La Vita Bistro
Excellent food and service, as always. My husband ordered the surf as turf as he did the time before. He was again very pleased. I ordered the special entree for the evening, lemon chicken. It was delicious. Upon leaving, staff assisted us in using an alternate door that was closer to out parked car which was very appreciated in this cold weather.
The food is consistently excellent at La Vita Bistro. Our group of seven had a variety of selections, and each was well prepared and tasted great. Our waitress Maggie was wonderful, both fun and efficient; we have enjoyed her service on multiple occasions.
I made my reservations online and must have missed where you can request a booth...we ended up having to sit at the bar for about 30 minutes but in the end, we did get our booth, which is a lot of why we choose your restaurant, love the booths. Our meal was very good. Had to wait awhile for a drink while sitting at the bar and then there wasn’t any Bloody Mary mix☹️All in all it was a positive experience.
This is the Second time my wife and I have dined in the restaurant. Both times have been great! Food is good, atmosphere is cozy and the price is reasonable.
Your staff was very helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for our Valentine's Day dinner!! Thank You!!!
I was enticed by coming on valentine's day for their firecracker shrimp special thinking it was the same recipe they stopped serving on their menu that we really missed. The shrimp was no way firecracker - no spice! Not the same recipe at all - disappointing. We love the calamari app! Waitress was super friendly. Love the local spot!
This restaurant has been one of my favorites through the years. The first time I walked into this restaurant was over 10 years ago, and I have always regarded it as the exquisite dining experience in the area.
The draw to this place was the combination of beautifully presented food that tasted amazing, ambiance that screamed Italian bistro, and staff that knew the menu and actually tasted the daily specials. It was truly a “dining experience”.
I took my wife here for Valentine’s Day (2019) expecting nothing less than what I have come to love about this place—except this time, it was different.
It was not the same place anymore, the decor has changed from Tuscan Bistro, to modern Nashville (full of deer horns & reclaimed wood). The wait staff really had to think about what the specials were, and couldn’t recommend anything beyond what they were told.
The dipping oil for my bread was doused with seasoning salt or chili power rather than balsamic & herbs. The Caesar salad was made using the mostly the white parts of the romaine lettuce with brown, dead bits. The Entree’s were over-cooked, dry and over sauced...
All of the details that used to make this place special, have seemed to vanish. I know it was Valentine’s Day, and you would expect the stress level to be higher—but my reservation was at 5:00 PM, and there were only about 5-8 guests in the restaurant at the time...
Times change & things change, I understand that. Restaurants have to adapt to their demographic to make money. I guess I was just hoping that this place never would.
La Vita is a great family-owned restaurant with wonderful Italian and American dishes. The fish chowder is excellent! Cozy and lovely dining room with large booths as well as tables and a small bar. It also has a nice courtyard with fireplace. A real oasis out in an area with not many fine dining restaurants.
The service and food was outstanding. Jenni our server was on top of her game. LaVita is a hidden Gem in Pinckney.
It was great for having dinner with friends and to be able to have conversations.
Everything was great! We had a wonderful waitress that did very well with all of us & she knew her stuff! Our food was well prepared & tasted great!
The only complaint was that you were out of quite a few things! That was a bit disappointing.
New Year’s Eve dinner. I haven’t been to LaVita Bistro in a few years, and they were able to accommodate my vegan diet and my husband loved his filet! The food and drinks were outstanding. It was a bit noisy and crowded, but it was New Years Eve. The wait staff was great and made sure we were happy with everything.
Fabulous service and wonderfully prepared specials.
Last Friday night, food was very good. Service was awful. Server was not around much. Was not familiar with items on the bar list and not extremely familiar with the menu. Waited for a long time to order, to re-order drinks.
Great evening of delicious food, drinks and service! Highly recommend!
We always enjoy our selections. Reasonable prices with generous servings.
Spicy bow tie pasta is superb although the portions have shrunk. Salads and soups and bread are delish!!!
Great hidden gem in downtown Pinckney. We both enjoyed our meal and the service.
Seems it's hit or miss with La Vita Bistro. Our previous visit, prior to this, was not good due to the service. This visit was very good. The waitress was excellent (and the hostess). The food was really good though they messed up... with the steaks that were ordered... Two of us ordered the ribeye, one medium, the other medium rare. My friend got what I ordered and I got what he ordered. The server, not the waitress who has waited on us all night, came to the table with the medium rare steak first, announced it and I accepted it. Then the other steak came out (medium) and placed before my friend It wasn't until after we're half way through the steaks that we realized, he got the medium rare, and I got the medium. Not a deal breaker but this is the type of thing that seems to happen here.
Wives' meals were really good according to them.
Drinks (craft cocktails we ordered) were kind of pricey, especially since there looked to be more ice than liquid in the servings.
We've been here before and will probably come back again but attention to details and less aggressive pricing would put this place over the top.
1st time to La Vita Bistro. The food was very good. The only complaint we had was the price of the wine for the amount you received. If I am having wine I want to order something I enjoy not order something for the price. I do not know of any place else of this calliber of restaurant that charges $10 a glass of wine. This was not a wine that runs hundreds of dollars. We buy it all the time. The glass was large but the amount was small. If you are charging that price you might want to put it in smaller glasses so people don't feel like they are being taken.
I asked for a booth for 3 people and the hostess said we have a lot of 4 and 6 top reservations tonight and would a table be okay. Not wanting to make a big deal I said a table was fine. The hole time we were there the booth behind me remained empty.
Staff was amazingly friendly and fun! Felt like family dinner. Free dessert for my husbands birthday! Caramel apple sangria was delicious! Chocolate cheese cake was the best dessert I've ever had. Husband loved his spicy chicken pasta. He's Italian and pretty critical of restaurants serving Italian food. He was thrilled with his meal!
Jamie was great! Very helpful and good with recommendations!
Arrived with reservation and were told the kitchen was very understaffed and it would be at least 20 minutes before we would be seated and that the food would be slow (told this several times throughout our meal). Finally got bread and drinks after 30 minutes. We asked for more bread while continuing to wait for our meals and were told by our waitress ," I don't know, you already got one basket and the kitchen is backed up. I will see if I can get you a little more". Ridiculous! The food was actually great when it arrived an hour after our arrival. The whole night was so poorly handled that it was laughable. Not exactly the special night out we had hoped for. The table was also very sticky.
This was our 2nd visit, and while it was much busier and they were apparently short kitchen staff, the food was still wonderful and the service was great. We were a little put off at the beginning as I had made a reservation and we arrived right on time. There was a couple in front of us who hadn't made reservations and they were immediately seated. When the hostess came back for us, we were told there was a mandatory 20-minute hold and we'd need to wait at the bar (which isn't particularly festive). Really thought that could've been handled a little better. But once seated, everything was terrific. Will definitely add this one to our regular roster.
Unfortunately we will not be returning customers. Food was bland and my husband's steak was overcooked while the mashed potatoes that came with it were barely warm. We noticed 2 other tables complaining about their food so it's clearly a common problem and not just a rare occurrence.
Went to dinner as a group. The service was very good but there were major kitchen delays that caused the salad's and soup to be delayed until just before the entree's were brought to the table. Two of the soups actually came after the entree was served.
The entree's were all very good but the timing of the food was clearly an issue in the kitchen. Additionally, there were many used dishes and glasses that could have been cleared by the bussing staff that was ignored even though they were cleaning the tables around us.
La Vita is a very good restaurant but there are clearly areas that need to be tightened up a bit.
Awesome Wait staff very friendly and great
Second visit. Tuesday night live entertainment. Food was excellent again. Outdoor seating comfortable and not noisy.
It is refreshing to find a quality restaurant like LaVita in a small town. The atmosphere is cozy. There is a wide variety of dishes, all prepared excellently. If you live nearby then visit often. If not, it's worth the drive out to Pinckney. Enjoy!
Our group had a lovely time. The staff was very friendly and the food delicious. The only downside was how noisy it was. Hard to hear the person across the table noisy. We don't live close by but we will be back.
The food as always was excellent but my chicken marsala needed more sauce. It was not presented as I have had it before so it was not as appetizing in the bowl. The chicken parm was fantastic.
Server needed a bit more experience in wines available but managed to answer all our questions by offering a taste.
Thanks for a great meal and a great price.
Dinner the other night was excellent , but that is what I have learned to expect. A friend of mine is the person who originally recommended this dining spot by saying " Who could expect a fine dining experience in the Village of Pinckney " But it is fine dining in Pinckney
I will be back soon
Great food, nice atmosphere, a hidden gem in Pinckney!
3/4 meals came cold...heated further...food reasonably good
Disappointed that after many visits here, they always seem to be out several menu items. And we're usually informed well after we've placed our orders! Additionally we dine early in the evening. Super disappointed this keeps happening!
I stopped in for lunch with my sister. The food was just alright. The chicken dish I ordered with the bleu cheese cream sauce and angel hair pasta was so heavy that I didn’t enjoy it very much. Seemed pricey for what you got. The restaurant itself is cute. That’s what drew us in.
My wife and I were pleasantly surprised to find this good of a restaurant in our little town of Pinckney. We are gluten free and the menu was made for us, even had a gluten fee dessert. Price was reasonable and the food was excellent. We will be back.
We felt rushed! Weren't even half way with our soup and out come the entrees! Wes our waiter was very attentive though!
We go here once a year when visiting close by for a trail race. We look forward to our evening there as much as w do the trail race. Never disappointed.
