My wife and I went for our anniversary. Mike, our waiter, was very nice and helpful. He made great suggestions on dishes and let us take our time and didn’t rush anything. We sat outside and other than the local air raid siren going off, it was quiet.
Our first visit and our 35th wedding anniversary! We could not have picked a better restaurant for an intimate dinner and a great bottle of wine to celebrate. Food was outstanding and our waiter, Omar, is the best there is. We will return for sure.
We had a wonderful lunch and our server even brought my mom tiramisu with “happy birthday” written in chocolate for her 81st birthday! What a special treat-thank you!
We enjoyed our dinner at La Verona, a popular Italian restaurant in Kennett Square. The Mushroom Gratin appetizer was very good - several types of mushrooms and melted cheese over toast points. It's a hearty dish and good for sharing. For entrees we had Chicken Picatta, prepared with a light, flavorful sauce, and the daily meat special, a veal chop prepared with mushroom sauce. Both were excellent. If you like sweet cocktails, try the Peachy Retreat signature cocktail recommended in the Summer 2018 edition of FIG Kennett Square - it was really good. It was a pleasant evening, and we dined at the cafe tables outside the restaurant. However, it was very busy this past Friday night with the Farmer's Market across the street and First Friday Art Stroll in town. For quieter outside dining, come early in the week or ask for a cafe table around the side of the building vs. along State Street.
It was our first time at La Verona, and it was a great experience, from the time we entered until we left. The server was very good and the food was excellent. My wife and I are definitely planning to return.
As usual, great meal and service! we have been many times and are never disappointed with the service or food.
La Verona is always enjoyable with very good Italian dishes and especially good desserts. On this occasion, Kennett Square's Third Thursday outdoor dining event, we were accommodated outdoors despite a slight misunderstanding that a two day previous Open Table booking would only offer indoor seating. It was perfect weather, the furniture was surprisingly comfortable for folding chairs, the food was excellent. However they were woefully understaffed. Waiters were literally running to and from the kitchen, and after serving our appetizers and main courses at the same time as drinks and wine, we didn't see ours again until the check came (almost 2 hours later) with no offer of dessert. We had a wonderful evening, but felt bad for the staff. They should hire some temps or, sadly, accept fewer reservations.
We had a great lunch at the window table good spot excellent value and excellent service!
One of our party needed gluten and dairy free food and that came together well. waitress was very helpful. I ordered a salad that i was fairly certain was supposed to have cheese and it did not. Another friend ordered a Reuben and she said it was quite good. We will go back there.
Very delicious spinach raviolis and reasonably priced wines. Great service!
Don’t bother making a seating request through open table because the owner doesn’t check it
Really disappointing dinner in Kennett Square. The restaurant is drab and outdated, the services was slow and inaccurate and the food was not good.
The food was delicious and the staff very attentive. It was our second time eating there and would highly recommend it for anyone living or visiting Kennett Square. The calamari appetizer and fresh hot bread were tasty and a great start to the meal. We all seemed to have a different parmesan meal; eggplant, chicken and veal. La Verona was amenable to our special requests (substitutions, easy on the sauce, etc) and everything was fresh, hot and very tasty. Great value for the portions, a wonderful neighborhood eatery.
Everyone had a great meal. Service prompt friendly and informed
Our party enjoyed the evening and the food was very good.
A great find thanks to Open Table. Wonderful menu. All meals were delicious!!
Great wine selection and delicious food! Our waiter Mike was excellent!
Busy night for Art Walk- service was professional and knowledgeable, but slow. Duck with Orange sauce was tough and served on the bone. It was hard to cut and seemed over cooked. Adaptions were made to the sides as requested. A band was playing in the other room which added to the noise but could be fun for added activity after dinner. The restaurant is a nice place and in the heart of Kennett, but we had a bad night. Nobody acknowledged that we noted a special birthday on the reservation.
Great experience at La Verona! We came for a birthday dinner in between an afternoon at Longwood Gardens and the evening fireworks show. The special arugula salad with goat cheese and fruits was delicious and enough for 2 people to share. The crab cakes were excellent, as well the chicken arrabiata. The eggplant parm was the best I've ever had. Service was good and we had plenty of time to get back to Longwood for the evening's festivities.
Good food and friendly staff
Very nice service and fresh food.
First time to this restaurant. Not surprisingly, the mushroom app was fantastic. Crab and Lobster ravioli was a treat. Reasonably priced wines and overall a very good experience.
Great food and service! I went with a friend and we ate at the bar. The band played and they were really good and not too loud so we could still have conversation. Highly recommend this place for a fun night out of good food and drinks. Great service at the bar!
We Went there for a third Thursday to eat outside on the street due to a rain day man was canceled then and we eat inside we got the table at the window and our dinner was excellent and the service to!
The salmon could have used some sort of sauce as it was a little dry but the rest of our platters which included the chicken parmesan, chicken marsala, Margarita Pizza, and all our deserts were excellent.
We went for Mother’s Day. Wanted to be close to longwise gardens.
Great food and awesome service. The kids and family enjoyed! Thanks Mike!
Would have given food a much higher rating, but my wife's veal parmesan was tough and not very good. My seafood linguini was excellent. So it was a mixed bag.
Waiter was great. Very personable and humorous and knew how to stay out of way but be there frequently enough so you weren't looking for him.
Friendly and efficient staff. Very good food cooked to order.
I go here often and enjoy the ambiance and staff and food.
Went to this restaurant on a groupon deal. Food was over sauced, too buttery. Not our cup of tea. Would certainly not go back.
I love La Varona. The food is always great, the people are nice, & they have a good atmosphere. The new bar menu has a lot of good stuff on it, but I suggest either the braised beef sliders or the grilled octopus. There both really small, light, & good for a snack while your drinking.
We have eaten at La Verona numerous times and have alway enjoyed our dining experience. We would recommend anyone to try this restaurant.
La. Verona is the best Italian around Sam and the crew are the best. You must eat there
Love this place. Food is always good, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Always a wonderful meal and experience.
As always, excellent food & service!! Prices are reasonable. Great atmosphere and right in the heart of Kennett Square!
One of our favorite places to dine. Menu varies, food and menu always fresh. Nice place to dine on date night or with friends
It was our first time dining with La Verona and it was very welcoming from the moment we walked in. We were 10 mins early for our reservation and were seated right away
The service was great. Not too pushy not too distant. We stayed roughly 1 hr 45 mins. Had a bottle of wine, some apps, main course, and dessert.
Our waitress was great. She recommended dishes, was friendly and just an all around nice person to have side conversations with when she came by.
Last but not least, the food was spectacular!! From the anti pasta, and roasted artichoke app, to the main courses and dessert, everything was authentic, great tasting and fresh! We would recommend this lovely Italian restaraunt to anyone for any occasion.
Great selection of classic italian choices
We always enjoy our visits to La Verona. The manager sat us at a lovely table for four in front of the fireplace. Our waiter Mike was terrific - witty, friendly, professional, efficient. Food was delicious - we ordered gnocchi, saltimbocca and the seafood & linguini special with a spicy sauce. Very good price for the quality & portions. Wine & drinks also quite good. After dinner we moved into the bar for drinks and to listen to the band, and Mike again waited on us. Very happy evening all around. We will be back again soon.
