Our visit on Valentine's day was spurred by the restaurants entry into the chowder contest at The Snapper Inn. Although the menu was a price fixed menu for the busy night the variety was more than enough for various tastes. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They even gave us some free dessert wine for putting up with a rocking table. Can't wait to go back to sample their full menu
We had a wonderful time at La Tavola! If I had one criticism, it would be that they need to work on sitting people in a more timely fashion. I had a reservation for 7:30, and was told it would be “a few minutes”. We weren’t seated til 8:00. I suppose in the grand scheme of things it wasn’t a big deal (we wound up having a couple of drinks at the bar) but a reservation should be honored at the time it was made, otherwise why have a reservation at all? Everything that followed afterward was great though - our server was a sweetheart, and the food was delicious.
Always happy when we come here for dinner. Everyone is so kind and attentive. Best service then A LOT of places we have been to. Invited another couple who has never been and they loved it just as much as us. Food is impeccable, dessert is to die for and just overall always a great experience.

The food was good, but the menu is still the same for so many years, it would be nice for them to updated some things on it.
Also alot of the booths have ripped seats, with duck tape on them and it looks run down, I feel they really need to refresh the place a little.
This was our seond visit to La Tavola and it was even better than the first. It was Christmas Eve so we were happy that the service was great and it wasn't a noisy, mob scene. My teen daughter had the short ribs with polenta and loved every bite. Our burrata app and calamari were both perfect, too. Overall a great meal in a pretty setting at a friendly neighborhood restaurant.
La Tavola has consistently superior food and service. We shared a special appetizer of crab legs oreganata. I would have gladly finished another order. Also shared their calamari which is always light and crispy with two terrific dipping sauces. everyone was very happy with their dinners. I had the scallops, which I order frequently. My friend had a special roast duck with honey and my other friend had a lobster BLT. Desserts are also a must-have. Try the house-made biscotti. Yummy.
very glad i made a reservation since it turns out there was a big holiday clebration in town that night and place was very busy...........despite that the waiter was friendly and helpful......the food was very good......they had specials and also a good variety of items on menu.........we enjoyed our dinner
I made mention in my reservation that it was our anniversary. It was clear that they paid attention to that and came by and dropped off two flutes of champagne which was really appreciated. My wife and I have three kids, both work, and we do not have a lot of time together let alone time to go out on a date. It was nice to relax with some champagne and then our bar drinks.
Speaking of the drinks we ordered-I ordered the 'Guns & Rosé' Old-Fashioned. Holy Smokes! It was tasty and that is coming from a Old-Fashioned aficionado. My wife kept it simple with a beer.
Food was great. We started with the crab tots (think of them as mini crab cakes in tater tot form). They came with either a tartar sauce or some sort of aioli (sorry guys can't remember).
I had the Hangar Steak, cooked perfectly at Medium, the green beans it came with as a side were cooked perfectly as well.
My wife had one of their pizzas. The bite I had of it was great!
Our server, Jack, was amiable and attentive while giving us ample time and space to just enjoy each other's company.
The staff was very pleasant but it appeared they were short staffed. It took quite some time for our dessert to arrive.
I had the shrimp & lobster ravioli with scallops. It was very good & fresh but could have used a more flavorful sauce and more of it. There wasn't enough for each of the 3 scallops & 3 raviolis.
My friend had the rigatoni with the veal meatballs, she said it was very good.
There was a table nearby of 6-8 who were extremely loud which made it difficult to have a conversation at our own table.
I don't see myself going back soon because I not only expect to enjoy the meal and experience but I also look forward to good conversation when I dine out.
This was our third time visiting . When we went to this restaurant in August for our Anniversary, I was truly blown away. They greeted us with a "Happy Anniversary" when we arrived. They had table cloths on the table, which made it feel special. The service was great and they gave us a free desert because it was our anniversary! This time it was my husband's birthday... No acknowledgement at all... Some how it was not the same as it was in August.
The appetizers my family had (old world meatballs, arancini, & truffle mac&cheese) were great, the garlic infused oil and bread on the table were delicious, and I loved the butternut squash raviolis in kale pesto (very fresh and excitingly seasonally inspired).
Always been a fan of La Tavola and was excited to try their Long Island Restaurant week menu. Reservation was easy to make and we were sat quickly. Appetizers were perfectly sized and delicious. Dinner selections were seasonal and very enjoyable. My boyfriend and I had a lovely date night!
I had the worst best clams ever. They were in some kind of lemon sauce, (as opposed to the normal white wine sauce) that was absolutely horrible. There was also a decent size piece of shell in one of them I crunched on. I'm still wondering why I didnt send it back.
The pasta dish had lobster in the name, but I was lucky if there was 1 piece in my dish.
Very very disappointed.
Friends and I took advantage of Restaurant Week to try La Travola and we're already trying to plan on when to go back. The food was unique, fresh, and delicious. Try the crab bites! They were on the regular menu but so worth the splurge. The staff was also very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. We went with wine and the bottle came out too warm. They didn't ask questions and were quick to replace it.
Love this restaurant, always wonderful food and service!! But, first time we have been there in the evening since the remodel, it was very noisy, we asked to be seated as far away from the bar as possible. We were seated in the other room and at one point it was even loud in there. Noise level makes it difficult to have dinner conversation.
As always La Tavola was delicious. We sat on the porch and listened to live music which added to the enjoyable evening. My husband had the Lobster BLT and I had the eggplant with veggies and cheese on ciabatta. Both were very good. Our server Kelsey was outstanding, as were the bus staff. One of our favorite go to restaurants.
