La Strada Ristorante-Randolph Ratings and Reviews
The waitress did not offer a drink list or suggestions for cocktails when no beer was available on draft. Bread was served stale, Food was just OK. My pasta was served with only the end stems of asparagus. Veal parm was not served over pasta but instead with what seemed like an Asian style broccoli and carrots which were minimally cooked and even less seasoned. Waitress should of informed guest that the entrees were not served with pasta/ starch to give patron chance to order one. It was a disappointing meal, expected much more but sadly a pizzeria would of been better.
We've been enjoying the great food and service for a few years and sorry we didn't find LaStrada sooner. We live in Brooklyn and work in Manhattan and find that the elegant service and superb food excels many/ most restaurants in NYC.
We are thrilled when we are treated like royalty which is every time we arrive.
Always good, been going there for many years and the food is always consistently good. The owner always watches over to make sure everything is always done correct. Friendly waiters and good atmosphere with ambience of a piano player on Fridays and Saturday. Great restaurant.
La Strada was the midpoint for us to meet an old friend for dinner, and it was a spot that they have eaten at frequently. The food was very good, but the restaurant was quite noisy. Our friend, a regular customer, was not happy with the service. We were left "unattended" for long periods of time. But the meal itself was excellent.
Food was terrible, risotto had an after taste, same with the fish, carpaccio appetizer was probably the worse that I've had. I have had better from a Japanese Restaurant. For dessert, we had the creme brulee, was not creamy at all and tasted like it was made with egg whites, it was so overcooked, it had bubbles in it with the consistency of an egg white omelet. The only redeeming part of my meal was the rack of lamb, unfortunately the serving was so small, it didn't make up for the rest of the meal.
I don't usually write any comments but our experience at La Strada was so special I felt I had to say something. We looked for a restaurant that would be perfect for our anniversary dinner. la Strada did not disappoint. The service was impeccable with our waiter going over specials, recommending wine and attending to our every need. The rest of the staff was equally efficient in clearing plates, refilling our water glasses, and asking if there was anything we needed. The food was equally outstanding with both my wife and I ordering specials. The upscale atmosphere was a nice change from many restaurants where men will come in in jeans and wear a baseball cap at dinner. We can't find anything to comment about negatively. It is just a shame we were staying at a nearby B&B and live over an our and a half away because we would definitely return.
I have been to LaStrada Restaurant many times. It is one of my favorite restaurants.
I have never been disappointed with any of the meals that I have had there. The wait
staff are very professional, The meals are excellent and the ambiance is very nice as well.
Three generations of family - we all very much enjoyed our meals. Waiter and service were fantastic. Lots of great traditional Italian dishes - from Chicken Parm to Lasagna, we all thought the food was great. Portions were very generous, and half of us took home leftovers. Be careful! We didn't leave enough room for dessert. Next time.
Booked late afternoon for meal on a Friday night, was not in a rush to go anywhere else before/after. Restaurant was excellent, great food, ambience and just a really nice place. The one thing i loved was the personal touch of a waiter who stayed dealing with anything we needed and had a great knowledge of the specials and general questions about the menu. Also loved not feeling rushed at all, we were allowed to sit there for a good hour and a half with time between getting our courses for conversation and enjoying our night out. There was also a piano player/singer who was just at the right level sound wise to give a good experience of the music but not over-powering our own conversation and enjoyment. Will certainly be going back again soon
We haven't been to La Strada in a long time, (they are too pricey for anything except special occasions) but we fondly remember many wonderful dinners we had there with family and friends, over the years. Boy have they changed!
Our reservations were made on-line (obviously), so I could make a special request regarding timing - IN WRITING. We had to leave by 6:30, having 7:00PM tickets. Our main course came out at 6:30 (?!!!)
Now, the food: the stuffed artichokes were the canned, marinated kind (?!), the home-made rigatoni pasta, stuffed with cheese and beef was the NOT home made, dehydrated, store-bought rigatoni, not stuffed with anything, in a half-assed Bolognese souse. The medium well fillet mignon, for my 75 year-old mom, came out RAW (?!!) and our server was nowhere to be found (??!!!!) The other food was nothing special, halibut overcooked - not good.
I feel like I threw $300.00 in the toilet, and my brother's birthday was ruined. I will not go back.
