As always, amazing food, wine and Cyndi provided exceptional service. La Taverne is our favorite restaurant when we have something special to celebrate or just want a world-class dining experience.
This was our first time to La Taverne and it did not disappoint! We were seated in the garden and it was so bright and cheery. What a friendly wait staff! Very attentive, great suggestions and accommodations of our special requests. I had the salmon and my husband had the scallops--excellent! And the creme brûlée' cheesecake was the best dessert that I have ever tasted. We will definitely dine at La Taverne again.
Outstanding food and service. Pricing is on par for the Broadmoor but a little high for the same dishes elsewhere. You are paying for service and ambience.
Used to be a great place, but it’s pretty diminished. Atmosphere and live music were terrific. But the food was overcooked (steak and scallops). The “Somm” brought the wrong vintage of wine we ordered, and when I looked at the label and pointed it out, she told me I was wrong without even looking at the label. When she finally recognized it was the wrong bottle she didn’t even apologize. Just left to go get the correct bottle. She opened and poured, then never returned. They automatically add a 20% service charge to the bill, and our server was a kid who barely knew the menu. She took orders and poured water. All in all, a disappointing experience for a $400 dollar dinner at a restaurant I’ve been frequenting for 2 decades.
Loved Stan, our waiter!
I had the prime rib, which was excellent. In fact all our food was great except the grilled octopus appetizer, which was sub-par; quite rubbery. Service was very good.
Vacation indulgence at a luxury hotel’s fine dining. The prime rib French dip and the macaroni and cheese were amazing. The service was exceptional and the Jardin Room was beautiful.
We had a great time!
Always excellent food and service! There is no place better that the Broadmoor!
We were all very happy with their dinners. The food was absolutely delicious. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. Our waitress was so helpful and took very good care us.
As one of the well rated ,higher end restaurants at the Broadmoor Resort, La Taverne doesn't always live up to it's reputation. My guests & I enjoyed the ambiance and overall hospitality, but the food was a notch below the level of this luxury resort. Absolutely loved their French Onion Soup,so don't pass that up. Dinner entrees well presented and tasty, but not over the top. Baked Alaska made a very fine choice to end our dinner
Wonderful to have a 5 Star hotel nearby for those very special occasions! The Broadmoor does not disappoint. Ambiance alone is always so luxurious and worth the drive. Being able to stay for lunch makes the visit even more special.
Unbelievable food and service. Our waitress was very accommodating to my wife’s dietary needs. Highly recommend.
Everything had good flavor. The steak was to be cooked at medium well was very red inside.
Always enjoyable at any restaurant in The Broadmoor
We purchased a really nice bottle of wine. Ordered soap, salad, rib eye steak - all very good. However, at time of the bill, the waiter said it's their policy to add 20% to the bill (there were 2 of us). Really, 20% on wine! We didn't argue as we had a good waiter.
However, when making a reservation, it should say that ahead of time.
Zenda, our server, was great. Both my husband and I had the prime rib - delicious and so very tender.
See my yelp review tomorrow
Steak was cooked perfectly but there was no seasoning on it. They serve it with a choice of sauces which I thought was odd. Most steak restaurants frown upon sauces and want to highlight their seasoning. Perhaps this is just a different style but I didn’t think it was worth the price. My baked potato had so much sour cream on it it was absurd. Decor is frumpy and just seems old. Best part of the evening was the dessert. I hoped for better and was disappointed with the evening.
Quite a bit of hype for a pretty average "nice" steakhouse. Food wasn't exceptional, wasn't bad either, just pretty average.
Beautiful atmosphere and great band Friday and Saturday nights!
I ordered the turkey club sandwich for lunch. I was disappointed that my sandwich was made with white bread and lunchmeat. I was expecting something a little more upscale from the Broadmoor.
The fresh oysters were great.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday, but had a few issues. Dirty glasses and a long hair in her birthday cake. Maybe it was an off night for the place, but definitely a great atmosphere. Our waiter was awesome.
Great experience, as always!
I had the steak and mushrooms as a side - both were delicious. The Bee’s Knees drink is also really tasty. My only complaints are that it was a pretty expensive meal for such a small piece of steak and I wish the Broadmoor had more dessert options for gluten free/dairy free people. All of their desserts sounded delicious but I couldn’t have any of them except sorbet (which I’m not a fan of). With a dessert chef on staff, I would think they could come up with some pretty creative options for people with food allergies. Other than that, it was great and I will definitely go back.
Great for a nice lunch, or a business casual dinner, the tavern offers an non-intimidating menu of classics with a few twists.
Enjoyed the visit to La Taverne. One point down on ambiance because the table was cramped into a corner where it was impossible to get in and out without giving the person at the next table uncomfortably close proximity to my backside.
Fantastic. Great food and service.
Excellent food and service. Always is at the Broadmoor.
We were celebrating our 38th anniversary and La Taverne was the perfect place. We were seated in a quiet area. Our server was friendly. The food was great!
My husband and I dined at La Taverne for my birthday. It was our first visit and won't be our last. He had the prime rib and I ordered the salmon. The food was cooked to perfection and had great flavor. It was fresh and prepared with care. The service was absolutely outstanding and the atmosphere was quiet and elegant. We felt like VIPs even though we're just "regular" folks. For a special night out, I highly recommend visiting La Taverne!
We had a great time at LeTaverne. Looking forward t our next visit.
It was an amazing experience
We had a wonderful weekend at at the Broadmoor this past weekend. The only problem we had was our steaks came out and my wife’s was way over done. By the time her new steak came out mine was cold and she was no longer hungry. Would have been nice if they would have tried to make it right with a small discount or a free dessert
Our prime rib dinner was outstanding! But we were extremely disappointed in the New Orlean’s Oysters Rockefeller a la Galatoire appetizer. They were nothing more than oysters in the shell completely covered with finely chopped spinach. Very very dry and very tasteless. The menu description said “charred Pernod scented spinach”. Wrong! There was no Pernod scent or flavor whatsoever. We wish we had complained but decided against it. The dish should be removed from the menu. We felt like we had just thrown $18 away.
Consistently outstanding in every way.
Decor is very dated and the food was sub par. For the prices and it being at the Broadmoor, we were very disappointed. It’s back to the Summit for us next time.
Great experience and service. Food was so good and dancing was so much fun..will definitely be back
