Lovely ambiance, with lively, fun diners. Our hostess and waiter were very attentive, and the waiter recommended a very good wine! We had the seared foie gras and French onion soup followed by my wonderful rack of lamb and my husband's delicious veal dish - he raved about the sauce. We capped it off with chocolate mousse and cappuccino. A truly great night!
Excellent service great food!
Good wine suggestion - service was good, kitchen a little slow but it was Saturday night. Dover sole: worth it.
Fantastic Food plus Expert Wine Advice for Pairing...best ever!!!
Birthday. It was good but food was not as good as other French restaurants in the area. My steak was not prepared as requested. Wine was good and reasonably priced.
Well, I asked a few people where best French Bistro in Boston was and got this restaurant. My friends were right. It is so French, great food, awesome wine list, terrific staff. I can't wait to go back!!
Our favorite date night spot! Alex is the best!
The setting is typical of Parisienne bistro. Server was knowledgeable and attentive. Food was delicious, beautifully presented and plentiful. The Dover Sole was skillfully deboned table side and it melted in the mouth. This is a perfect place for an evening out with a special someone or a small group.
Wonderful special treat lunch - friendly, cheerful wait staff, delicious meal, quick service. The velouté and quiche were amazing and the chocolate mousse was the perfect finale!
Had a wonderful experience with 3 colleagues at lunch yesterday. We all selected different entrees and all of us were delighted. Three of us splurged for dessert and were equally happy with our choices. The service was flawless and the ambience was conducive to a business luncheon. We will be back!
We love this restaurant and the food was excellent and service attentive. The prices have increased quite a bit unless you order the set menu. Our guest was surprised by the high prices.
Excellent real French food as I know it from Cannes!
As always, the food and service was exceptional. We no longer live in Boston so now visit the restaurant only once a year when we visit friends. And yet, we still made to feel like very special friends visiting again.
Late lunch is best. Food is always great but noise level at dinner time...IMHO is obscene.
It was New Year's Eve, even the bar was totally reserved. There were a couple of groups that had been celebrating for a while, so it was pretty loud. After they left noise level was more normal & we struck up a conversation with the couple next to us. I expect on a normal night conversation will be possible. The food & service were wonderful, we asked for a wine to go with our meal, and below a specified amount, and were suggested one at 75% of our rate, it worked perfectly.
like being in Paris!! food was excellent, service outstanding!!
One of the most professional waiters I've had in some time! Fantastic service.
Fantastic food. Great service. Would recommend to a friend 100%
Highly recommend! Service was wonderful, especially my server, Nicholas. I had the sea bass for lunch and the strawberry cake for dessert- both were delicious.
It was our first time we loved I had the Dover sole meunière loved it will go back for the duck breast
First time eating at this restaurant and it won’t be my last. The food was amazing, compliments to the chef! Service was excellent also.
Just love it!!!
WONDERFUL SERVICE AND DELICIOUS FOOD. THE DUCK WAS COOKED A PERFECT MEDIUM RARE AND THE LOBSTER WAS JUICY AND FLAVORFUL. WE DEFINITELY RECOMMEND AND WILL BE BACK.
Holiday Family meal. Always good food here. Not the fanciest French restaurant in town but feels most Parisienne to me. Probably my go to when I need a good bistro meal. Like that you have the fish soup and Ile flotant on the menu. Maybe one day we’ll see some quenelles 😋
Perfect Christmas dinner!
We had Christmas dinner here for the second year in a row. Was wonderful.
Christmas Day and I was by myself. Between the ambiance, waiter, excellent wine and the couple at the next table it was a magical experience!
The wonderful Alex treated us to champagne to celebrate Christmas, my friend’s birthday and my frequent times dining at La Voile. Much appreciated!!
Amazing for any special occasion!
Wonderful family experience as always. Staff is welcoming, food lovely, service attentive not intrusive - truly professional. And the food takes me home to France. Lovely. Go for a date or go for Sunday dinner - always my favorite.
Very Good Food and Outstanding Service! We love this restaurant.
One of the best meals in recent past. Pan seared beef tenderloin done to perfection. Foie gras as well. Duck magret was the best of many we have had.
Urban Nutcracker performance, then walk across common and down Newbury. Perfect ending to day in the city.
Authentic French ambiance. Our waiter was especially good; helpful with the menu, gave us a complimentary glass of champagne we spilled, no pressure to order quickly or turn the table around. Old fashion European experience.
we love this restaurant. we come back again & again & its consistently great
This place was long in potential ambience and short on delivery. Very blasé setvice, food good but nothing memorable. They seemed not to care about customer experience. Grim bored people.
Table wait service was great but the food took excessively long (well over an hour) to be served after ordering .
I had the "Taste of France" menu and it was excellent. My wife had the steak & foie gras which was outstanding. Not cheap, but good value. Had to wait some time for our cocktail when we arrived (they only had one barman working, and he was "backed-up"... They apologized but didn't comp. us or provide us with anything other than water & bread while we waited... hence deducting one star for service. Otherwise wonderful night
Excellent in every respect. Absolutely will go back
Third time at La Voile. Consistently excellent food and the service was very good. Highly recommended!
