Service was slow. There are better places in Reno for Italian food.
Food and service were excellent, far superior to what one would expect from a neighborhood strip mall restaurant. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating area is starkly adjacent to parked cars and all the obnoxious noises they make. Perhaps the proprietors could add greenery to soften the area and buffer noises. We will come back for the delicious gnocchi and ravioli, and the excellent pacing of our 4-course meal.
It was my fiancé and I’s first time at La Vecchia and the experience was amazing! Delicious food and amazing customer service. Definitely went above and beyond! The seafood linguine is a must, very delicious.
Beautiful view of the city with the best ravioli in Reno. Great atmosphere, wonderful food, helpful staff.
Lovely restaurant with very attentive staff. My husband ordered the cheese plate and I had the spinach/pear salad for appetizers (both very good). For dinner I went with the spaghetti carbonara (it was done just right - the egg and cream melded together. It should not be alfredo sauce and it should not be scrambled eggs on the pasta - just sayin'). My husband had the meat ravioli (did not care for the meat sauce on it). I also tried a cocktail specialty, the Tuscan Sunset, and it was quite good.
Food is amazing! This is our go to place!! Friendly staff and great atmosphere!
I've loved LaVecchia for a number of years. Used to give it 5 stars. It's still good, but I've noticed some cutting of quality during pandemic. The house marinated olives used to be a wonderful, diverse selection of many sizes of olives. As a lover of good olives I ordered it every time. This time it was primarily a bunch of the smallest black olives I've ever seen. I won't order it again. The linguine with seafood was great, with lots of seafood. But the linguine wasn't linguine, just big fat spaghetti noodles. I'm hoping LaVecchia goes back to the quality I loved instead of cutting corners. We'll see.
GREAT spot- I’m a tough grader so I reserve 5 stars for something really outstanding.
This was terrific and even my vegan adult kids found something to eat!
Very attentive wait staff and dee-lish!
As always the meal and service were outstanding.
Our server was so wonderful and attentive! We had the filet and mushroom ravioli and they were both to die for. Definitely will be back!
Two of us ordered off the special selections and we felt the portions were a bit sparse. I guess we should have ordered an appetizer or a salad. One of us ordered pasta off the main menu and the portion was large. We saw several other orders on other tables near us and the portions appeared generous, so maybe it was just what we ordered. Food was good and service was just right.
Awesome view to go along with the delicious food and great service. This was our first time here and we will definitely go back!
We dine at LaVecchia frequently, and it has always been a positive experience! The staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the food. The food is consistently served hot and delicious. We especially love their eggplant mellazane ,the pasta dishes (rigatoni norma and linguini seafood) as well as any of the veal entrees. We would also recommend any of the salads, and creamy polenta as a side. You can't get a better value for the price! We love LaVecchia!!!
Excellent! Great food and service!
Outstanding Italian restaurant
My partner and I celebrated an occasion here and the service was fantastic! They even gave us a free tiramisu and wrote "congrats" on the plate to make the occasion even more special!
We have been meaning to try LeVecchia for some time now after seeing it while we dined at Skyline. Drove 35 minutes to LeVecchia. I had chicken parm ($21), dry, zero flavor on chicken and diced tomatoes (no sauce of any sort), Wife had linguine seafood dish ($24), broth was OK, seafood seemed fresh. Mother in law had the salmon with spinach ($24). It was just ok. Drinks are pricey ($9.00) for a titos and water. $3 upcharge for a martini. $154 later, the food was not nearly worth the value. If in that area again, we will just go to Skyline. We will continue to support our local Pietror's in Sparks where the food is much better than LeVacchia. I'd be surprised if LeVecchia is even cooked by italians.
We had a wonderful time! The food, service and overall experience was great. La Vecchia is a gem in Reno.
Nice place, good food, good wine list, excellent service!
Always delicious authentic Italian fare, excellent wait staff, and beautiful views of Reno.
We eat here quite often and the service is always perfect. But this time it was extremely slow. It will be a while before we go back.
The only thing I did not like is being told how long we get the table for. I totally understand with less tables and all but I felt rushed. We usually have a full 4 course meal but couldn’t do that the hostess keep coming over and looking when our 90 minutes was up and we were having coffee and desert. Food and service was fantastic, just felt rushed.
Food is always excellent and the service attentive. Our favorite spot in Reno.
Overall excellent food and service. The special swordfish was cooked perfectly and was very fresh. Even though not on the menu, the chef made me a shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. Good drinks and wine list
Promptly sat with reservation on a busy Saturday evening. Great environment moderate noise level. Approachable wine list with a decent variety. Exciting and diverse menu.
2 of us chose 1 of the 4 chefs daily specials and were not disappointed, full of flavor and a delight to eat! The others chose menu staples and were quite impressed.
La Vecchia always delivers and we will continue to dine here.
Julio is an excellent server! He always makes us feel welcome and takes a very good care of us.
Great everything/ They even split a bowl of their yummy french onion soup for us and didn't charge to split. Lovely view on the hill overlooking the city.
seated at table between two stacks of upside down chairs (covid)
usually quite good (have been there number of times)
No more HOLIDAYS
My new favorite place! The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. What a great view of Reno also! Perfect place to go for a romantic date night
The food was good. Decent portions and great flavor. Server was friendly, provided good service and great suggestions. If you get one of the window tables you can get a good view of nighttime Reno.
Delicious food and wonderful service. Very Covid compliant
We all decided to eat at La Vecchia for my birthday. I have been there before but not in a long, long time. I had invited two good friends that are picky Italian eaters so I was hoping the food had not changed from the last time I was there. It hadn't! It was actually better. Lou and Misha are the picky Italian eaters. Misha had the linguine and clams and Lou had the veal. They both said the dinner was very delicious and would eat there again. I had the Chilean sea bass, made perfectly.
The service was excellent. I will be going back for sure!
Service was good. Place is always a little dark but that makes the ambiance
Nice bar with nice of you. Good happy hour selection for food and discounts on bottles of wine. Great tiramisu
The food was fantastic!. The service was excellent and the 1/2 bottle of wine selection was good.
Definitely will go back when in Reno.
Food was excellent as always!!
Great food, quite atmosphere, awesome.
Took the family here for a quiet dinner out. Food and service was amazing and the view of Reno! Top notch. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
Too noisy with the loud and screaming kids.... They should be separated from the general public.... People dine out for good food and relaxing ambient. The ambient was Fminus.
