La Vecchia Cucina Ratings and Reviews
We chose this restaurant for a meeting of friends who had not seen each other for a number of years. It was recommended to us by local residents. Unfortunately, it was extremely noisy so the evening was not up to expectation since conversation was our primary interest. The food was OK but not outstanding; however, the service was very good to excellent.
Best Italian restaurant in all of Los Angeles. The tri-colore salad is excellent as is the burrata with tomatoes and basil. All of their appetizers are delicious. The rigatoni bolognese is beyond outstanding. My friend loved the linguini alla puttenesca. The bottom line is, you can not go wrong with anything you order at La Vecchia. It's hard to stop eating, but definitely save room for their fabulous desserts.
What a wonderful Valentine dinner. My husband and I have been to La Vecchia before, but this time was extra special. From the greeting by the host when we arrived, to the farewell when we left, everything was perfect! The food and service were both amazing! The Caesar salad had great flavor. Both our entrees were tasty and were just the right portions (unlike some local restaurants where you leave hungry). The desserts were incredible. And, to top it all off, we couldn't have asked for better service. The restaurant is extremely well run with the manager being very hands on and watching everything like a hawk to ensure that all the guests' experiences were wonderful. We will definitely return soon!
As soon as the waiter had more than 2 tables, he ignored us and we had to ask for everything. He knew it was a birthday and with the check he brought us a small dish of whipped cream with a candle! Really, just plain whipped cream ??!?No dessert would have been better!
Most of the food was good except for the chopped salad as the dressing was quite salty.
Our "Go To" restaurant for Italian comfort food in a genial environment. Consistently delicious with high-quality ingredients, La Vecchia is one my top choice restaurants in the Los Angeles region. The casual elegant environment is perfect for every occasion.
I ordered the tuna carpaccio which was not really fresh and I could not eat it. The green salad that came with it was too acidic. The ossobuco, however, was nice and tender served on a bed of rice and vegetables. The atmosphere is very lively and the staff are attentive and polite. I think the quality of the food is not up to the highest standards and could be improved.
This was our first time at La Vecchia Cucina. What a gem! From the message left to confirm the reservation to the greeting by the host, to our server, Guy and the runners to the personal hello from the chef, the evening was perfect! I so appreciated the voice mail confirming the reservation DID NOT ask me to call back to confirm! The restaurant was crowded and noisy, but the feel was warm and welcoming. Our server was pleasant, personable, knowedgable and honest about his opinions. The food was plentiful and superb! We can't wait to go back!
Another spectacular meal, all ordered off of the specials menu.We started with the scallops Crudo (can’t remember exact name) next course lobster ravioli, third course halibut. Each course was hands-down the best we have ever had, anywhere ever! Also tried the special boysenberry infused bourbon cocktail which was so festive and deliciously refreshing. Hats off to Chef and The entire team For another wonderful evening, we could not think of a better way to end 2017! Thank you and see you again soon!!
Admittingly, there were slammed..A full house on a Sat eve...slow, slow service was one thing, but the four top across from the bar at the Window on a cold night... OMG..Honestly, my fault, should have called their attention to it OR we should have left..Food however, top notch..Sangria terrific... What can you do! There will be another meal another day....
Loved the food and the service, but even though we got there relatively early, it was so loud by 7:30 I could barely hear my companions across the table from us.
Though I give the food and service high marks, this is not an easy place to hold a conversation in.
