Cyril was great and every morsel of good was delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
Food was awesome not heavy on sauce . Service was very friendly and professional . Didn’t rush us at all and at the same time were there if we needed any thing
It felt we were in France
Will go back again and highly recommend it
As always the food was excellent. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Great wine selection! This is on the of my favorite restaurants in Boston.
Very yummy meal! Impressed by the diversity on the menu.
Onion soup was dry. Medium steak was so raw it was cold in the middle. Way too much herb butter on steak (especially as because steak was raw and cold, so was butter). Not great. I’ve had much better there before.
Just excellent. Again!
La Voile never fails to impress. Such a great team.
This is a place I always come back to and it is always excellent. I highly recommend.
I was a little nervous about this place.
They really delivered!!!
The food and staff is amazing!!!!
Amazing food with a good balance of flavors and impeccable service. Strongly recommend.
I love La Voile and have been going there for years. The other day I went for dinner. Both of us ordered the Prix Fixe Menu. Everything was good until dessert. - the molten chocolate cake was just room temperature...
I would go back for the French onion soup alone.... It was probably the best I've ever had in the US or in France.
Food and service were great. Had the veal served table side.
Amazing meals, amazing service! Definitely be back !
We happened upon La Voile by accident one night, and a happy accident it was. Our meal that very first time was amazing, as was this one. The service is exceptional. One note for those unfamiliar - this is a true French restaurant and they will not bring you the bill unless you ask for it.
I loved everything about my experience at La Voile, but especially loved the escargot.
What a gem of a restaurant. Bar, Drinks, Atmosphere, Food, Service - all excellent. Our group felt like we had been IN France for dinner. Just wonderful!
Authentic French. Escargot was mouthwatering. Duck had a bit of gristle but was extremely tasteful. Mussels were huge and the broth was excellent.
Great service, nice menu. Like beinf in France
We finally got the chicken for 2 and we were not disappointed, it was delicious. This is one of our favorite places in Boston.
5 stars for the food, service and ambiance. Two stars (at most) for the desserts. Either the pastry chef was on vacation or they need to get a new one. The duck, mussels and rib eye were excellent as was the risotto and smoked salmon. The moulton chocolate cake which the waiter highly recommended was like a very dry cupcake and had no sign of anything “moulton”. The creme brûlée was runny although my son did like the apple tart. Overall a fantastic restaurant, just skip the dessert.
As always, La Voile was a treat. Great food and wine from start to finish. However, I have the same complaint for La Voile that I do for many other restaurants. The tables are jammed in too close. When you have to move the table completely out to have enough room to "slide" by, the tables are too close. As the fellow at the table beside us said, "Thanks for having us for dinner" as he struggled by. Would be an enthusiastic five star review, rather than an enthusiastic four star review, if not for the closeness of the tables.
Sublime. From the service and setting to the Dover Sole and amazing desserts, La Voile creates an amazing experience. Whether you are just visiting Boston or live in the area, move this restaurant at the top of your list.
Authentic French cuisine with fluent French speaking staff. C'est ci bon.
The food was spectacular. Worth the drive
It's a great date place.
Great Service And Delicious food.
Love this restaurant! Wonderful food, comfortable atmosphere, and great service!
We go to La Voile as often as possible, but especially for special occasions. The food is wonderful, the best Dover sole around, and there is an excellent wine list. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making you feel welcome from the moment you enter the restaurant.
Wonderful restaurant; I had the scallops which were amazing; my date had the mussels which were more amazing. The service was excellent, the wine that was recommended was perfect and the price was reasonable. Compared to the "Named High Profile" restaurants in Boston I think the service was better, the ambiance was better and the price was a fraction of what the other restaurants charge owned by named chefs. Better service, better ambiance, food as good if not better; what's not to like? I'm going back tonight actually.
Great French food! Would have given it greater reviews and stars but for the zero attention to the special occasion which brought us to select this restaurant. We mentioned our special occasion when we made reservations through Open Table. Some establishments read them, some don’t. This one didn’t.
We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday, as this was to be a romantic, french specialty restaurant for such a festive occasion. Definitely traditional authentic french cuisine with dates historical decor and cozy atmosphere, limited space, cafe style, within inches of the next table making it difficult to have a conversation with noise level. Drinks took long to arrive, appetizer came beforehand, and when we asked server he said the bar was backed up... Servers were nice. Food was delicious and plentiful, but presentation was not as noteworthy. Champagne was ordered to have with dessert, but forgotten. May return for lunch this summer to their outdoor cafe.
The atmosphere feels like you are in a vibrant French Bistro. The service is excellent
The food quite good from Duck Magret, Red Snapper and Steak Frittes highly recommend the restaurant
Excellent, authentic French bistro experience. Food was first rate and took creative inspiration from seasonal ingredients.
Authentic French service, décor and dining. Food was fantastic. My rack of lamb was cooked perfectly, and the escargot one of the best I have ever tried inside of the United States. My wife had the rib eye and my daughter had the sliced steak, all wonderfully seasoned and melted in your mouth. They served truffled mash potatoes which was to die for, but my daughter is allergic to truffles (too bad :( ) so they remade it plain -- and it was great as well.
Must make reservations for dinner as it often gets crowded.
The steak was one third fat and gristle. The wine good. The Dover sole good. The fries soggy.
I was disappointed in my most recent visit to La Voile (3rd time). I sent the Manhattan back because it was undrinkable. However the Foie Gras was excellent as was the duck, Le Magret. But the desserts were dreadful. My crime brûlée was cold and tasteless. Seemed it had been sitting in the refrigerator for quite some time and my daughter's chocolate cake was stale. Overall, it was a disappointing evening because we were there for a special occasion.
We have eaten here five times and the food, french ambiance and friendly service are consistently outstanding. The dishes are traditionally french with all the expected tastes and flare.
I want to make a specific comment about the wait staff. They truely make the leap from an excellent experience to “wonderful “. On this last visit it was Antoine who made the evening!
Excellent food and terrific service... wonderful place for a special date or occasion
Food and service are consistently great at LaVoile. The lunch menu has my favorite items from the dinner menu--but at a lower price. The lamb stew, which appears as a special sometimes, is excellent. The house wines are great as well. I love this place.
Fantastic food and service in a traditional brasserie venue.
This is an authentic French Bistro with excellent flavors and presentation. The duck was fantastic; the bread fresh out of the oven, and the wine list covering a full spectrum of complements to the cuisine.
