Always amazing food. I love the creativity with the specials. The staff is always friendly. My favorite Italian restaurant in Reno.
The restaurant specializes in cuisine from Northern Italy. My experience would indicate they’re very good at any Italian cuisine. Fine wine selection, fine dining, and great service with great views of downtown Reno and the valley. The food is carefully selected and carefully prepared with a sense of one who loves to cook well!
I absolutely love this restaurant. In the summer the patio view is spectacular, but the inside is also wonderful. The food has never disappointed. I think it’s the best Italian food in Reno. The wait staff is always considerate and friendly. I highly recommend!
First time, and it was good. Limited selection other than pasta, but pasta is what I came for. New server, but good effort to keep us happy. Easy parking. Can sit outside (on not very comfortable chairs) and have a nice view.
Great food with a beautiful view, and excellent service from Marco and Javier. The coconut and tira misu gelatos are the best! Another wonderful lunch at LaVecchia.
A very beautiful Italian restaurant...good food and beautiful place
Portion of food was way too small, and it was cold. This Mexican bass had no distinct flavor. Disappointing unfortunately.
La veechia was my special go to place. I took 5 friends to share this hidden treat.. Well.. They must have changed their chef. Food was marginal. I was embarrassed because I had raved about how special this resturant was..even my wine had gone bad and smelled really bad..they did comp the glass of wine but only after my other table mates complained about how bad it smelled.. no body said anything about the food until I asked a day later..they All say it was not great but didnt want to hurt my feelings...
Although the dish was tasty, the plate was rather plain and empty looking. Adding some veggies to the entree meat and carb you ordered, rather than having to order the greens separately, would make all the difference and wouldn't be too costly.
Great food. Service distracted by larger parties.
As always, everything we had to eat was truly wonderful! This occasion was a gathering of family before a graduation. It was the Wednesday just before graduation and the restaurant was full! They also had a 2 hour limit in order to accommodate all those who wanted to dine that night.
Some family members had not been to LaVecchia before, and thought everything was excellent. They also said a return trip was a definite!
Thanks to all the staff for having a lovely surroundings and consistently good food.
Good Italian food. Love the grilled romaine lettuce with Gorgonzola and walnuts (a unique offering). Good wine list.
We had 5: 30 reservations, were greeted and seated at the #1 table, center of the North facing window looking towards N/NW Reno. We ordered wine and water and started the review of the menu. (which appears to have been typed on an old manual typewriter) I ordered the salmon and my wife ordered the veal piccata . Both were delicious and well prepared with a nice presentation. The room was busy, but was worked with professionalism.
Took my grandmother, my aunt and my wife out for Mothers day, for the second year in a row here. Loved it again. We all brought home "to go boxes" from our huge portions, saving room for the excellent gelato desserts that we could not resist. Everything was great, with easy access for my 87 year old grandma! This year we had a great view table looking over Reno. Nice.
Mother's Day brunch was a fun change and my friend and I enjoyed it a lot. We're looking forward to coming back soon.
Quite a terrific dinner! We started off with a caprese salad, and the sausage and lentil soup. Both of which were very delicious. We then ordered the cheese plate, which had one of our favorite cheeses, manchego. Our entrees were the spaghetti carbonara, pappardelle with duck confit, and the risotto with lamb shank. Each dish was prepared perfectly. We ended with the amaretto cheesecake, vanilla panna cotta, and gelato. Our server was very knowowdelable and asked us questions about any preferences. We will definitely return to La Vecchia the next time we are in Reno!
The food and welcome are always superb at la Vecchia. It is my 'go to' restaurant for all occasions. That it is in my neighborhood is an added bonus, but I'd gladly drive across town to enjoy Chef Alberto's cooking.
Based on my previous experience, I really looked forward to returning. The service was delightful, but the food was not. I was apologizing to a friend I had invited. Her salad was very good, but my fried eggplant was very mediocre. Her clams linguine did not make her happy, and neither did my "zuppa di pesce" have much flavor, though the scallops were tender.
The clams and shrimp were okay, but the broth was thin and tasteless. Big disappointment.
The restaurant did offer us a free dessert for my birthday. It was the tiramisu, which we shared and enjoyed.
I do not plan to return to La Vecchia, very sad to say. The atmosphere was enjoyable, but the food was not.
Awesome food and view. Our waiter was a bit flakey is the beat way to describe him though.
They were shorthanded and it showed on all fronts. Very noisy. Food was overall disappointing except for the spinach salad.
Amazing food every time. The wait staff is very knowledgeable, especially about the menu and presentation. Love the view! Amazing restaurant every time. I have to say in the top 3 I've been to.
All four of us loved our choices for dinner!
La Vecchia is a longtime local gem with very good to excellent food and generally good service (this visit included glacial speed service, but that's an anomaly), along with a lovely view of the city.
I love this place. It’s my neighborhood, walk to, restaurant. We had a lovely window side table where we could watch the sunset. Service was on point. Food delicious. I had the special which was a yummy cioppino full of mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops and fish. My husband had his regular favorite dish, papardelle with duck. One of things we talked about is how well they have succeeded in reducing the noise level with lots of sound panels. When La Vecchia first opened at this location it had the same problems as many restaurants... too loud for nice dining. Lots of restaurants pay no attention to the sound level. To me, a noisy restaurant disturbs my dining. I want dinner conversation with my companions without having to shout over all the other noise. La Vecchia fixed this problem early on. It is a lovely place for a quiet dinner with a date or a small group. The choice of sound panels was a great one I wish more restaurant would think about. Thanks La Vecchia for not only great food but lovely ambiance too.
We went for Ravioli night. Each of us had different ravioli and they were all quite good. My favorite is the pumpkin. For ravioli, salad and wine at $20, it’s a great deal.
Food was very well presented, unpretentious and wholesome. The ambiance was comfortable and inviting. The service staff was knowledgeable, friendly and prompt.
Excellent, as always. We enjoyed the National Ravioli Day with the fabulous signature house made pillows of comfort they always are.
LaVecchia has always been one of my favorite restaurants. Ravioli special Mondays and bring your own wine Tuesdays are a great value. The food is always amazing, and specials are always different and highlight different flavors. Also very good seasonal menu and fantastic wine list. I would recommend this restaurant for sure.
Excellent mushroom raviolis. Service was very good with attentive staff.
I think the best part was the incredible view of the snowfall outside while we ate. My ravioli was pretty good. My husband had the special, a filet, which was not as good as other places for the price.
Great spot with a beautiful view for date night. It's difficult to decide amongst the menu items - so many wonderful choices. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked and had buttery mashed potatoes on the side, and the carbonara was delicious. Tiramisu is worth saving room for. Service by Julio, Javier and Johnny is the best!
The service was good but my pasta was dry and just ok. I definitely expected better for the price. Maybe just an off night.
Perfect atmosphere - wonderful food - great waiter !
My husband and I went to La Vecchia to celebrate Valentine’s day! We really enjoyed our dinner. The food was very good and the panna cotta dessert was one of the best we have ever tried. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Thank you for a great experience!
Not enough to choose from on the menu
My husband & I enjoyed a Valentines dinner. We were seated in the bar, so our table was a bit cramped. However, that didn't take away from our enjoyment. The mushroom raviolis & sauce were marvelous! The drinks were great and the service was fun! It's always nice to have friendly waitpersons!
Food was awesome ! Service was excellent! This is my favorite place to eat !!
Amazing dinner! Beautiful view, delicious food and great service!
Our waiter was phenomenal! The food was outstanding. And the view was gorgeous, we were at the back table away from the window and it was still beautiful! Sea bass was excellent. We will be back❤️❤️❤️
We arrived and were seated right away. The service was wonderful, everyone had a smile and a good attitude. They have a good wine list by the bottle or glass. The food was good, not spectacular. We will go again.
