La Tavola Trattoria
Exposed brick, dark wood floors & rustic colors give La Tavola its authentic trattoria feel, while progressive touches hint at its innovative cuisine. The food is simple yet creative, elegant & certainly delicious - the kind of food you could eat every day or turn into a celebration.
La Tavola also offers one of the city's most unique brunch menus. It is a can't miss!

I made a reservation in advance and glad I did, this place was super packed Friday evening. We were sat at a small 2 person table right next to the bar, too close to the bar. That was disappointing. The food was good but when I order a few apps I asked the waitress if the items I choose was too much, she assured me not at all. Well that was not the case. Overall, definitely a place to check out but we wont go back until we check out other place in the area
Had the best service!
In and around downtown ATL, Italian seems to mean only pizza and fast food. La Tavola is worth the drive out for homemade pastas, and a great selection of wines. The restaurant is very small, and staff are friendly and knowledgable.
Was looking for a nice Italian restaurant to take my dad to since he was visiting for a few days and I couldn’t have chosen a better one to go to. It’s small and quaint so it seemed a bit crowded but it wasn’t stuffy. Food was delicious and they were able to make a modification to my preferred taste which I really appreciate.
Great service as always! We tried two new items - roasted Brussels sprouts appetizer and the fish special which was striped bass. Both were very good, though we missed having our mushroom tagliolini that we normally have as an appetizer. They always do a nice job of combining different flavors, but I would recommend asking for a little lemon to squeeze on the fish as it really set off the flavor even more! Still our favorite place for a meal out in Atlanta!
The three tiny two person tables by the door are horrible. The waiter bumps into some constantly and if someone at a different table wants to leave you have to get up. Otherwise everything was amazing!
La Tavola continues to be Atlantas best Italian. Simply amazing. Delicious and consistent from night to night. And the entire staff is top notch - polite, knowledgeable, professional and attentive. I love this place.
As always fantastic experience, best Italian in Atlanta
It felt like walking into a cute NYC restaurant in Little Italy. Very lively and immediate service. Decent food. Tried the squid ink spaghetti. It was ok, not as flavorful as I’d hoped. They bring out a delicious lemon olive cake with homemade whipped cream and candle (if you’re celebrating a birthday). Definitely coming back and trying something different!
La Tavola is like a trusty friend. Always warm and welcoming. Shares his/her food (I got a bowl of black eyed peas because I hadn't eaten any New Year's Day. ) We enjoyed ourselves immensely!
Food and service were great overall. We were seated on the covered porch which was nice, but cramped. Several fans were running, which we had to nearly shout to talk over. Wouldn’t recommend the patio for a date, but great if you want to drown out your kids for a meal. Spaghetti marinara was super salty, but other dishes were excellent (beet gnocchi, squid ink pasta, ricotta pine nut starter).
Randall was absolutely amazing, guiding me through the menu, coursing things out perfectly, pairing wine.. it was such a great experience and I'm hard to please! The fooooooooood was amazing!!
Great selection of Italian wines.
We always love this romantic little gem. And, as with all Fifth Group restaurants, the staff and service are consistently top notch. Beet gnocchi and squid ink pasta were both thoroughly enjoyed!!
We had the best time at La Tavola! The food was absolutely outstanding, and our server gave us excellent recommendations on wine as well. An incredible evening and we will certainly be back!
Incredible flavors, intimate restaurant, friendly service. Would say this restaurant is best for small groups (2-4 ppl). A few of the dishes were salter than I prefer but it did not overwhelm the flavor composition.
Loved everything about this restaurant! The location is in a fun part of midtown and it’s small enough to be intimate but lively enough to be fun. The food was delicious! I loved being able to order an appetizer portion of pasta. And our server was exceptionally knowledgeable about the wine selections. Dinner could not have been more perfect!
The taglietelle bolognese was perfect! I wish they had a few more red wines by the glass option - but it's always consistently great.
Still, my very favorite restaurant in Atlanta.
Great food, wine list and amazing service!
Our favorite place for brunch in Atlanta.
I was disappointed in our brunch experience here overall. The food was all just okay, quite bland actually and seemed prepared ahead of time. The bloody Mary’s were $11.50 which was appalling at brunch. Service was good.
We intended on going to Callies Biscuits but the line was so long we decided to stop in quick here. The server was a bit curt and took a minute or twenty to warm up to us, the food was amazing though. It took us a long time to get our bill. I would not suggest coming here if you are in a hurry.
Excellent food, excellent service! We sat outside in the covered area. The whole restaurant is a bit cramped but the food and service make up for it. Great experience!
Great neighborhood restaurant with excellent food and wine. Love this place for a casual night out or for a special occasion.
Great as always!
Romantic but hip kind of place, decently priced. Waiter Will brought the experience to life. Food was good. Meatballs very tasty; enjoyed the kale salad. Would go back, and recommend.
Great service and hospitality from staff members and excellent food and dining experience!
Great food great service reasonably priced in a great location
nor much as far as design, its too small, tight, but food service really good,
Great! They brought out a slice of cake for the birthday celebration.
Great location! Amazing menu with a variety of tasty selections at reasonable price. But the best thing about the restaurant is David and his wonderful staff. They truly make dining a celebratory experience where you feel special and genuinely appreciated. I love this place and always look forward to dining there.
Every aspect of our visit to La Tavola was outstanding. We had a late addition to our party that the hostess was happy to accommodate. Our bartender was very friendly despite being slammed (and made an outstanding Manhattan). Our server was happy to make recommendations as well as give us her thoughts on our wine selection. I wish I lived around the corner from La Tavola so I could be a regular!
The food is outstanding! I always come with my mom when she visits me in the city. We split a bottle of Chardonnay- so good and buttery and we also split a Caesar salad. We love the marinated olives as well. I have ordered the tagliolini twice and both times it was to die for, good portion size as well. I believe she got the bolognese and enjoyed it as well. I always take a tiramisu to go, although, I would like to try all of their desserts ;) Lots of vegetarian options and probably easy to make vegan as well.
I recommend making a reservation, as they are usually pretty busy and the space is smaller.
The staff, particularly Randall, was very friendly and courteous. It was a great birthday experience for my wife.
Waiter was rude and made us feel rushed. If the food wasnt as good as it was we wouldnt go back.
The service and food was on point. We had a few food limitations in our group the team made sure everything was enjoyed by all! They even made smaller portions to allow us to try multiple dishes.
A great small restaurant with personal, knowledgeable service. The food was excellent! We’ll be coming here more often.
We were welcomed warmly by members of the staff which, of course, set the tone for the evening. Once again, my husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner which had been carefully and creatively prepared, beautifully presented, and delightfully and efficiently served by Mary Catherine. Perfect way to spend a rainy Monday evening in Atlanta.
The food was outstanding, calamari, veal saltimbocca, cannoli... can't beat it. Reminded me of Italian restaurants in NYC.
