Perfect place for an outdoor lunch on a beautiful June day. Excellent food, and our server was especially helpful and nice!
Great food, wine and service as always.
Was in this restaurant for lunch some years ago and it was excellent. Organised to meet some friends there on thurs 13th June. The food was good but the four grasfor 26dollars was completely overpriced for two very small slices of same. The wine too is completely overpriced but I know this is the regieme in Bosto so different to Europe 48 dollars for the cheapest bottle of wine is too much . The risotto while nice was over salted and the chips on the other dishes were burnt but that appears to be the way they are served generally in Boston. Nice ambience and I really like the French vibe just don’t get the cost. I would recommend it to friends but Lunch is so much better value .
A special lunch with friends.
Every time I eat here my meals are incredible. And the staff often speak French adding to the authenticity of this French restaurant. Most recently the Dover Sole was incredible. I’ll be back again!!
The meal I was given was different than I ordered and was dry and tough. My wife’s fish was over cooked. I don’t expect I will return in the future.
The service was not good. The waiters brought the wrong drink and then took forever to bring the correct one. My companion ordered a salad for dinner and I ordered the 3 course, taste of France, and she was finished with her salad well before I was served my main dish. The foes gras appetizer was very good but the duck confit was only so-so. And we were there for 3 plus hours.
Service is top notch. Very comfortable. Great wine list. Classic dishes done well.
Amazing food and friendly staff!
ֵExcellent food and service in a pleasant, quiet room. Looking forward to a return visit.
Excellent service with amazing wine recommendations
La Voile is a real French Bistro with a special flare for cooking with love. The seafood is perfectly cooked- our favorite place to eat fish! And that is saying a lot for Boston! Everything else is also delicious, including the wine and cocktails. They have an intimate dining room that feels like a French boat - complete with a beautiful French poem on the walls (bring your French dictionary if necessary). Or sit outside on their lovely terrace when it is nice outside.
The beet salad, magret de canard, and sole were great! The glass of Sancere was insipid.
Delightful! Food is excellent. Though they were out of Crème Brule
The foie gras was not so good as before. Wine was very good and I appreciate the reccomendation. The waiter was very good.
Best restaurant in Boston! Everything they make is delicious!
Love this place !!!!! Fun and lively with delicious food and great wine recommendations!
One of our favorite restaurants in Boston. An authentic French bistro in our back (bay) yard. The fish soup transports you Provenece. You’ll think you’re dining in Aix.
We had a phenomenal birthday celebration. The staff was incredibly attentive and cheerful. Food is always delicious, and the ambiance takes you away from Boston into a fun French environment.
The duck confit we ordered was late and half-cold. Everything else was fine.
The atmosphere was genuinely Parisian and we were seated promptly. The service from both our waiter and the overall team was excellent. We never had to touch our wine bottle which is a good marker for attentiveness. The menu options, wine list and quality of cuisine was superb. My spouse thoroughly enjoyed her lobster/scallops, while I was impressed by the flavor of my ribeye. Escargot, F.onion soup, flourless chocolate cake were all excellent.
Great spot for lunch -- makes you feel like you've stepped into a Parisian bistro.
The food is superb. It was a busy night (even though it was Wednesday), and so the service was a little slow. Very friendly staff. It is noisy and the tables are close together, however. I wear dual hearing aids and had a difficult time understanding what my two dining patrons were saying. Still love the place! We live one block away.
When we visit Boston always try to dine.
The cuisine is truly French. The ambiance is quite French, though with some terrific, but not French speaking, staff. Wine selection is also excellent. A bit pricey.
Service was excellent and the food is reliably well-prepared and delicious.
No good options for vegetarians. This is not a small problem. I would not recommend to group that have vegetarians.
In our group the vegetarian ended up with side dishes only. It would not be hard to have one option for a common issue.
My food was fine, I had the steak frites -- the steak was over cooked (asked for med rare, got well done) but the fried potatoes were fantastic, good enough to make up for the steak. I enjoyed the meal.
Dessert (mousse) was good but not superlative.
I highly recommend La Voile in Boston and in Brookline, and will continue to do so. Terrific food and all the fish dishes are superb. The atmosphere in both restaurants os very cozy and friendly.
La Voile in back bay is great. I have been eating there for years. But service was off on Saturday night. We were seated in their back/side room and maybe that was why. Our waitress was not attentive and she would run away from our table so quickly that we physically had to walk over and find her if we needed something. We asked for water, and we wanted a glass of ice. We asked for water but before we could get the ice request out of our mouth, she was gone. This happened all evening.
The food was superb!
For a well reviewed restaurant the experience was particularly underwhelming. The appetizers were good but flavorless, foie de gras and escargot. The main courses were below par, steak au frites (cut of meat was thin and poor quality, mostly fat and gristle). The duck confit was seriously over cooked, with a thick nearly impenetrable glazed skin.
Will not return. Definitely not recommend to anyone.
Good food in general. Sole was kind of boring. For $37.00, it was a couple of small pieces of sole, no sauce, just boring. Cheese latter also skimpy. Most everything else was pretty good.
We had a delicious dinner at La Voile. The food is excellent. One feels like they are in France. We will certainly return. My only complaint, was it was very loud so next time, I would select a different table perhaps.
Very good traditional French cuisine. Highly recommended.
The flavors and freshness of the food is always there. Wine list is very good quality and diverse.
my second visit. My cousin is a huge fan of french cuisine, definitely brought her to La Voile!
Great Old Fashioned French restaurant for a special occasion with your wife or fiance. Great food, excellent service! a splendid intimate restaurant.
Great French food. Great dining experience
Great European feel. Server was very helpful. Food was great too.
