffet Christmas morning. It was expensive for a buffet that seemed slightly limited, but a beautiful setting and I would do it again.
We did a progressive dinner throughout the city: appetizers at Jeans Georges (Four Seasons), dinner at Del Frisco's, and dessert at La Croix. We have never been here before so when we arrived there was no one there to greet us when we entered the building. We did not know where to go, we looked around and couldn't find anybody, we thought we were in an apartment building and it was very dimly lit, and then somebody found the concierge desk around the corner to the left. We walked up to the desk and had to wait for the girl to stop typing before she even looked up and acknowledged us standing there. When she asked what we needed we asked for the restaurant and she directed us to the elevator by pointing in the direction. We were very excited to sit down and have dessert because we heard they had beautiful desserts. What a huge disappointment when we were handed a menu with only a few items on it. The chocolate dessert was extremely terrible. Three people tasted it and we almost had to spit it out. The waiter said he would take it off the bill. He brought us a tray of cookies instead. When the bill came the bad dessert was still on the bill. We brought it to the attention of the waiter and he apologized and said he will take it off but then commented and said he also took off for the cookies. They were also tasteless and the 2 other desserts were equally awful after one bite and were not eaten. An afterthought about the cookies: these were the same FREE cookies that were at the concierge desk that our server said he was not going to charge us for. Finally, no one even acknowledged the holiday season and wished us a Merry Christmas. It was very disappointing and we will never recommend this restaurant to anybody.
Lovely meal. But the highlight is the service. Amazingly attentive, kind and personable.
The tasting menu is well done and the service superb! High end, and worth it. We were a little late but this was no problem. Birthday treats were tastefully managed. It was a memorable dining experience.
The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location and the food is above average. However, service at lunchtime was painfully slow for a party of five with routine orders. This is not a great choice unless you can spend two hours for lunch.
We have been to Lacroix many times and enjoy the serenity of the restaurant, beautiful views and excellent food. Unfortunately, this time was a disaster.
There was a private party in a nearby room which was very loud. The restaurant staff kept leaving the door to the room open, which made the noise worse. We asked if they could keep the door closed, except when serving, 4 different times and only on the last occasion did they do so. How is it possible that in a restaurant like Lacroix that such a request is repeatedly ignored?
When we were leaving the restaurant, we encountered a manager and attempted to have a conversation about this incident with her. The conversation was very unsatisfactory.
All of this overshadowed the food which was also not up to Lacroix standards. We had multiple conversations with the many servers who were working our table about it and finally gave up.
Not sure why this otherwise fine restaurant had so many problems that night, but it did. And the response from the staff to our concerns was, in many ways, even more disappointing.
