Outstanding restaurant. I'm very proud of them for being one of the first high-end restaurants in Vail to open up for the summer. Great service. Awesome food. Outside dining was perfect on a perfect night!
Terrible food and service.
Wonderful food & Service!
Has always been and still is the BEST restaurant in Vail.
Great menu and great service.
Very slightly hampered by obnoxious lady at adjacent table who was appropriately dealt with by the manager.
The food was delicious but pricey and low in quantity. The service was horrendous from the start. The waiter ,Bogdan, was very short with us and somewhat rude. Never seemed to be on his game from the start. When the bill came I was overcharged for the bottle of wine and after having to get up and find him and it was corrected, never once he’s d from a manager to apologize. The only person that asked about the experience was the front hostess. Not worth the money spent for dinner.
One of my all time favorites. There a vegan maitake mushroom dish that's one of the best. I had the black cod and can't wait to go back for more.
Another wonderfully romantic and absolutely delicious experience at La Tour! Each course was more delicious than the last and a real treat for the taste buds!
Excellent food and great drinks!
On the night we were there, not a premier Vail dining experience...much much too loud...inattentive service...food ok but not outstanding...wine list basically starts at about $70 and up up up from there...bratwurst/sauerkraut for 2 at Pepi’s for $50 much better value, and much more pleasant, than $200 for two at La Tour....we’ve been going to Vail for 30 years...La Tour slipping from its former pinnacle...Sweet Basil a better choice for a high end dinner....
Food and Service was excellent.
Music was too loud. Also think it would help if a sign was posted asking patrons to speak at a conversational level.
Got a little noisy with the only a few people in the house.
Service was So much better than when we were there Feb 2nd. Couple at a table across from us-were listening to a Utube video quite loud. So rude but our waiter told them No Way. People use manners!!!!
The wait staff seemed chaotic. It took a long time to get drinks bc they didn’t have the bottle of wine I chose. They did however charge the same price for the bottle I wanted as opposed to the bottle I got which was slightly more expensive. The food was good
Amazing appetizers salad and champagne - didn't even get to the main course!
The menu is a bit trapped in the 80’s. It is also not terribly French. Lots of high food presentations. Steak was grisly for a strip. Individual sides double as treatments for whole dishes, which is not terribly imaginative. Prices are high for the execution. Good wine list and desserts.
If you are a fan of oysters, try the hibachi BBQ ones! The beet salad is also excellent. The atmosphere is pretty good, but we were seated in a high traffic area, which wasn’t ideal. All in all, a fine dining experience.
Birthday. Lovely time. Try the CBD infused cocktails!
The servers were terrific, the wait for our 7:30 reservation was 45 min late..
And we were placed in a very unattractive area, which had no semblance to a cultured environment.
Our waiter and hostess was apologetic, but nonetheless it was less than wonderful food experience despite the gratuitous nature of our wonderful waiter.
Only problem was that we made reservations for dinner at 7:30. We were not seated until
8:05 pm. Seems long when one has reservations does it not. The bar, wait staff and food were excellent as always. I have always found it better to under promise and over deliver. Perhaps this was a one off? Was it or do you have there issues often? I will dine at La Tour again but this was disappointing. Hopefully you will get guests seated within 15 minutes in the future. Good luck
A great restaurant had an off night? We have always loved dining here. The beet salad was amazing as always. The Rhone wine by the glass was superb but I was disappointed after they ran out after my first glass. The server added about a third of a glass to my glass until the last bottle ran out. He said he would not charge me but a second glass charge appeared on the bill.
My main disappointment was in my entree, the filet of sole. I had ordered it a year ago and was amazed at one of the best fish dishes I have ever eaten. This year the breaded sole was soggy and heavy, Long John Silver style but at $54 dollars.
I will try La Tour again but I will not order the sole without a soul.
Service was terribly slow! It took 45 minutos for the first course to be served. After it was served it took another 45 minutes for the entree to be brought, and when it came they were cold. Servers were rude and did not care about anything. When asked about one side dishes they commented they were out of it, after having to wait for it 45 minutes!
The whole meal took about 3 hours! And at the end the check was wrong! Not even the manager seemed to care about service or the time it took. Waiters did not care and mentioned it was not their fault the kitchen was slow. There wasn’t even bread served on the table.
The service and food did not merit the price.
I would never recommend it to anyone.
Dinner with Frinds
Loved the small plates. The scallop was delicious!!
Salads were great
Everyone enjoyed their meal and they were presented so beautifully
I am still dreaming about the vanilla vodka drink that was on the menu need to get the recipe it was that good
Everyone but the Sommelier was tense and the wait staff made me feel rushed.
The food was superb as always. No one can ever be disappointed or complain about the food at La Tour. If they do, then they are the one exception to the rule and not the norm. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone that enjoys fine dining and has a well developed palate.
After multiple calls and emails from the restaurant to confirm my reservation - including a requirement that I sign a contract w/ credit card information agreeing to a charge of $65/person if I failed to cancel or arrive within 15 minutes of my reservation I was met by an aggressive and unapologetic hostess that informed me they were running 20 minutes behind. We were falsely promised that people would bring a complimentary glass of champagne while we waited and 20 minutes turned into 30 minutes. Couples enduring a similarly frustrating experience exchanged sympathetic looks and some shared their disappointment with us as we waited and as we dined when the comedy of errors continued. After waiting more than 60 minutes for our entrees my friend received the wrong entree. He was told that some complimentary soup would arrive while he waited for his meal - another promise that failed to materialize. It was an upsetting evening that only improved when I stopped caring and excepted this as a failed dining experience.
Securing a reservation in this restaurant required emails back and forward and a credit card to secure the booking. I understand this happens in busy restaurants but one hopes that when you get there you will be well looked after...
Our reservation was for 7.30. We were corralled standing in the lobby area along with a lot of other diners for half an hour until 8pm and given a glass of Prosecco for our trouble.
When we got our table, we ordered our food and wine. We had already finished our starters by the time the wine arrived. The wine here is not cheap so it would have been nice to have enjoyed it with our starters...
We were at last enjoying a glass of wine when one of the restaurant managers came to us and asked us to shift tables! It was done in such a way that made us feel like we had no option. It was to accommodate a table of 4 coming in. I’ve eaten in hundreds of restaurants before but NEVER have I been asked to shift tables mid meal to facilitate a restaurant cramming more people in.
Our main courses arrived and I have a particular food allergy. This was made clear at the outset of ordering. I tasted one of the side dishes and it appeared that the kitchen had added my allergen to the dish! The dish was removed but by this stage our evening was in tatters. I couldn’t eat any more of my meal as I was starting to feel ill and therefore I asked to see the manager. I had to locate the manager myself when he didn’t appear and outlined the dreadful experience we had had that evening. It transpired that a friend had paid for our evening out so we owed nothing ( or a small balance which the manager waived). It was a disastrous evening on what should have been a lovely Valentine’s Day treat. The restaurant should not have charged us anything for such a series of issues.
If you are in Vail, I really wouldn’t bother going here.
We arrived early, had a drink in the bar, were then seated in the front bright section with many children!!!, this after booking 2months in advance for our 33rd wedding anniversary on Valentine’s day. We were then moved to the main section, we had a minuscule portion of fois gras for starters, my 1 scallop and lobster tail and spinach for my main was delicious but my husbands very dry off the bone dover sole, served on 2 cut in half boiled potatoes, with undercooked green beans on top - what an absolute disappointment for their signature dish! The only plus was great service.
Always excellent food ,service and ambience. We always return every time we are in Vail. Don’t miss this excellent restaurant!!
The tables are very close together, it was very hot in the restaurant and the staff looked confused at times.
The food was inventive and very good. The wine list was notable.
We eat there every year for 50 years. It still is our favorite restaurant in Vail. Larry
Excellent presentation of my favorite seafood! Made great celebration dinner.
Excellent except for drink price. Outrageous to charge $18 for half-size martini when there’s no “secret sauce” to martinis. Spoils the experience. Shame on you.
Our dinner was delicious, service was very good. We did not like that the tables are very close together and if the server takes care of your neighbors you have his backside in your face. The acoustics are challenging, everyone talks louder and louder to be heard. We had the Alaskan Cod as an entree, it was fabulous, but for $48 we would expected a bit more on the plate and more varied sides (boiled potatoes don't really do it for me, though there also was some asparagus and a scoop of seaweed salad). Prices for everything on the menu are up there. What was really great was the Dessert Trio, Madeleines, truffles and a mini creme brulee. La Tour is a great spot for dinner if you don't mind the prices and the noise.
Amazing service and food! Would definitely recommend
We love this restaurant and never miss the opportunity to dine here!
Our waiter Stephan was exceptional. The escargot were delightful. The bread service is not worth the money. My husband and I both had fish, cod and sole. Both were good, neither were memorable. Though the menu and name reminds you of a French restaurant, it borders on Italian undertones with the use of manchego and some other menu items. The food was all good, but nothing was exceptional. Definitely a try.
