Excellent flavours! The chocolate soufflé was fabulous!
Wonderful! We had a great experience. Our server, Mario, was very attentive. He was able to assist with wine pairings and food selection. He went above and beyond to make our dining an experience. The food was perfect-from the bread to the dover to the delectable desserts. You don't want to miss your chance to visit this restaurant!
We couldn't have asked for a better experience for our Valentine's Day Date. The food was incredible and the menu for the night was perfect. Our waiter was amazing and it was a true team effort from their staff. The vibes there are unmatched for a romantic evening upstairs. This was our first time there but we will absolutely be going back again very soon. I highly recommend! You won't be disappointed.
Very enjoyable experience. Service was excellent and food was great and unique. Acoustics were good enough that I could actually hear conversations and that is very unusual. Will return in the near future.
Incredible Duck and Lobster dishes. Everything was outstanding.
My husband and I enjoyed a special lunch on Valentines Day. Food was beautifully prepared and presented. Our waiter and maitre d were very personable. Ambience in the Chateau Room was lovely.
My wife and I had dinner here for Valentine's, and I must say this was a hit! The service was superb and the food was incredible. We had a Dover Sole made for 2 that was the best fish dish ever! The second floor dining room has a great Houston view. The tables were large and well spaced apart, giving a privileged dining feeling. As we left, I was able to view the kitchen through glass behind the second floor bar. It is gleaming and massive, and very busy. The restaurant was completely full by 8 PM. There were a number of diners who, on arrival, were greeted like old friends. It is obvious that repeat regulars are constantly dining here. The waiting staff were very knowledgable, and the valet parking guys were also attentive, and had to be amateur comedians. The first floor also has a bar and tales and is designed to be less formal. My wife and I have some great friends that we adore who are soon moving out of state. We each agreed this restaurant will be the site of a going-away dinner that will host in the coming months.
My husband and I really enjoyed our food and the server was very good but the service was just sooo slow. We got caught behind a large party in the private room and I see why and they gave us free coffee and a dessert to make up for it. I would give them another try as otherwise it was great.
At La Table, much work has been put into providing an authentic French dining experience, culminating in its more formal upstairs Chateau dining room. Entry is through a downstairs nouveau bistro/patisserie with its own full casual menu and seating and an inviting upscale bar well suited for imbibing before or after dining or taking dessert. For the Chateau, our the quickie takes: food: excellent, well-prepared and noteworthy; service: attentive, friendly and fully staffed; décor: a fine mix of plush modern with a hint of bistro roots; the tab: definitely high-end but expected. For foodies: the branzino, not served looking at you but rather offered as a delicate deboned filet with skin intact topped with a light sauce - delightful; a black truffle pasta specialty perfectly cooked and sauced, liberally sprinkled with the obligatory shavings perhaps a bit past their prime to be too remarkable; and desserts well worth the indulgence. Entrees were limited to eight selections on the menu plus two announced specials; sufficiently varied so as not to trouble any in our party. On service: the complete staff of waiters, servers, maître d' and sommelier was attentive and French-inspired complete with a well-choreographed simultaneous removal of all cloche plate covers. A few peccadilloes: a staff a tad too familiar and overt with long-winded pronouncements of wine and fare that should not be passed over (while we did not expect Gallic indifference as a service mark of authenticity, we suggest a bit more understatement than the neighborhood trattoria); a wine list that approaches or exceeds 3X street pricing, though Coravin-preserved higher-end offerings by the glass made up for some of that; and occasional rock music inappropriate for the setting wafting in from the downstairs bar from the entry door left open.
The food was outstanding with the service even better
Used to be one if my favorites, however after their renovation, their menu has sized down quite a bit with not many options. They have gotten rid of their delicious lamb burger as well.
The food is good, somewhat small menu choices. The service level surprised me. They are a little amateurish in the way the waiters work the tables. They don’t know what has been said by whom and sometimes you can’t get anyone. A request was not filled and I had to catch someone e walking by to bring it. For what is supposed to be a top place in town it needs some work. Forgot to mention that they had a happy birthday sign on the table for our anniversary.
Sublime - the attention to detail, the ambiance, the perfect table/space ratio, delicious food (salads, entrees and dessert - you can even have a gourmet cheeseburger), the above par service from everyone makes this a perfect setting. You can HEAR your own conversation, sit for hours without any pressure. Lastly - they steam press a the tablecloths to perfection!! Details were NOT lost on us!!
We were originally seated at a table that was very cold. Our server reseated us at another table. Still cold but bearable. At that point and throughout the evening our service was spotty, as if we were an afterthought by the wait staff. Definitely not what we have experienced at this restaurant before.
The food is excellent--I would call it upscale French Bistro, and with a decidedly heady price tag. Service was excellent (though oddly my lamb chops arrived at table warm, and my wife's duck barely tepid). The sommelier was honest and knowledgeable (he candidly stated that the Cornas I initially selected probably wasn't ready to drink). It is an older crowd (understandable, given the staggering price). Bottom line: the food was excellent, the setting beautiful, and the service excellent overall. Practice up on your high school French; the place feels like Paris to me.
Had been looking forward to eating at this restaurant, we had a great time before dinner at the bar downstairs with my daughter and son in law. We went upstairs for our dinner and there was a larger party next to us and noticed that the waitress was giving them better service then us. We were seated before they had arrived. We asked for anchovies for the Caesar salad we waited and waited, we had to ask another waiter about this and finally our waitress brought the anchovies. We will not be returning there are so many
great places to eat in Houston and will go to one of those instead
Outstanding server Susan made us feel welcome. Outstanding ambience and food: quality and presentation.
Went here today for anniversary dinner and had the Salmon and Octopus along with a French coffee and margarita and crepe brûlée. Our server Humberto was magnificent and Frances the manager was spectacular. Definitely recommend
The Dover sole is outstanding, even if a little pricey. The cocktails were very well made, and wine by the glass was a nice selection. The dining room is beautiful, well appointed, and tables are spaced pretty far apart - something rare in Houston. Service is outstanding - very gracious, attentive, and appreciative. We will return to enjoy other selections on the menu, too.
Great food and service! Such attention to detail and serving. Only issue was they sent us home with the wrong leftovers. One person in our party was not feeling well after ordering so they boxed the whole meal for us to take. Got home and it was half of someone’s else’s shrimp meal. So $30 of food we did not get to eat but also shame on us for not double checking the food before leaving. Mistakes happen and still was a great experience. Will definitely be going back and will recommend!
We loved the food, the staff was wonderful!
Outstanding in every way! Food, service and ambiance perfect as always.
Cheese souffle appetizer is unique and excellent. Service was superb, always appreciate competence and attentiveness of Mario (our server).
Service was not as good on New Years Eve as it has been in the past. Would still recommend though.
We had heard that the food and service had fallen off at Chateau due to a chef switch but wanted to see for ourselves. Thankfully, the rumors were totally untrue and the food, service and ambiance remain top notch. What a pleasure!
I had a wonderful luncheon with my BFF a few days ago and Francis made it so special!
From arrival to departure, we were well taken cared of. The food was superb and the Christmas decor was beautiful.
That is the reason why La Table is my favorite restaurant. The attention to detail and the best fine dining experience anyone could ever ask for!
Please keep up the great work in 2019, and I will visit again soon! Happy New Year!
Delicious meal and beautiful ambiance. Great for a romantic date night or special occasion. Always a divine time!
We’ve gone in small and quite large groups and the service is almost as excellent as the food. Try the cheese soufflé
Seven of us had a wonderful long dinner. Staff were attentive pros. Sommelier listened to us, then brought an unfamiliar wine that's a new favorite. It's a beautiful, comfortable space - we sank in and three hours slipped by. All of our dishes were excellent, highlighted by the truffle pasta, scallops, fillet mignon, and apple tart. Use the valet parking. Many thanks for a great evening!
This restaurant has a great atmosphere if you are looking to get some brownie points with your significant other. VERY romantic!
We usually go to Brennan’s for my husbands birthday and this year I decided to try something new. There are not many options for lunch on Xmas eve, even in a city like Houston. La Table was a big disappointment, starting with trying to call to add one person to our reservation, and being left on terminal hold , then our waiter not knowing the difference between a champagne and a sparkling wine , if you are going to be open on Xmas eve then at least offer a special menu, their lunch menu was very ordinary, the prices vs quality was not there and the no one came by to ask us how our meal was..if they had I would have told them . The restaurant was pretty empty and the service was very slow..I will be surprised if the restaurant is still open next year..not that it matters because we will be going back to Brennan’s..in my opinion, this is not what one would expect from an upscale restaurant in Houston
I think it would have been helpful to know that the regular menu wasn’t being served when I made reservations or when I received a reminder. Also, we were sat at a table where I looked into a mirrored door the whole time. I am doubtful I will go back.
Great location, outstanding foods and superb service.
The food and atmosphere were top drawer but what made this an exceptional dining experience was the attentive service of Valerio and Susan. They made the difference between a 10 rating and an 11++
We loved our food, our wine, etc. But, the service was disappointing. We’re in our early 20s, and they didn’t really take us seriously, which was disappointing as we were celebrating a special occasion. We were seated at the worst table, had to ask for our wine to be filled at least three times, and overall felt we were looked down upon for our age. Food was incredible, service was not.
Service and food mediocre at best. Had a fabulous experience first time we went. This was our second visit. Very disappointed with service and food was just okay. Too expensive to not be wowed. So noisy had to yell to be heard. Restaurant may have been overwhelmed by Christmas party going on at same time but we won’t be back.
Our birthday evening with our out of town guests couldn’t have been more grand! Francis and his staff went out of their way to fill our request for a large booth in a fabulous location, which overlooked the holiday lights and scenery of Post oak. The food was cooked perfectly - go tomahawk steak and chicken carved and served table side. A perfect evening had by all. Can’t wait to return for another beautiful evening. Thank you for making my husband’s birthday so special.
A new dining experience that we look forward to our return. Excellently appointed decor, coupled with our wonderful host, we were escorted to our second floor table overlooking beautifully holiday theme decorated Post Oak Blvd. The menu suggest high end traditional French-Belgian cuisine and I highly recommend the duck, if you are looking for that special treat. For some reason their martini’s stood out as best ever! Le Table is high on my list to return!
Food, service and atmosphere all top notch!! Very elegant!! Found a new favorite restaurant in Houston!!
Love the atmosphere and the food was delicious. We were a group that varied in age from 18 - 60, and all loved it. The service is impeccable, yet warm.
