La Toscana Ristorante
I THOUGHT THE FOOD WAS GOOD. I WOULD HAVE PICKED ANOTHER SAUCE OTHER THAN BUTTER AND SAGE FOR THE BEEF/PORK TORDELLI SPECIAL. THE SAUCE WAS TOO OILY. MAYBE A MEAT SAUCE WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. THANKS FOR THE EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE AS ALWAYS!
Excellent food - superior service. Great atmosphere and welcoming. Our go to whenever we have friends or customers in town.
Always an enjoyable experience. The food is consistently good and the service friendly. Our neighborhood place!
The food was good, but not exceptional. Sauce for the carbonara and tortellini were obviously the same. The filling for the cannelloni needs work. The lasagne was good; the bread the restaurant failed to fulfill that request. We had to move chairs around ourselves, as there was no one to help us do that. The young woman checking guests in was dressed like she was going to Coachella. Perhaps they could provide her with a uniform, one that fits in with the atmosphere of the place?
We had a wonderful lunch and the food and service was fabulous! Ambiance is fun and our group will definitely go again!!
The menu has something for everyone, and the specials are varied and also delicious. The homemade Ravioli with brown butter sage sauce is so good I would order it every time I go if it is available. They have a large selection of wines by the glass although by the bottle at a reasonable price point, is thin.
It gets really loud here, so if you have hearing issues keep that in mind.
Food was excellent, as was the service and the drinks. The ambience was terrible; bench seating against the wall and in the corners. The person facing the wall has his or her back to the restaurant. No table cloths.
7 loud old ladies for lunch with a lot of birthday decor for the table - many requests for photos by wait staff / were made to feel very welcome!
La Toscana is our go to restaurant. It is a neighborhood place, family owned and operated. The food is always wonderful. There are great selections on the menu and specials every day. If you want something special - they usually can accommodate you. We have a waiter who has served us for years - Sergio. We always asked for him and he never disappoints.
Dry, tasteless meatballs and a very strange-looking and bad-tasting melanzane with way too much cheese. No Italian restaurant should ever have bad meatballs, and equally as bad, soggy, overcooked vegetables in 2019 California is ridiculous! Don't go!
Great food without a lot of pretension. Pleasant atmosphere and service. The Papardelle is superb, as is the cannelloni. The Frito misto is so light and airy, it almost floats. The desserts are ok, nothing to write home about. Overall, La Toscana is consistently delicious with very decent service.
We love La Tascana Restorante. The food is always very very good and fresh. The service is always excellent. Everyone there is friendly and the service is excellent. Love the menu and bar menu as well.
We had a great time catching up. Other than a mixup in our check and our agitated server (because we pointed out the check mistake) the dinner was perfect.
As usual, our dining experience was very good. We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary.
We sat in the bar area during Happy Hour. Great drink deals as well as many great food choices. We had a couple of HH appetizers, Bar Antipasto, Eggplant, Arancini! All were delicious! We also ordered off the regular menu for our dinner. We had the Shrimp Toscana. Delicious!!! This place has the hardest working staff in Marin. They are all so pleasant! We LOVE La Toscana!
We enjoyed the food so much that we ate twice at Toscana during our five day stay in the area. Best lasagna I have ever eaten.
Great food and service!
This is just a solid, wonderful family-owned restaurant. I brought my family there to celebrate a graduation, and everyone RAVED about their delicious meals. The ambiance is fun without being too loud, upbeat, friendly service - and CLASSIC traditional Italian food that pleased everyone at our table. Delicious Fritto Misto - not at all greasy and really fresh ingredients! Enjoy!
A neighborhood favorite for years...consistently good!
Great food. Going back tonight. The service was also very good.
Easy and comfortable place and good food , old style italian ristorante!
It was a very nice dinner.
I met someone here for lunch. It was one of those kind of places that you came away from pleasantly surprised. The service was amazing. The food was excellent!
Always fun visiting La Toscana. Consistent fine quality food and great friendly atmosphere
Consistently good! 👍
Food and service was decent but I would not recommend to a friend.
Great neighborhood place. Family owned. Wonderful atmosphere, great food and service. Perfect for lunch or dinner. Easy parking.
The service and food are consistently excellent. The servers’ hospitality is genuine and authentic, and the food is cooked perfectly with attention to special requests.
We were just passing through but enjoyed their hospitality. Excellent barrel aged Manhattan. All of the food was delicious but especially liked the Petrale Sole with Lemon risotto.
There's a reason La Toscana is considered a classic: because quality and value never go out of style. La Toscana is old school in the same way that Oxford University is old school. If you get a chance to go to either, you ought to.
Had a nice relaxing dinner with family. Food was great. What more can I say?
This neighborhood gem has terrific food and a great atmosphere. We celebrated my husband's 82nd
birthday there. The restaurant gave him a complimentary dessert, which was a very nice touch.
Had not eaten there for a few years. Pleasantly surprised that the quality of the luncheon food and service was terrific. The mussels and clams in a delicious broth were wonderful, as was they Frito Misto with a pleasant mixture of artichoke hearts, shrimp and Calamari, accompanied by a tasty aioli. My guest enjoyed his fresh greens salad which was seasoned perfectly. The daily special was a ravioli dish with a white sauce that he thoroughly enjoyed. Service was outstanding, ensuring ample french bread, water and beverages. Will return for dinner.
Third visit to La Toscana. Food is very good, extensive Italian menu. The Service was excellent. We would recommend it to friends and we will return
Delicious! Staff were all super friendly and helpful. It was loud when we first arrived, but we didn’t let that get in our way. Will definitely be back!
The service was efficient / good, but the food was below average. I had an arugula salad that was nice enough (hard to go wrong) but my main dish -- a sole piccata had too much of the sauce and the sauce was flavorless, which I've never experienced with a piccata sauce before. The broccoli side was also overcooked. Just kind of a "meh" experience from a taste perspective. Wouldn't go back.
La Toscana is our “go to” Italian restaurant. Food is always excellent. I usually get a pasta dish. This time, for the first time, I got chicken Marsala with polenta and veggies. It was fabulous. My new favorite!
It's been a while since we've been there as the last couple of times, we couldn't get in when we tried - waited too long to make a reservation. We were very pleased with the "new" decor. It is very nice and much more open looking and lighter. The food was very good, except the vegetables were overcooked for us. We had the osso buco, short ribs, chicken parmesan and cannelloni. All of them were quite good and as expected. We had several salads and they were all delicious, but we really wish that restaurants, in general, would move away from the giant salads they have all gone to and back to a smaller, side salad.
We were first times diners at La Toscana but we will go back again!
Out of town guests lived it.
