La Tavola Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
This was my first time at La Tavola and I will definitely go back. The food was so tasty and unique -- highly recommend the tagliatelle bolognese with beef/pork/veal ragu. Our server was very friendly and very knowledgeable with the both the food and drink menus. My only complaint is the noise we experienced. We ate on the heated patio which started out beautifully. Turns out La Tavola shares the patio with a neighboring restaurant who had a band playing. Every time the door of that restaurant/bar opened, we heard blaring music which overpowered the ambient music La Tavola was playing. Other than the two musics playing, I have no complaints, and like I said, I'll definitely come back.
We are frequent diners at La Tavola as it is consistently good and always delivers quality food and drink. This visit we had some minor issues that were resolved efficiently and professionally. If you are seeking a romantic, neighborhood restaurant that delivers high quality, creative food do not hesitate to try La Tavola.
Outstanding meal in a charming bistro style intimate restaurant. The food was off the charts. I am still thinking about my Tagoliolini with mushroom ragu and truffle oil--somehow rich and creamy without a heavy cream sauce. We had to order a second order of the apple cake with the hint of rosemary as it went so quickly as a share! The service is fantastic--they make you feel like you are at home and totally taken care of, and they know the menu and wine list for great guidance. I wish I could eat there every weekend but we were coming from out of town!
The pork milanese was perfection. The apple cake was the best I've ever had. Normally I dont comment on coffee but it was also exceptional. You just can't get a better Italian Sunday brunch experience in Atlanta. It seemed like a very high end Vegas Strip restaurant.
My boyfriend and I decided to go here to celebrate our anniversary. I noted that on the reservation and our waitress (Crystal) showed up with 2 glasses of complimentary champagne to start - so nice! She was very friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. She even gave us a to go complimentary dessert because of our anniversary. It was my boyfriend's first time dining there and we will definitely be back! Wonderful service and wonderful food!
We enjoyed every bite! The grilled calamari was perfect, the pork cheek delectable. The appetizer portions of pasta were delicious and not too small. The duck was pink and perfect, and the monkfish was superb. We finished with the spiced apple cake which, with the hint of rosemary, was entirely unexpected.
La Tavola is an excellent restaurant. Consistently, the service, atmosphere and food are always worth coming back for. The staff is attentive, and the menu changes periodically, allowing one to try some new items or to go back to a tried and true favorite. This place has never disappointed me.
What a mess. Waited 20 minutes for a glass of wine to pair with our main course. While the dishes sounded exciting on the menu, the kitchen couldn't execute them. We're done giving this neighborhood spot a chance. It's not even pleasant to be there with the tables crammed so close together that we were bumped multiple times by waiters. You could taste the inferiority of ingredients too: soggy truffles, waterlogged monkfish....such a shame.
Cute restaurant but tight seating and very limited menu. I am a non dairy non meat eater and there was only ONE item I could eat (chicken) on the menu and they ran out at 7PM on Wednesday. The chef wouldn't amend any meal to remove dairy . FINALLY the manager got the chef to do so on a pasta so I didn't have to leave. The meal that came was good, but I wouldn't go back.
This was our first time dining here as we are from the DC area. Our waiter (Will) made our anniversary dinner very special. We decided to have three different pasta entrees to share. All were amazing, but the squid ink pasta with calamari in a Thai basil pesto...yum!! Thank you for the tiramisu at the end of the meal which was easily the best tiramisu we have ever had! Looking forward to coming back again on our next trip to ATL.
I was not impressed with this restaurant. When I made my reservation with OpenTable, I specifically mentioned that I was taking my daughter out to dinner for her birthday. When I mentioned it to the waiter, near the end of the dinner, he said that wished I had mentioned it to him earlier. It was not my place to mention it to him. I would have thought the hostess would have mentioned it to him when I checked in for dinner. I thought the entrees were good but the Caesar salad was very average and the desserts were average. However; I did think the food service was good.
You just cannot go wrong dining at this spot. We had not been there in a while but the food was excellent. We had several people that served us and all were patient, friendly, and responsive to our requests. The restaurant is a little small and I wish they would expand, but it is worth it.
