Restaurant was closed for the month and no one bothered to let me know!
The food was fantastic! More seafood than you could ever possibly eat in one sitting.
We ordered Bloody Mary’s because they looked really good at the table next to us. They had olives, cheese, pepperoni, pickled okra, and a shrimp as garnishes for the bloody Mary. When our Bloody Mary’s arrived, there was an olive on a stick and that was it. I asked the waitress what happened, and she said they ran out but she would go and get us the garnishes. She promptly went behind the bar and brought out all of the garnishes for us. It was just strange and all around bad service.
We will go back but definitely ask to be seated with another server.
This was the most impressive brunch we have ever been to. Will definitely become regulars .
Food was wonderful! Went for Sunday brunch buffet. The seafood selection was incredible. We had a great time.
Enjoy lunch with my staff. Great place to go for Christmas
Wonderful holiday ambiance with Philbrook's light festival out the huge windows. Excellent service, Chipolte shrimp and grits were fabulous. Perfect stop before strolling the grounds and galleries.
The food is always delicious and the service is outstanding. The restaurant has a really nice view with lots of windows so there is no bad seat. Love having brunch here.
Through the years this has been and still is our favorite spot in Tulsa. We are museum members in Oklahoma City and enjoy visiting not only the museum but the LaVilla.
We have always had the very best service until last Sunday. We were unable to understand why all of the guest around us seemed to get good service from Shaun but not our table.
The very nice hostess who seated us at our patio table assured us that Shaun would be right out to adjust our umbrella and serve us. Shaun did appear, adjusted three umbrellas around us and started heading back into the establishment. My husband asked very nicely if he would also adjust our umbrella. He seemed a little rushed but did take care of the adjustment. I made a joke being fair skinned "that I was a delicate flower and needed shade." He bluntly stated that there were plenty of tables inside if we wanted to move and left. He finally returned to take our drink order. We felt a little like the cellophane character in Chicago during this visit. Water glasses around us were filled but ours remained empty. We had to ask for refills. His offer of a 2nd glass of champagne was perfectly timed....if only the champagne had arrived at our table before we were finished and ready to leave. We had not reserved an outside table, but the lovely hostess obliged with the stipulation that we were to finish by a certain time. So we couldn't linger over another glass with the clock ticking. The time wasn't a problem, but the slow and absent service certainly did not make for the best meal. Perhaps our table was not supposed to be assigned to Shaun and he was upset. Whatever the reason, Shaun's poor service results in LaVilla not receiving the excellent rating they usually deserve. We will be back and next time are hoping the excellent standard returns too.
The pork wellington and roast beef in the breakfast buffet were terribly overcooked, making them dry and tough. We've had brunch at the Philbrook a number of times and been happy, but this time was really disappointing.
Oh my goodness. It was delicious.
I have been here multiple times and had very good service. for that reason I would recommend this place. Although the service this time was not good at all. Very slow and did not check on us at all.
Very relaxing meal with comfortable surroundings and pleasant atmosphere! Food was taste worthy and plentiful!
We had a fabulous time and went to Philbrook to see the latest additions and to celebrate our anniversary.
12:30pm Sunday-No hostess and a line to be seated, food visually was tired and used looking.
shrimp shooters not on ice and warm, broken crackers tossed on table for cheese- not replenished. In general service was poor, food rarely refreshed and not visually appetizing.
Best thing on buffet, fresh omelettes, bacon and the Artichoke dip. Prime rib over cooked and dry. Bread pudding looked like it had been previously eaten. Really - I remember when this was the place to go and to brings out of town guests. This place needs a lot of TLC and service training. Chefs food gives the impression that he or she just wants to get it over with.
One of our favorite locations for brunch. Their selection of salads is wonderful - fresh fruits, cheeses, etc. and what's great is the selections change - seasonal fruit, even fresh crab legs and shrimp cocktail.
Love the omelet and waffle stations also. But save room for dessert!
From the mimosa at the start to the final coffee -- a wonderful dining experience!!
Salad bar was weak this time and seafood spread wasn't as good as last time. I hope it is just a one time thing and that the food quality won't stay down as it was this time compared to other times we've been. Wish bread pudding had more sauce or sauce on side. It was great to see Sean again though!
Excellent brunch! We went to the Waterfront Grill brunch recently and it was a mad-house. We couldnt enjoy ourselves since we were waiting in lines. La Villa was nothing like that - it was such a much more pleasant experience. They take reservations which helps control the ebb and flow of people. The food was fresh and plentiful with a good variety of choices. In summary, we enjoyed our meal and Father's Day celebration.
Always impressed with La Villa for Sunday Brunch! The food is very good and gives you a good chance to see what's new at the Philbrook. Just wish the buffet wasn't quite so expensive! Overall very good have been 3 times will most likely go again!
We love the atmosphere. The availability of items not usually found on Midwest buffets-oysters, mussels, etc is pleasing. Selection of cheeses is great
I had been here a few times before and had a pretty good experience, but this was definitely an "off" day for them. Waitstaff took our order, then left us for what seemed like an interminable time, long after we had finished out coffee and tea without offer of refills, and with never a glance in our direction until the arrival of our "quiche" (which was two cups of crust, each with a small dollop of eggy stuff in the middle) and tasteless salmon tacos with limp garnish, barely visible portion of "pesto" sauce, limp greens, and cold 3rd-rate flour tortillas. Then another long wait to pay. The view to the patio was nice.
I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday, and he kept saying it was the best meal he had ever eaten.
Excellent choices of food, mostly breakfast. Great for brunch. Excellent, attentive staff very helpful. The only problem $25 a plate for brunch is to much!
Buffett-style, but very nice. Linen tablecloths & excellent service for Brunch.
We love the food at the OKC Art Museum, and have enjoyed the food at exhibit openings for many years so were slightly disappointed.
Brunch on Sunday is great! Restaurant overlooks Philbrook's beautiful gardens. The whole restaurant is a piece of art!
Absolutely wonderful experience!
I loved the food, service, and decor
Excellent service. Best Sunday brunch in Tulsa. Great for special occasions.
My family absolutely loves the Sunday Brunch at the Philbrook Museum! The staff is friendly and the food is excellent !! La Villa Restaurant offers a little of everything. You will not be disappointed and will be thinking about it for days afterwards!!!
Great Brunch! Wonderful upscale choices that did not disappoint
Reservations at 1:30. Brunch was advertised until 2:30. We thought that was for seating.
At 2:30 they dropped the check off at the table . I went to have a waffle for dessert and found they had already cleared the stations and putting most away. It would have been nice if they had told us before they started putting food away. At 1:30 there were empty food areas that never got replenished. This was my first time at the restaurant. I am from out of town but visit Tulsa 6-8 times a year. Not sure I will risk going back or recommending.
The service was poor. The waitress forgot the wine and salads. The champagne which was served was flat and of poor quality. The salmon was so over cooked that it was almost dry. This was our first time at the restaurant and the people we were with indicated that this had not been their previous experience.
We sat out on the patio, which was beautiful! That's the only way I'll ever eat at La Villa. I took my girlfriend for Sunday brunch, and the food was not worth the price. It's served buffet-style, so the food was sitting out and wasn't hot. The waitress seemed too good to serve us, and the coffee wasn't that great. I'll never go back for Sunday brunch, but I may try the lunch during the week
I attended the Sunday afternoon brunch with my dad and 3 children ages 4, 8, and 11. We all enjoyed the variey and excellent quality of the foods provided. There was something for everyone - in addition to standard breakfast fare, there was an incredible baked brie, king crab, prime rib, shrimp cocktail, salmon, pork roast with garlic mashed potatos, devine belgian waffles with warm maple syrup, fresh strawberries and whip cream. Probably the best red velvet cake i have ever shared ( so full, couldn't do it alone). Far to many foods to list every one. Everything we tried was fresh and very good.
There were a wide range of age groups present, consisting primarily of couples and families. A young man proposed during our brunch which really brightened the mood (she said yes!). Many of the brunch guests were found wandering the gardens after the meal.
It was all very nice. Only one complaint - lipstick on 2 of the water glasses served at the beginning of the meal. These were promptly replaced, but still - yuck.
For the price, the food and experience was not worth it. I would think that $15 w/ drinks included, is a more logical price for what you have to offer.
I'm a frequent diner at Villa. Always friendly, efficient service and good food. My five guests also enjoyed it. The soup was delicious and the beef sliders, also. Definitely recommend. Lunch only.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed. This restaurant came so highly recommended but I think it's their brunches that are considered the best. I had a club sandwich with sweet potato fries and my fries weren't cooked all the way through. I was also disappointed that it was my friends birthday and I was told they don't give free deserts for birthdays. I don't mind paying the nominal amount for it but it's the principle of the thing. I've never heard of restaurant that doesn't give free desert for birthdays but rather, makes you pay. The waiter wished her a happy birthday when he brought the desert but I guess I'm just used to managers and other people doing their best to make that person feel special on their special day. I should have done my homework, had I known I would have taken her elsewhere where the desert was free AND they make a big deal about her birthday. The lackluster lunch made me rethink ever going again, even for brunch. There's plenty of other paces in town where although the ambience might to be as beautiful, the food and service is stellar. It just wasn't what I would have expected from La Villa.
Has to be one of the best Sunday brunches in Tulsa with the best ambiance. It is also one of the pricier ones.
We took a friend to Brunch for her birthday, I think between the three of us we tried some of everything on the buffet. All the food was excellent, and the servers were perfect. Will do it again soon.
A wonderful opportunity for art lovers to stop for a lunch at the restaurant in Philbrook Art Museum. The food and service was excellent.
The food was excellent and well worth the price, which is very reasonable and competitive with other dining in the area. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing at lunch and the service was very polite and professional. I somewhat expected a better view of the garden, and there was not much greenery pulled in from the outside or adorning the patio. What I could see was beautiful, but I would have like elements to be a little closer.
