La Tarte Flambee - Jardin Ratings and Reviews
Party of 4: My 14 year old, my niece and wife. Delicious escargot and scrumptious tarte fflambee. Sat a little too close to the door and felt the cold wind, but we picked the table so that was on us. And we could have moved. I have had their banana split in the past: Crushingly good...
What a lovely place this is! The food is delicious! We tried the tartes and the dishes from Alsace. Everything was so so good. My favorite was the Grumbeerekuechle - potato pancakes with apple sauce and side of greens. Yumm...
Service is excellent. They go above and beyond to provide a great dining experience.
The outside patio is charming.
We had a wonderful evening dining here. Would def come back here mainly for the outstanding food and service.
My husband, son and I came here just to have something "French" on Bastille Day. We all loved our tarts. Nice to try something different. My son lives in Murray Hill, so we often try new places that we can walk to when we are visiting. There are many options in the area, but we enjoyed La Tarte Flambee enough to put it on our "repeat list"!
Good tarte flambée, just wish for more crème! But good .
Escargot was ok
Steak frite , nice size plate , just order Rare got them Medium plus . But meat was good .
Rack of lamb , ask for MR got them MW plus , but my son say they were good anyway.
Salad with walnuts, goats cheese need some work .
Our waiter was excellent. He was very attentive (never letting our glasses stay empty for long!), funny, and helpful. We were a group of 6, but we never felt pressure to hurry up and leave like at some places. The restaurant has a very laid back atmosphere and the food was great. I would definitely return!
We had a wonderful lunch at La Tarte Flambee this past Sunday on a beautiful warm spring day. We enjoyed several interesting wines by the glass and a couple of their great tartes along with a delicious green salad. The service could not have been better and the atmosphere was perfect. On a beautiful warm spring day, the doors were wide open and the atmosphere warm and welcoming.
I ordered a onion soup and it was fairly good but under my expectations for a french restaurant. The steak with fries was more than well done as a consequence so dry that I could not finish it. The waitress said I should returned but you do not expect that a french restaurant does not know how to prepare an steak, ordered medium, the first time. They charged the full amount and did not have any courtesy discount or apology. One table had 2 males making a lot of noise, inappropriate and very disturbing for an small place like this.
What a find! We needed a restaurant between Grand Central and the Flatiron for a lunch with friends to catch up on news. I picked La Tarte Flambe-Jardin based upon its location and the Open Table reviews. It was even better than I had hoped. The tartes were marvelous. We ordered three and shared, together with a large green salad that was so fresh and crisp - just perfect. A bottle of Rhone wine, and we were all set. It was quiet, so we could talk in peace, and the food was delicious. I could not recommend La Tarte Flambe-Jardin too highly.
I ate lunch and dinner here this past week. Two thumbs up for both experiences and a 'tip of the hat' to the waitstaff (Maria, Ryan and Gabriel) who were all attentive and unobtrusive.
For lunch, my friend and I split the Provencale Tarte Flambee and Salade de chevre - both delicious.
For dinner later that week, another friend and I sat in the garden in the back next to the fountain and it was fantastic - so peaceful and it was a beautiful night! I had the french onion soup (delicious) and my friend had the leek soup. We split Jardin Tarte Flambee w/gruyere cheese and for dessert we split the apples, bananas and strawberry tarte flambee w/nutella on the side. And to add to the perfect meal and evening, there were $6 glasses of champagne all evening!
Highly recommend - I'm hoping they put heat lamps in the garden so that I can continue to sit there during the winter months!
I came here for a colleagues birthday lunch, and we thought the food and service were lovely. We ordered two lunch special combos so that we could try different tarte's and the price was also reasonable. The level of care and service will definitely bring me back hre for more.
A friend and I came here to celebrate my birthday. I wanted a place that had good, casual food and yummy dessert at a modest price. La Tarte Flambee delivered on all counts. Everything was fresh, made to order, and (at least to me) original. I don't often eat Alsatian food and it was a refreshing change from the ubiquitous Italian/Mexican/Thai options in New York City. We shared two savory and two sweet tartes: the forestiere, poulette, oreo, and pomme with Nutella. I promise, you will not leave hungry.
