I have been to La Table many times to celebrate special occasions. I have always enjoyed the restaurant. The last couple of times I have been there I have noticed that restaurant is slipping. I celebrated fathers day my last visit. To start off there was no silverware on my table. Food was served without anybody noticing this. The ceviche did not taste fresh, the filet mingon was over cooked. The coffee cups that were set out at the coffee bar did not match the saucers. There was also no cream or milk set out at the coffee bar. The restaurant is an upscale restaurant with no dress code enforced. There were people at the brunch wearing T shirts and cut off shorts.
Very disappointing to see what I once thought was Houston's best to slide into mediocrity.
Where do I start? I enjoy this restaurant and have had very satisfactory experiences eating here but they really missed the mark this Father’s Day. We were first seated at a window table. While waiting for our third party to arrive, we were told that we had to move because “someone important” was to be seated there. Uh, o.k., guess they didn’t see my husband’s picture in the Chronicle today (and not in the obituaries). The next table we moved to had a dirty tablecloth & they were in no hurry to change it so we moved yet again. Now to the “brunch” at $65 per person. The waiters bring to your table breakfast food- croissants, rolls, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes & French toast (filler food). Then if you are still hungry you can go to the “stations” for shrimp, roast beef, salmon etc.. Our Diet Coke and cappuccino were extra. The wait staff acted as if they had just started today. Very unorganized and they seemed confused. Then of course the bill came. Charged for a mimosa that the waiter said he knew we didn’t have but left it on the bill anyway. I have had brunch at other restaurants that charge a similar price and they knock your socks off with presentation and food choices. Somehow, we left feeling duped. Just wanted to share so others are forewarned.
Exquisite food and attentive service. All waiters were friendly, professional, and funny.
Lovely place, great food, great service and staff.
My husband and I dined at Le Table for our anniversary. The service was impeccable, the was food delicious and the staff was attentive and friendly, while being super professional. The restaurant has two private rooms upstairs that would be perfect for a group. Downstairs is the more casual bar and market restaurant. We had a drink at the bar, which offers a happy hour special of wines by the glass or bottle. Wine Bottle purchase includes a tomato flatbread that was quite tasty.
Bad manager service
It was good for special day our 58th wedding anniversary.
Superb and reminiscent of very fine European places.
Elegance with excellent food service and ambiance. Best restaurant in Houston for romantic conversation
Exceptional service, exceptional food!
Outstanding in every way. Probably the best and most authentic French meal and wine list in Houston.
Beyond whatever expectations we might have had!
While I do recommend this restaurant, there are a few things for which I was little disappointed. First, the service - the speed and attention from the server was not good and I don't remember her checking on us much at all during dinner. She did ask us if we wanted coffee with our soufflé which we did but were reluctant to order thinking it would take a while. It did. She may have been a little busy. Secondly, it was my wife and my 17th anniversary which I noted in the reservation, yet nobody said anything! The hotel we stayed at welcomed us at check in with a "Happy Anniversary!" and even sent up a bottle of champagne and some chocolates and strawberries! Not even a complimentary croissant from La Table... Also, if you want to request a special table apparently you need to call ahead and put down a deposit. There really are no bad tables, per se, but there are a few that I would say are better than most, but when I asked for one of those I was told they had paid a deposit for that table. And finally, there was no music of any kind playing. So, the ambience seemed a bit flat. Some quiet background music at a minimum would be nice.
Despite the above I would still recommend this restaurant. The food was very good! Also, it had a very nice décor and overall ambience, despite the lack of any music.
We will be back, just probably not on our 18th anniversary.
Elegant, great service and delicious beautifully presented food! Will return for a special occasion.
Usually it’s great but my steak was very undercooked I ordered medium well and it was all pink. I made reservations for a bday and told the hostess it was her birthday and they did nothing to acknowledge it
I treated myself to Professional Administrative Day and La Table did not disappoint!
Fantastic food, hospitality, I can't say enough about how well you are treated here, from the time you enter the doors!
Keep up the great work!!!
We always enjoy our dinners at La Table - Chateau where the quality of the food and the service is just impeccable. Knowledgeable staff who able and willing to advise on food and wine choices. Excellent restaurant, very comfortable and welcoming
Very nice romantic spot for upscale dining.
totally fabulous! best fine dining experience in Houston, Valerio is so charming & keeps the service level at the best! food is excellent!
Easter Brunch was fantastic! This is our “go to” place for all special occasions. Their holiday brunches are the best in town! Even had a visit from the Easter Bunny. It high end and classy and delicious.
Very over priced and the food was not good. There is nothing to recommend
I like everything about this place. Food, ambience, service. Everything is SO nice!!
Excellent food, great service and a fantastic wine list. The rack of lamb was excellent as was the duck special.
La Table is always a first choice when entertaining special friends traveling to Houston. The food and service never disappoint. While I am not a weekly diner at the restaurant incredibly their staff always remember me and this is impressive to be greeted by them. Another lovely and memorable evening at La Table!
Not an experience worthy of the prices. First, we ordered our favorite champagne, which they had a bottle of in their display, only to be told they don’t carry it. Then our server got my order wrong then argued with me about it, wanted me to taste what he’d brought and see if I liked it, then was annoyed when I didn’t want to eat it anyway. We ordered one steak medium rare and one medium and they were both red all the way through. The people who brought out the dishes and did their coordinated reveals of your meal had no idea whose meal was whose.
It’s a beautiful restaurant, I very much appreciated their gluten-free efforts and the chocolate soufflé was delicious, but this was not a 5 star experience and I wouldn’t recommend it.
My niece and I met for lunch and enjoyed the ambience and food at this lovely restaurant. Our waiter was very friendly and provided great service. We sat upstairs in the Chateau Dining Room which had lovely fresh flowers (even in the ladies room) and was great for conversation. I will return.
Food was excellent. Service was somewhat lacking as we had to ask for bread and pour our own wine
Overall good experience but at this price level one expects perfection
Great atmosphere, good for conversation, great service and food. Souffle for dessert was decadent.
The place is nice, Post Oak is a mess, and sitting outside might be noisy, dusty, however, we st inside downstairs after deciding upstairs was not as cozy. Waited quite a while to make an order on pre inner drinks, waited 15 min for those two drinks, and continued to have to get the attention of staff to make food orders etc. The bread on the table was so tough, it became a thing of amusement that neither of us could make a dent in it, , it was like plastic, the staff brought out new bread "new"....but shouldn't the bread have been new, fresh anyway? We both ordered crab cocktails, and it was fine, simple. they brought the dessert tray, nothing looked good, asked for coffee, got that, and they brought a macaroon, it had freezer burn, the coffee was cold. At least we gave the place a try.
Sadly the food has gone downhill...The caesar salad dressing was so strong that it was inedible. The brussel sprouts were bitter, the quinois salad was under-cooked to the point where the grains crunched when eating. One bite and I was done. The Salmon was a bit undercooked, part of it was still raw. The menu has been reduced to such a small selection that there is too little choice. My date ordered a burger and I saw that he only ate a few bites. I used to love this restaurant... I wont be returning.
Went for a spontaneous lunch and have found a new favorite place. Food is gorgeously presented and full of intense flavor. Crab salad and Lobster Bisque definitely do not miss. Susan was our server - she has a lovely presence and her hospitality is genuine. Wine list very well thought out and the prices more than reasonable. Can’t wait to go back!!
Very nice atmosphere. I think some of the food is a little pricey, but the service is very good. I was surprised they didn't offer something complimentary for my daughters birthday- I wasn't planning to spend $150 on lunch for 3, and we did not even order drinks-
The food was meh but the drinks were lovely! Kind of slow service.
We have been to La Table many times and often it is our "go to" for special occasions. This past Saturday, they were not on their game. It started with a call confirming our reservation when the hostess "confirmed" our reservation for 2. In fact we had made a reservation for 5. When I corrected her, she hesitated, and said, "oh ok, yes, correct." What irritated me next was that when we arrived for our seating, they sat us in the back room at a small table for 4 and said that the front room had been reserved in advance. I made our reservations over a month ago. Lastly, we only learned at the time of listening to the specials from our waiter that the chicken for two was only on a "pre-ordered basis" so it was not available. How would we have known? With as many possibilities in Houston for fine dining, I'm sorry to say we will hesitate to return to La Table.
Definitely will go back!
Lovely food and ambience. Our waiter unfortunately did was more focused on 2 tables than he was on ours leaving Directions to 6810 Greenwood Valley Place, Katy TX 77493

One of the best overall dining experience I’ve ever had! Amazing food and service! You can’t beat the level of service and expertise.
Le Table has a WOW factor for sure. We had dinner upstairs in the "Chateau" and were not disappointed. We started with a cocktail at the bar where Umberto made the best Martini I have had in a long, long time. Awesome. My wife had a beautiful Pinot Noir and it started the evening off great. We moved to our reserved table and loved the ambiance of the small table.
We started with appetizers and ordered a really nice Pualliac which is a variety hard to find it seems. My wife oreded the Fois Gras and I the french Onion Soup. While expensive, verging on over priced it was delicious. We then ordered the Short Rib and the duck which were both amazing. We ended with the Chocolate Souffle which was AMAZING. I never eat desert and demolished this. Overall, an amazing food experience, a decent service experience and while expensive....a great meal experience.
