La Strada - Eldorado Resort Casino Ratings and Reviews
Took my wife there for valentine’s Day and the food and service was amazing. They gave my wife a rose before the dinner Avery nice and romantic touch. The meal was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. The staff was top notch and right there when you needed them I highly recommend this fine dining restaurant to anyone in Reno.
We eat at La Strada a couple of times a year and have never been disappointed. The service is great and the food is always outstanding. We have become fans of the tasting menu which has always been great. They also have an excellent wine list which is not outrageously priced. All in all a wonderful dining experience.
Nice ambience, many menu selections and the food was great! Our waiter was very attentive and informed about the various dishes on the menu. Our only complaint was that our wine pours for individual glasses were 1/3 full and for $ 14.00 this price was outrageous. Food prices were reasonable, but would probably bring our own wine and pay corkage fee if we return.
Having dinner before a show. The service was attentive and professional. Calamari was stupendous as well as the shrimp. The wife raved about the baked salmon and the boy enjoyed the linguini. I had the ribeye which was delicious, but wasn’t impressed with the cheesy baked potato. The fried artichoke heart would of be better if they weren’t saturated in oil.
Overall a good experience as the atmosphere was good 2 go.
We always enjoy dinner at La Strada! It is a great place for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries. It is also a good spot for a romantic dinner. From the welcome at the host station to the wait staff to the manager, everyone at La Strada makes guests feel welcome and special. The Italian food is classic and most everything is made from scratch, including some truly fabulous pasta. Be sure to try the Bolognese sauce, which is a Carano family recipe that cooks for hours. A special shout out to bartender Jose at the Buffet Bar outside La Strada. If he has time, order a Jose Special. You will not be sorry!!
My friend had been telling me about the delicious Italian meals she and her family have shared here for years, so I was really looking forward to dinner. It did not disappoint and in fact surpassed my expectations. The restaurant was elegant, quiet, the attending staff friendly, helpful and discreet. The menu offered a variety of selections without being overwhelming, and I loved what I ordered (Salmon and vegetables in Cartoccio, and a Caesar Salad). Perfectly done and nicely presented. I look forward to returning!
JAN 31/2018 WE CELEBRATED OUR WEDDING ANNIVERSRY AT LA STRADA. WE MADE RESERVATIONS THRU OPEN TABLE AND MENTIONED ON THE RESERVATION THAT IT WAS OUR ANNIVERSARY.
3 MEALS WERE SATISFACTORY $38 EACH. 4TH DINNER WAS SCALLOPS WITH PELENTA. THERE WERE ONLY THREE SCALLOPS AND THE POLENTA TASTED LIKE IT CAME OUT OF A KRAFT INSTANT BOX. IT WAS DOWN RIGHT AWFUL AND COST AROUND $38. THE WAITER WAS NOT VERY EXPERIENCED AND AND WHEN WAITING ON US HE WAS VERY PRESENT AND SEEMED IN THE WAY. HE NEEDS DIRECTION IN ATTENDING A TABLE AND IS NOT SKILLED.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD AN AWFUL MEAL AT LA STRADA. A WHILE BACK I ORDERED VEAL PICATA AND IT WAS HORRIBLE. I'M SURE IT WAS A PIECE OF OLD BEEF THINLY SLICED AND THERE AGAIN IT WAS SO BAD I COULDN'T EAT IT.
I'VE HAD IT WITH THIS RESTAURANT AND WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.
ALSO, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I DIDN'T GET POINTS AT OPEN TABLE AS THE BILL WAS CLOSE TO $400. WOULD YOU BE SO KIND AS TO TELL ME WHAT I DID WRONG THAT I DIDN'T RECEIVE THESE POINTS? THANK YOU
My fiancé and I dined late in the evening on New Year’s Day. That being said, maybe the kitchen staff was exhausted and the pasta had been sitting, but the entrees (both of which came recommended by staff) were NOT up to par considering the price and reputation of this restaurant. The portion of seafood linguini was giant but the “white wine sauce” was basically a bowl full of water and only a couple of the clams were actually open. My fiancé’s duck rigatoni was a worse disaster- mine was edible with salt and Parmesan- but his pasta was starchy and gummy like it had been cooked in too little water and left to sit. Duck was over cooked and stringy. Sauce was equal parts odd and flavorless.
That being said, the service was wonderful. Our waiter was charming, knowledgeable, professional, and attentive. To be fair, he repeatedly asked if we were enjoying the food. We lied, as they were already closed, and we had him box the food hoping we’d be tipsy and hungry enough later to eat it (we weren’t). We did love the little olive and cheese board appetizer and the assortment of garlic bread and plain baguettes that came before the meal. If I return, I would go for the romantic atmosphere, professional staff, wine selection, bread, appetizers, a dessert and coffee, but skip the entrees.
Only issue was they didn't have the first 2 bottles of wine we ordered and then they had to run to the other restaurant "roxy" to get our third bottle we ordered that they did not have. So we got our bottle of wine as we got our meal, would have preferred it a bit sooner
When we are in Reno-sometimes monthly, we always make a reservation at La Strada
the best restaurant in all of the casinos
The mushroom ravoli--their specialty for years is still the greatest..
Add a glass of white wine, their bread...and we are in "heaven"
Will continue to come back to La Strada--and will recommend to all..
I wish the hotel was up to the same standards...sadly it is not....
Absolute worst experience we’ve had in a very long time. We are both Reno locals and though used to love La Strada wouldn’t go back or recommend it. We had a reservation for 2 for 6:30 in 12/29/17 for my fiancé’s 40th birthday. We showed up on time and waited over 10 minutes for anyone to help us. We told the two hostesses that we had a reservation and were told it would be 5-10 more minutes. We decided to wait at the bar. We asked if they had our reservation and the girl rudely confirmed that yes we had one and walked away. She later came to get us and told us to meet her at another host station. We waited and finally someone else sat us. This was almost 30 minutes after our reservation time. We were seated at a tiny table in the middle of a crowded room next to a loud kitchen. After waiting for quite some time a server came to get our drink order. It was even longer to get our drinks. When we stopped him as he ran by and asked what specials they had he said they don’t have specials and walked away. We had to catch him again to order food. His demeanor was that of a port of subs drive thru order taker. The entire experience was awful. The next day we got an email from Opentable saying we missed our reservation. This is not at all the case. We went on time and were treated awful. So so disappointed in La Strada and this experience. Ruined a milestone birthday and we will not recommend nor be back.
La Strada is one of my family’s favorite places to dine. We celebrated my birthday at La Strada before going to a show. Everything was delicious! A friend from out of town said the lasagna was the best she had ever eaten. The mushroom raviolis are a favorite and always delicious. A complimentary tiramisu was brought to the table w/ an Italian rendition of Happy Birthday. It was a very special evening!
We've eaten at LaStrada a number of time and are never disappointed. Food is very good and the wait staff outstanding. We had a standard Italian dinner - tomato soup and salad and chicken parm and veal chops for entre's. Served with bread which is always excellent. Restaurant is relatively quiet and very comfortable seating in a number of smaller rooms. The chicken parm came with vegetable and polenta. From past experience, if you order a small order of pasta with the dinner (an optional charge), the portion is very big. Great wait staff every time we come here to dine.
La Strada is one of the classiest expensive restaurants in Reno. I've lived in Reno since 1964 so I've been to almost all of them over the years. This was the first time that I was not someone's guest at La Strada so I never experienced the impact of seeing a Bill. It was our Christmas dinner, so it felt okay to splurge but was still shocking to see the prices on the menu. My brother said that Reno restaurants are much less expensive than those in the Bay Area. So with that in mind, I can say that if you spend $60.00 on a meal, you will be getting the BEST QUALITY food at La Strada!
