The entire dining 🍽 experience was awesome. The food was perfectly prepared full of flavor.
Waited over an hour for our dinner. Our waitress put in to have our appetizers after our meal, she said we requested that but we never did. The sea bass was over cooked and the duck was very chewy. The drinks were very good though.
Ordered the three course special dinner. The pate appetizer was very good, but a large slice of pate, which was very good, was acoompanied by two small slices of toast. I tried to summon a waiter, but no one looked in my direction, even when I stood up and tried to look them in the eye, Finally I got someone, who said right away, and then, finally my original waiter, who brought several larges slices of warm bread. The first person brought the same, after the pate was gone. The second course was confit of duck leg, which was tough, dry and stringy. Dessert was ok. Drinks were skimpy.
La Voile has definitely changed! Waited 1 hr for our food. The manager apologized and offered to pay for our all
Entrecôte was 75% fat. Peppercorn sauce was like a tasteless roux with maybe 3 peppercorns. Really shockingly poorly executed for a “typical French bistro .
Loved the food and atmosphere and our waiter was excellent. We would definitely go back.
Thé food was very good and our was server was helpful and pleasant .We will be back.
Lovely food, wine and service. Best of all, we were not rushed, and lingered as long as we liked.
Food was wonderful and the service was unfortunately authentic Parisian, but the atmosphere on a warm fall night on Newbury and level of the food stood far and above.
We had a wonderful dinner. Food and service (manners, food pacing) was superb - especially for Boston! Ambience was beautiful but relaxed. Will be back.
Delicious food. Wonderful service. Highly recommend this slice of France in Boston.
Food and service was great ! Got noisy after it got full!
A little slice of Paris in the Back Bay! They had me at the accordion music. We always have fun here. The menu isn't big, but it covers all the Parisian dishes. The service is outstanding and very casual French. The decibel level is loud enough to be dynamic but to still hear and overhear conversations. La Voile is a friendly, happy, homey place. I wish there was one in my neighborhood!
La Voile is one of our favorite pre-show dinner options. Everything was excellent on a beautiful night! Noise did not get 5 stars only because we asked to sit outside and the traffic was occasionally noisy.
Excellent. It's a solid restaurant. never a disappointment,.
Excellent food and a great wine list! Had a wonderful lunch outside on a beautiful Fall day!!
Wonderful dinner. Outside seating was available, very nice and festive. Knowledgeable and good natured staff. A great experience. We try to go a couple of times a year, and highly recommend it.
Like being in Paris. Wonderful every time! My go to place for lunches in town.
Great food. Great service and a great evening! If you're looking for a great outdoor venue in Back Bay, you owe it to yourself to try this.
We had David a most amazing waiter. The food was very good and they served very good portions. Sat outside on the evening after the Marathon and it was lovely and relaxing. Les Moules in saffron and creme were divine
Our waiters were very attentive. We loved the outdoor atmosphere. Even though we were on the streets of Boston, 6 of us were able to have great conversation (except when the street cleaner went by - but that wasn't even a big deal). The roast duck, French onion soup, mussels - all were fabulous! What a great find!
We enjoyed our time there as we were celebrating our first wedding anniversar. The food was delicious and everyone was very kind to us. 10/10
Have enjoyed both Back Bay and Brookline locations for many years. Food is consistently excellent. Serried is cordial and efficient. Ambience takes you to France.
Fantastic experience at the counter downstairs. Dover sole was delicious.
It was wonderful and great to be back after an almost 2 year absence..fabulous food, table and service , looking forward to returning in late November..Thank you to all!
We love the atmosphere and have never had a bad meal. The service is fabulous and gracious. Highly recommend.
Great outdoor table. Friendly, knowledgeable, highly competent server. Food exceeded our expectations. We were all very happy with our experience.
Always one our favorites but last visit was very disappointing with close to a 45 minute wait for our entrees.
One ought to like dining at La Voile as we are French American and too lazy to make duck confit at home. It was our second time there, and the charm started to fade a bit. Appetizers and entrees are classic, well executed and generally tasty, although one could question the necessity for an overpowering lemon taste in moules marinieres. Desserts (profiterole and mille-feuille) were very very disappointing (imagine lukewarm chantilly filled profiteroles and cold tasteless heavy millefeuille).
The music selection seems stuck before 1960, time to renew the playlist. I love Brel, but 30 min of his saddest songs are depressing the mood.
Highest note on the service.
Service was exceptional despite the crowded Marathon related visitors. Food is always beautifully prepared and presented. We love dining outside and watching the world go by.
We love this place, definitely regulars!
Good outdoor atmosphere. Surprisingly mediocre ribeye. Saw the waiter once at ordering, he attended to the adjacent table the rest of the night. Unlikely to return.
Delicious, very reasonably price French food! Came her very often for lunch on the week days or for brunch on the Sunday with family.
This place makes me feel like I'm back in Paris. As for the food, it's pretty incredible.
I order the Le Risotto, Les Pates and Les Tomates, the foods exceeded expectations.
Our servers were very friendly and considerate, always greeted with the beautiful smile.
Definitely will be my go place for French food.
Great evening and dining experience! I would definitely recommend La Voile and will come back.
Lovely restaurant that made me feel like I was in Paris. Food, service and ambiance all exceptional.
Always a pleasure to eat at LaVoile for a special occasion or a lovely meal out!
We ate at the high top tables facing the bar at the lower floor of the restaurant, tucked away from the main dining room, and in very close proximity of the other high top tables.
Throughout our time there, we were surrounded with the staff not wearing masks. The bar lady was mixing drinks with her mask under her chin, smelling her concoctions and even tasting them! I believe she was in the process of trying new recipes, that’s the only explanation I have for what was happening. To make matters worse, some of the staff were offered to taste some concoctions … it was a scene to be seen! The food was brought to the table next to us by a person coming right out of the kitchen without a mask at all! And the bar lady who also was our waiter would forget to put her mask on when interacting with us. Most of the staff in that area wore their masks, if at all, under their nose!
For that reason, I have given this restaurant 2 stars. It is the worst COVID 19 compliant restaurant I have ever eaten at. I have eaten out more often over the past year to support small local restaurants and am pretty low key. But staff wearing masks is a must for me. This being said, the staff was friendly and the food was good.
Love Pierre and La Voile
At first we were seated in a busy area near a service station inside and downstairs but when we requested a quieter location, they were extremely quick to locate another table where we could easily talk and enjoy our meal. The help was very attentive all evening. The menu was very interesting and I would recommend the excargot in a wonderful garlic, butter and parsley sauce as a starter, and the dover sole was an excellent entree which melted in your mouth. It was in a delicious meunier sauce and was boned tableside. The desserts were amazing too. The meringe cloud was unbelievably light and the pastry desserts were extremely flaky and fresh. There were also interesting dessert wines to top off the dinner. It was a totally winner evening, and for those who preferred outdoor seating, there was also plenty of that. Prices seemed very reasonable for a dinner of this caliber.
That was really good food and service. Wine selection is great.
