La Tavola Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
As many times as we have dined at LaTavola over the past 9 years, it never fails to impress. We dine out often and while having other restaurants we enjoy, frequently there is only 1 item on the menu we would choose. At LaTavola it is always difficult to decide since 95% of the offerings are favorites. Squid ink, mushroom tagliolini, veal saltimbocca, chartucerie, salads, seasonal entrees, desserts, you name it, better than you will get anywhere.
Service is without peer. We got to know many servers over the years and Erica has taken over as our current favorite. We were celebrating and she and management saw to it that the evening was extra special.
I have mentioned in previous reviews that it always feels like we are in New York, Boston, or San Francisco when dining at LaTavola. The ambiance, background music, and family atmosphere is like dining at your favorite relatives home. Can't wait to return.
Met a Fraternity Brother that is suburban-centric. Two native Pennsylvanians that know exceptionsl Italian when we find it were delighted with the superior quality but the knowledge of the staff. Excellent abiance and worthy of Zagat adn Michelin's Top Rating. Bravo La Tavola
My husband and I have been going to La Tavola together since 2005. We now live in East Cobb but keep La Tavola in mind for special occasions. The last 3 times we've been there it just hasn't been the same. The GM who was there for a long time knew us, or recognized us each visit, and was friendly with all of the guests. It helped make the place feel special. This was not the experience Saturday. Our go-to in the past has always been the pasta special of the night. La Tavola doesn't seem to be doing that anymore. The mushroom ragu has changed. The broccoli rabe was bitter. We have had the same servers for years, and Saturday our server had been there for 6 months and wasn't enthusiastic about the food or restaurant. Also, the 3 2-tops in the front of the restaurant are awful. I think that seating is new, we've never sat there in the 12 years we've been going, but it's a terrible experience. This was our favorite restaurant for such a long time, so we gave it 3 more attempts, but it's lost its luster.
La Tavola is one of our go-tos for great Italian food and service on a date night (try Molto Mondays!) or with visiting family. It would also be a good choice for business dinners. The house-made pasta is always a hit—love that you can get app sizes!—and the calamari is always creative and never chewy. It's a small restaurant—part of its charm—and rightly popular, so be sure to reserve well ahead. Valet parking across the street at the bank is what we typically do, or you can try the lot around back of the strip.
This was my first time at La Tavola and I will definitely go back. The food was so tasty and unique -- highly recommend the tagliatelle bolognese with beef/pork/veal ragu. Our server was very friendly and very knowledgeable with the both the food and drink menus. My only complaint is the noise we experienced. We ate on the heated patio which started out beautifully. Turns out La Tavola shares the patio with a neighboring restaurant who had a band playing. Every time the door of that restaurant/bar opened, we heard blaring music which overpowered the ambient music La Tavola was playing. Other than the two musics playing, I have no complaints, and like I said, I'll definitely come back.
We are frequent diners at La Tavola as it is consistently good and always delivers quality food and drink. This visit we had some minor issues that were resolved efficiently and professionally. If you are seeking a romantic, neighborhood restaurant that delivers high quality, creative food do not hesitate to try La Tavola.
Outstanding meal in a charming bistro style intimate restaurant. The food was off the charts. I am still thinking about my Tagoliolini with mushroom ragu and truffle oil--somehow rich and creamy without a heavy cream sauce. We had to order a second order of the apple cake with the hint of rosemary as it went so quickly as a share! The service is fantastic--they make you feel like you are at home and totally taken care of, and they know the menu and wine list for great guidance. I wish I could eat there every weekend but we were coming from out of town!
The pork milanese was perfection. The apple cake was the best I've ever had. Normally I dont comment on coffee but it was also exceptional. You just can't get a better Italian Sunday brunch experience in Atlanta. It seemed like a very high end Vegas Strip restaurant.
My boyfriend and I decided to go here to celebrate our anniversary. I noted that on the reservation and our waitress (Crystal) showed up with 2 glasses of complimentary champagne to start - so nice! She was very friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. She even gave us a to go complimentary dessert because of our anniversary. It was my boyfriend's first time dining there and we will definitely be back! Wonderful service and wonderful food!
We enjoyed every bite! The grilled calamari was perfect, the pork cheek delectable. The appetizer portions of pasta were delicious and not too small. The duck was pink and perfect, and the monkfish was superb. We finished with the spiced apple cake which, with the hint of rosemary, was entirely unexpected.
