So rich phenomenal tastes!! Great dinner
Everything was great! One small recommendation: some heating would be nice outside
The Alex's service was 6 Stars+! Love them! A fabulous intimate evening with friends and food so delicious it was worth every penny. First-time visitor in Boston would come back to Boston just to eat here (her sister is here regularly and brought her here because she loves it).
Very good food
In short, the food, atmosphere, and place was amazing. The pea soup, quiche, salad, duck, steak, creme brûlée, and Floating island were delicious and flavorful.. only small complaint was our main course took awhile to get. But was given some more cotes de rhonne while we waited. Great anniversary dinner. Would come back.
Always a pleasure eating here and one of my favorite restaurants in Boston!
My husband ordered duck, which came out rare after he asked for medium - it took about a half hour to return, at which point it was terribly overdone.
The waiter was kind enough to give my husband a glass of wine and a reduction in the total cost, but this should not happen at a well-run restaurant.
The food was very good and the service was fine. However, we were seated at a wobbly table next to a stairway; moreover, this may be the only outside dinning area in Boston that is not currently equipped with heat lamps. Also, they told us to park at the Pru ($40) and neglected to tell us that there is plenty of street parking (free starting at 8) currently on Newberry Street.
The food was excellent and pretty outdoor setting. I had duck confit with a potato gratin which was incredibly good. Our server, Nicolas, was very knowledgeable and made the experience! We’ll be back!
A weekend getaway from NYC to Boston is what brought us to this gem of a restaurant. The entire experience was amazing - hands down one of the best meals EVER!! We had the escargot and risotto for apps and for dinner we had the Dover Sole and beef tenderloin. Everything was cooked to perfection and the truffle mashed potatoes that came with the sole were out of this world!!! I can’t wait for our next trip back if only to enjoy a meal here again!
La Voile never disappoints!
Our waiter gave us water even after we paid - I was very impressed about that because he did not rush us at all, which was impressive.
Excellent service and food was superb. Highly recommend this restaurant.
As always the food was awesome!
Although etc service is always great, this time it had slipped. The waiter seemed distracted
The escargot never disappoints. Dining outside was terrific.
Cozy restaurant with a menu featuring France’s greatest hits. Worth a trip if you are in the mood for an authentic French dining experience.
I took my grandmother for her birthday, the staff was so attentive and wonderful!
Enjoyed a wonderful Saturday evening celebrating my birthday at La Voile. Hadn't been there since the start of the COVID pandemic, so was happy to see they are taking it seriously and doing what they can to keep everyone safe. The food and service are just as good as ever. I highly recommend the quiche appetizer- a leek and truffle pie served with a small green salad. Absolutely delicious! Our server (Aleksander, I believe) was gracious and efficient. I live in Boston and La Voile is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the city. Highly recommended.
Lovely little French restaurant in such a lively neighborhood. The food is always delicious and trendy. The energy of this place is perfect for couples, families, friends. I would highly recommend.
excellent food and service. Outdoor seats in the front patio are wonderful, but the ones on the street are cramped and right by the traffic.
the waiter was very rude
La Voile has done a terrific job laying out the space to accommodate appropriate distancing, in fact, which also improves acoustics in the main dining area. I actually prefer the new layout. There are also options to eat outside in the open courtyard. The food is still delicious - authentically French but light. A FAVORITE neighborhood place for a dinner out or a special occasion>
I've been to this restaurant quite a few times during covid. Great food, culture and waitstaff.
Always a wonderful time. Our food was delicious and it was a perfect Fall evening for outside dining.
The most friendly service I experienced from a French restaurant with very impressive wine list. Well prepared authentic unpretentious and mouthwatering bistro fare in a charming brown stone building on Newbury Street.
We were seated outdoors due to C-19 issues. So ambiance and noise level isn’t relevant. Having said this the hostess was very accommodating in allowing us to switch tables twice because of noise or street traffic. Once settled we found the dishes ordered were well prepared classic French cuisine. Would have given the food a 5 star rating but for the duck breast that was a bit too chewy. One important note is the waiter who served us was delightful; professional, knowledgeable, and personable. He really enhanced our dining experience.
Came here for a beautiful leisurely lunch on Newbury Street, definitely recommend the haricot salad with duck confit, it was very pleasant, I need to come more often!
Such an amazing lunch. Eat the escargot! Our server was charming and helpful.
Superb food, ambiance, atmosphere, style. Recommend the trout!
This is a prime gem! Not only is the restaurant in a great location but the food and service are stellar. It was the second time I was there and have to say I couldn't be more pleased and it absolutely it one of the closest feelings to cafe culture of Paris. I highly recommend!
We had made a reservation for outdoor dining and when we got there, we were told it was not available for at least an hour. The blanquette de veau was mediocre , no flavor at all. The escargots had too much parsley. The foi gras was the only outstanding dish.
La Voile was the perfect dinner place for our wedding anniversary. David, our waiter, was really considerate about our needs and made us very confortable. We were seated outdoor as per our request and our table was very cosy and quiet, even though we were close to the sidewalk. And the food was so French! We will definitely come back!
We love this restaurant and have only had one experience aside from this recent one that we didn’t enjoy ourselves.
We arrived on time for our reservation and was brought in to a near empty restaurant to a horrible table. The table was in a corner with a high table and plant (fake?) in front of it. The table looked cramped and ‘hidden’. The restaurant was so empty I thought perhaps they were preparing for a banquet and that is why they would put us at such a table. I asked them for a different table, telling them this was not a good table for us, and was given an attitude. They complied and sat us ironically at the table we normally sit at which we love. However I was given a bad attitude by the hostess and the waitress, and when I asked if the seating was due to a party coming in the hostess replied ‘you booked the table with open table, so that is why’.
I’m not sure why that would matter, and we do usually call the restaurant directly though for some reason we were directed online to open table.
The initial waitress we didn’t see much of though she still made appearances, and the person that primary took care of our table (bus girl?) was fantastic. The food was good, though the items were the same from the last visit prior to covid. Not much vegetarian choices.
The staff was a bit unprofessional , hugging each other and talking personally in front of patrons, which led me to think the manager was not on duty.
Definitely not the experience we have been accustomed to over the years.
la nourriture était délicieuse et les services étaient spectaculaires.
Awesome fghtdsdgyyy hhdfggdss. Hgdsrf
I’m a fan of the duck and filet. I enjoy the beet salad. Their bread is outstanding! Try the vanilla ice cream with shot of espresso
we had a very nice champagne lunch. reasonably priced
Good dining experience with great food and service! Gas lamps and better lighting for outdoor would be great for the cooler evenings.
