This is an stylish, modern eatery in the Napa Westin Hotel. The dishes were all visually delightful, and service was friendly and attentive. The chick pea ravioli with mushroom broth was truly amazing. The nilghai antelope main course was overwhelmed by a stinky cheese component of the potato side dish which ruined the dish for me; it should carry a warning. The desserts were just OK, though the post-dessert extras that came with the check were wonderful. Overall, very good, but only one dish really amazed; at these prices they all should.

Outstanding service and food. The location/ambiance is minus one star only because its location in a hotel (threw me off a little bit). Worth every penny

This was our second visit in the last three months. It was just as good this time as last. It clearly qualifies as one of the vary best restaurants in the Napa region but is right up there also with the best that San Franciso has to offer. Considering the extremely high quality of the food, it can also be considered a great value at $74 for four courses.

My husband and I have been to La Toque many times at their old location and always loved their food, service and atmosphere. This was our first time at their new location in the Westin. We were very disappointed. The atmosphere was sterile, and it just didn't have the same vibe. The old La Toque was warm and charming...the new La Toque is just another restaurant. The food wasn't as good either.

A first time experience in an american michelin star restaurant. Tastes in Europe are more subtle and personally I don't like the quantity of salt that is used, too much.
On the other site service is excellent and the whole experience was worth every penny.

While I really wanted this to be one of those magical dinners with extraordinary food and wine, it didn't quite make it. The best food was the Amuse, which was a taste treat and a half. The rest was very good but none rose to thje level of great. Wine pairings were good but seemed a bit expensive for what was poured. Overall we liked it, but didn't feel it really delivered for what was charged.

We decided on this restaurant because of the fine food reviews & the extensive wine list. Both of these areas did not disappoint and the sommelier was both informative & discreet & in addition quite a character! There were a few very minor wobbles with the service, but they quickly corrected these & the staff were clearly intent on making the experience memorable. I understand why people are put off by the location - to us from the Uk, the hotel, while excellent inside, is on a main road & it's hard to imagine a restaurant of this type lurking inside! La Toque would work for those wanting to impress clients as well as those seeking a romantic dinner - the tables are well spaced & the fireplace makes an otherwise sterile decor more cosy.

My husband and I ordered the 3 course menu with the wine pairings and we were both very disappointed with the wine selections. We frequent San Francisco and most always get the chefs menu with the pairings and we are always more than satisfied. It is a fun way to try new wines. Yet, the wines did nothing to enhance the food at La Toque and we were quite unhappy. The food was average. We expectd more. Will not return and would not recommend. They also typed in our credit card number incorrectly which led us to call the company ourselves and get our card approved. The waitress denied that she had mistyped the numbers. Very embarrassing and rude.

Very good food! We both had and enjoyed the bass over lobster orzo. We also loved the desserts, the opera's more solid tiramisu and thick chocolate layers were rich and deeply sweet. The crepe was fluffy and punctuated nicely by nibbles of the frozen berries.

Nice job.

Wanted to love it but didn't. Food was disappointing -- good but not great. Dish called sauteed sweetbreads tasted more like a chicken croquette. Lobster salad tasted more strongly of butternut squash cubes.

La Toque was recommended by the Candelight Inn where we stayed and seemed fitting for our 5th Wedding Anniversary. We were seated at a romantic table next to the fireplace. The wait staff and sommelier were very attentive but not intrusive. We both ordered the 3 item choices with wine pairings. The 1st courses of carpaccio and warm lobster salad were excellence. My 2nd course of black cod was equally as good but the white bean raviloi my wife had was dominated by the mushroom flavor. We both had the Angus ribeye main course which was excellent. For dessert, we shared the opera cake and vanilla crepes, both rich and satisfying. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and provided both wine background and reasons for choice with the dish.

Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Wine parings were interesting and accurate (especially enjoyed the Kapcsandy Rose and Ladera Howell Mountain Cab). Rolland was friendly and helpful. Food was disappointing. Items were generally underseasoned and unexciting. Carpaccio was bland. Cod was well-prepared but lacked personality. Ribeye was also low on flavor and not as tender as anticipated. Would have appreciated bolder seasoning or at least salt and pepper on the table.

From the moment I was seated (table of 1) until departing... the service and ambiance was perfection. Sophisticated, modern and substantial without being off putting or uninviting. Pairings were SUPERB and the food PHENOMENAL! I was so thankful that I decided to treat myself on this last evening of business meetings in the area. The four course w/ dessert options were all truly perfect.

We had been to La Toque some time ago when it was in Rutherford, so we thought it would be exciting to try again. It was anything but exciting. The food was good but nothing outstanding and many of the dishes lacked flavor. Our service was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was nice, but not too special. Unfortunately, it was the food which let us down. So wishes we had just kept our memories from Rutherford.

The truffle menu was excellent and the wine pairings were perfect. The table faced the fireplace, which made us feel we were alone, even though he restaurant was crowded. The only downside were the jerks at the table next to us that were making our server's evening painful. W felt bad for her but the restaurant handled it very well by having the manager take over

This was our first time dining at La Toque. It is often hard to find good vegetarian options but with the pre fix vegetarian tasting menus this was easy! Each dish was wonderful, the artichoke soup delicious, the trumpet mushroom course crisp and just right, and the pasta al dente with subtle flavors. The server was very good about making substitutions due to certain food allergies. We chose wines by the glass and found exceptional california whites and reds to go with our meal. We plan on going back this year and including friends this time.

I understand Chef Ken is a celebrated cullinary individual and is supposed to be a wonder with truffles. I, however, found the truffle menu to be lacking. The flavors were not there for the amuse and the first three courses. I mean there were some highlights like the califlower puree and the broth in the third dish. The final savory course was the best with the truffles really coming out in the potatoes and the sauce. I order the pot de creme with truffles as my final dish. The truffles really came out in the best dish of the menu. Something should also be said for the wait staff who lacked personality and friendliness. Sometimes they did not even bother telling me what I was eating. All said, for a $200 meal for myself, I would not go back

Cozy, unpretentious, excellent service, phenomenal food and wine. Loved the option of 3-4 savory dishes plus a dessert for a set price. I opted for the wine pairing at the last minute and it exceeded my expectations. The chef and sommelier took us on a great adventure and we discovered 2 wines that we can't wait to purchase and drink again. Wasn't blown away by the desserts (chocolate tart and cake)- too sweet and too much.

We were very disappointed by our dining experince. It was the first time we ate at this location, our preference being the intimacy and warmth of the old place. Service was adequate, but again not the previous level of interest, responsiveness, or information
Our food was good, not great. All inventive and tasty but often felt there was too much going on in each course so that paired wines couldn't do their job adequately. We will hold to memories of prior La Toque meals and leave it at that, unless we hear of a positive change

We have been to La Toque several times before and loved it. This time, while the food was for the most part quite good (particularly the less complex selections) the “wow” factor on the palate was absent. One dish was a complete miss and several others had elements that did not work. The wine pairings were excellent. We had an enjoyable evening but left feeling a little let down compared to our past experiences.

The food was wonderful but the wines paired with each course were not memorable at all. In fact, I would not buy any of them.

Also, four courses is too much food. I would not go back for that reason alone.
