Our birthday evening with our out of town guests couldn’t have been more grand! Francis and his staff went out of their way to fill our request for a large booth in a fabulous location, which overlooked the holiday lights and scenery of Post oak. The food was cooked perfectly - go tomahawk steak and chicken carved and served table side. A perfect evening had by all. Can’t wait to return for another beautiful evening. Thank you for making my husband’s birthday so special.
A new dining experience that we look forward to our return. Excellently appointed decor, coupled with our wonderful host, we were escorted to our second floor table overlooking beautifully holiday theme decorated Post Oak Blvd. The menu suggest high end traditional French-Belgian cuisine and I highly recommend the duck, if you are looking for that special treat. For some reason their martini’s stood out as best ever! Le Table is high on my list to return!
Food, service and atmosphere all top notch!! Very elegant!! Found a new favorite restaurant in Houston!!
Love the atmosphere and the food was delicious. We were a group that varied in age from 18 - 60, and all loved it. The service is impeccable, yet warm.
Food and Service good. Overpriced food, wine and mixed beverages.
New favorite French restaurant. We will be back for sure
They just kind of missed the mark. some of the wait staff was way above average. but, when you're in a nice restaurant and they have to explain that yes, we have salads but gee, our classy menu doesn't mention any salads, what's up w/ that? The service was spotty at times and the food quality was good but only good, especially considering the prices and that we're in Houston.. Now, the casual place below, with the fun bar may be a better call but I wasn't really impressed.
Amazing meal and service! The food was unbelievably delicious and our waiters were amazingly helpful and friendly. Best brunch we’ve had in a while.
This place truly is not what it used to be. It seems like it's under new management. Our waitress was Susan, who I've never had. Now you have to specifically ask for tap water when you order water. Otherwise you'll be given bottled water for $8/ bottle. The normal portion sizes are much smaller. The 42 oz steak was dry with cognac flavor that was off putting. I was also offered a birthday dessert, as I/ friends always are when we celebrate birthdays here. The difference this time is we were surprised charged $20 for it. This is the first time this has happened to me here, so I was shocked. The overall experience was not worth it- La Table lost a patron.
The service and food were excellent and the total experience was certainly worth the price we paid
all in all,it was a nice brunch with personable service, however I did not appreciate their "slight of hand" upcharge on 2 cocktails. although a cocktail came with brunch, a couple of coffees were later ordered. when the bill arrived,I asked why I was being charged approx. $18.00 for 2 cocktails & was told they 1st consider the coffee a free drink & then the much higher price for the cocktail is charged. this negative ending to an other wise pleasant outing will keep me from returning again.
I highly recommend this restaurant! Service was on point and the made my anniversary a special one!
Fantastic experience, there was a recent menu change so a lot of the dishes were new and unfamiliar to both our table of four and the staff serving us.
We tried the cheese souffle, seafood platter and a couple others for starters. Everything was good, portion sizes looked small but were very filling.
The duck entree was absolutely amazing and large in comparison to other duck dishes at competing restaurants, and it was also perfectly prepared. The lamb was also a major treat, cooked to the chefs choice, and our dining companions couldn't be happier.
The manager came by and checked on us twice. Between the appetizer and entree there was about 15 minutes where we were waiting for our food and we weren't checked on, or updated on when to expect it, but aside from that the entire meal was excellent.
The ambiance was good, save for it was a little loud on our Saturday evening visit for our 7:45 reservation. By 9 it quieted down in the chateau, and we could finally talk comfortably across the large table over our desserts.
Our entire party was impressed. We will return.
It's such a beautiful restaurant. We enjoyed our evening and our delicious meal. Love the new menu, great job to all!
The ambiance was amazing!!! The food was ok but the service was horrible. The waiter was rude & unhelpful. I asked if I could substitute a side item for a low carb option .. response “I don’t know, look at the other items on the menu. I ordered wasabi spinach & steak. The meal came with two sauces, the spinach did not have a wasabi favor I ask the waiter if one of the sauces was for the spinach .. response “clearly they are both steak sauces.” The steak was cooked to the right temperature but did not taste good (the worse steak I had in Texas).
The rose tea was really good & I loved the sand timer but I wasn’t offered a bread selection (bunch menu)(waiter just gave me to different kinds)
The manager was helpful in addressing my concerns regarding the waiter but I would not go back or recommend La Table. Peli Peli, Yauatcha, and Masraff’s are much better options in the area than La Table.
We happened to go on the night they premiered their new menu. We were so disappointed. The pork chop was over cooked and dry. The Halibut was bland and boring. The leeks were stringy and difficult to chew. We used to like the classic French style of cooking, with very flavorful sauces, meats seasoned with lots of herbs and garlic etc. We will not return with this new menu.
Great service with very friendly staff.
Our food was delicious.
We were duly impressed with the elegant atmosphere, superb service and exceptional food quality. We also realize it's challenging to find all these elements in one restaurant. Yet, Chateau/La Table succeeds on all fronts. We are willing to pay top dollar when a restaurant really delivers.
A Houston leading combination of ambience, service, and great food. You should try it.
Michael was our waiter, and he was wonderful! We had a great dinner there. The restaurant and presentation of the food are beautiful, and of course the food is delicious. I would like to see the lights dimmed a bit in the evening. But the ambience is really nice overall.
Wonderful restaurant - food, atmosphere, decor and just everything is absolutely spectacular.
Exceptional service, outstanding menu . We had an excellent dinner . And the Cocktail bar is fantastic
I hate to say it but The Chateau at La Table was just OK. We were hoping to have a great meal and when we found out we couldn't order what we wanted (roasted chicken for 2) it went down hill from there. The service was good but the food was average at best. I had the Halibut special which was OK but Masraff's is so much better! My Mom had the lobster and bad. Come out cold and the spices weren't to her liking. Not sure I can give it another try. If you are going, you need to make sure your order the chicken at the time of the reservation.
We enjoyed the tasting menu for our party of four celebrating a birthday. Food was exquisite, service perfection and the value was remarkable.
A real gem—Their updated versions of crab salad and peach melba are to die for!
Service and food both left a lot to be desired. We waited for 10 minutes after beingseated before provided with drink menu. Wine recommendations were on point but aside from that, the experience was a disappointment. Our server said that dishes could not be made gluten free because they were “pre-made.” The shrimp cocktail was tough and had brown slime on it. I ordered the Branzino which comes with asparagus, marble potatoes, and frisée salad - I subbed seasonal vegetables for the asparagus and the other two sides didn’t come out, so I had to essentially beg for the potatoes, no salad to be seen. Ambience was probably the best part - would not go back.
Absolutely delighted to have found this stunning restaurant for a special occasion. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly, the staff were decreetly attentive and we had a most memorable family reunion dinner.
Many thanks for making it wonderful.
Great service, great food!!!
Easily the best food in Houston.
My wife and I are obsesssd with good food and if you are looking for a truly ala carte meal then look no further!
For entree we had the Tomahawk for two, which they flambé in brandy at the table- and wow the taste was spectacular.
The best part though was the starter I ordered, very simple roasted eggplant ravioli with a tomato broth and foam reduction. AMAZING, so delicious!
Staff are unbelievably attentive and it’s the only Michelin stared service I can think of in Houston.
The rolls are the best anywhere...Everything was GREAT!!!!!!!!
Houston Restaurant Weeks lunch. Had the avocado/cucumber salad, salmon/veggies. Perfection! Love this place and a real deal for HRW.
This place is top notch. The food is amazing and the service impeccable. We were there for lunch during restaurant weeks and had the salmon. It melted in our mouths.
LOVE this place! Service was excellent. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the cucumber and avocado salad. Beautiful, serene atmosphere.
Gorgeous interior, great food and service.
Our 4th year anniversary celebration (or 3rd time celebrating at La Table) was a wonderful experience, again The service was all-star and food perfection. Always recommend this gem to make an evening special
Start with a drink downstairs at the bar with Susan, then upstairs for your meal. The lamb done tableside for two is exquisite. Francis and his staff are all charming and sincere. And what a gorgeous restaurant with all the books ... lovely.
Impeccable service, outstanding food with a quiet and elegant ambiance is conducive to a business meeting, special occasion or memorable meal.
Good food. Great service.
We enjoyed our lunch very much, the rolls were outstanding!!!
Met some friends for what we hoped to be a special evening, but the extremely slow service, lukewarm food (I had the mignon poivre. Medium rare. Received it rare and lukewarm. Nobody checked it was done right) was nothing to brag about. It's a beautiful restaurant, so you would expect service to only support it.
I've noticed a gentleman walking around asking each table about how their evening was going. Except ours. Hmm. Profiling? Maybe they cater to only a certain audience (you follow?). That's fine. You just won't see me or my friends again.
