La Vida Cantina Ratings and Reviews
Once we sat ourselves near the bar during happy hour. The buss boy was auick to bring us chips and salsa. However, it took quite sometime for our waitress to realize that we were never attended to. We were nearly done with our chips amd salsa by that time. But once our order was in. Time for service was appropriate for the crowd that was there at that time. They also had live entertainment, but was unable to hear unless you sit closer towards him.
Horrible service!! Poor job with chef/waiter with costumer severe allergy to ingredient, still brought the dish out with the ingredient! Waiter was not attentive at all. Manager on duty was not very helpful. Waited 40 minutes for the bill and there were charges on the bill that were not part of our party. Overall, worst experience ever. The only good part about the night was the Dj that was there! He rocked it!
Came here for a going away get together with friends before we went out to go to the bars in Newport Beach and it was a great start to the night! We sat outside in one of the big booths, our server was great, and the food and drinks were awesome.
The restaurant had a nice ambience and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
P.S. our server was extremely accommodating and did not make us feel bad about any of the requests that we made... did not catch his name but I believe he had ginger hair. If you are reading this and you are management you should let him know he is a great employee!
Service was the worst...we had to get up several times to ask again for things....napkins, water (3 times), lime for drinks, utensils (after food came), xtra plate...basically everything we needed. We listed our complaints to the manager...all he did was shrug his shoulders. Didn't care what so ever.
Service was horrible, we had two different severs wasn't sure witch one was the official one. We waited for an hour for one of them to take our orders. Also we waited too long for our food, honestly me and my boyfriend were really disappointed. We did not like this place we won't be returning to this restaurant anytime soon.
I went for Mother's Day and the food was beyond horrible. My mother in law is Latina and the second she tasted the food she knew it was a day or two old even the rice was hard from being re cooked over again. It was very disappointing and over priced for two day old food. I paid 100 for a dissatisfied brunch.
I've been a regular costumer for awhile now. I've been pretty happy with the service, food and drinks. But last time at brunch (4/23) the serivce was really slow and everything was taking awhile from the food and getting drink refills. Our server looked like he wasn't paying attention to our table and seemed in a rush to get our order and we had to repeat our order to him a few times. If the service continues to be this slow i am going to brunch somewhere else and i'll let friends and family know not to waste there time.
Service was poor. We had two different waiters, not sure which one was the official one. Forgot our drinks after waiting 20 minutes. Food was dry. Service was extremely scattered. Carnitas was very dry - not that edible. Guacamole was excellent !! It was close to the theatre and that was good and reasonably priced.
This place is great! The Food is good, however service is horrible. We went to celebrate my friend's birthday and had the worse experience ever.
Service was horrible. When I asked to speak to the manager (female) she came over to our table didn't introduce herself and asked if we asked for her.
I thought she was a person dinning in the restaurant who just came over our table. I would reconsider to celebrate a special occasion there.
The service was not good. Despite having a reservation, we were not seated promptly. We rarely had contact with our waiter, so getting utensils and water was nearly impossible. They also let us know that they would set up the outdoor heaters, but they were not set up until we were about to leave. The atmosphere was great, though. If the service had been better, I would probably return.
I was disappointed with the food and service. We had a party of 8, and they got everyone's dinner order wrong - My sister is prenant and she asked for no cojita cheese, yet they delivered her food with the cheese. They switched my salad instructions (chicken with dressing on the side) with another persons steak salad (no dressing). It's a fun environment but they need to work on their service . The food wasn't that great either. Better go for drinks and eat prior.
Service from our waiter was great. Other staff members not so much. When you come by trying to clear the table of empty dishes but you only try taking the glasses that are still half full and leave all dirty empty dishes and glasses just doesn't work with a party of 8. The food is usually great and this time was very generic. Margaritas are usually awesome, which was the whole point of the happy hour timing and this time it lacked alcohol and was all sugar.
